My wife and I have shared google photos libraries, each of us is sharing his/her library with the other, and sharing each other's photos with a third person, for example sending a photo on WhatsApp, is not as straightforward as you would assume.

If I want to send another friend a photo that my wife shared with me through the shared library, I need to first save it to my own library, then go look for it by date in my photos library, and from there I can finally share and send it through whatever app or medium I'd like to.

Isn't it possible to add the share commands directly to the interface when viewing a shared library? Without going through the other steps?

I used the link you sent, but it's actually the same experience in the browser instead of the app.

When I go into a shared library I don't have any sharing controls, i have to save the picture to my own library first.

I'm not sure if this is done because of ownership rights or something similar, I can understand not being able to edit the photo because it'll change the original too, but in my opinion at least the share button should be there.

Google Photos never uploads the same picture multiple times.
What we see as duplicates have some difference in file format or metadata.

Regrettably, Google Photos doesn't provide any means to remove the apparent duplicates. You have to search those manually. Leave aside any automation.

The Google Photos service is available with every account on a "Free to use" basis.

Users can't delink the service from the account.

However, on iOS, you can uninstall the app.

Similarly, if that's an Android phone, you can disable the app through the settings on the phone.

Once done, please visit the link https://photos.google.com & then start deleting the pics one by one.

If you do the same process through a desktop, you can select multiple pics at once & speed up the operation.

After deleting the photos, please ensure to empty the trash/bin.

Once done, you will regain the space on Google Drive.

If you don't want to use the Google Photos app in a better way then done recently, you simply can remove the app from your iPhone or iPad because you can manage your "mistakes" on photos.google.com

The Android-version of the app simply has the option to use the app without account, so just as a passive gallery. But I do see now that this option is missing in the iOS-version on my iPad for some stupid reason.

So best to remove the app completely - then you loose will nothing and then you safely can remove some large videos from photos.google.com in Safari and if you go to settings on the site, you also can press the Recover storage button and wait a day if this action has helped to get Gmail running again.

1. Check your online account - photos.google.com

If your photos were successfully uploaded to your online Google Photos account they may be available there. Try visiting photos.google.com and searching for them. If you have more than on

Once you delete photos from your Google Photos account, they're moved to Trash for the next 60 days. If you deleted them by mistake you can always restore them from the Trash folder within those 60 days. Here's the link explaining how to recover them from Trash. If you accessed the Trash and manually sent the photos for permanent deletion, or if the 60 days expired, there is no way to recover them from Google Photos.

3. Review other options

There is no forum for that, well that is Google's wrong. Actually, in Gallery Go there are two sorting options in the folders section viz. recent and modified and I do not know, they have not made it clear what they differ with.

Second was that when viewing the photos inside a folder in GGo, there is no sorting option there to select from. So, does it mean that they are sorted in the same order I select the folders list to be sorted? Or just the latest photo first?

And when I edit a picture in folder 4, that folder becomes folder 1 temporarily if you would have chosen Modified. But Recent means sorted on recent additions.
