This isn't currently possible in Google Photos, there is great search functionality so you can normally just search for what you want.
 
I suggest leaving a feature request directly for the development team by following these steps:
  1. Open the Google Photos app on a mobile device or go to photos.google.com using a computer .
  2. At the top left, touch or click the menu icon > Help & Feedback.
  3. Touch or click Feedback.
 
Please know that you may not receive a response, however the Photos Team are still reading the feedback! To see all of the feedback you have sent across all Google products, visit the Google Feedback Site.

That's impossible, but perhaps they had rather old or totally wrong dates: see recently added at https://photos.google.com/search/_tra_ and open the infopanel of one picture to see the date. 

Also: pictures may have got archived accidently (hidden from library) - see under the 3 small lines to find that Archive.

Anyone having the link can view the album and "Join" it when he/she has a Google account. And anyone having the link can also share further. That means that people you do not even know may "join" the album. There is no way to remove them. That's why Paolo suggests to ask the member to "leave" the album. But note that this will not prevent him/her to further view it.

Problem is I don't know who is she. "MOM" most likely is my mother, but she is using other account which already a member of this shared album.

Why this MOM account does not have option for me to remove. This is the most strange thing to me.

It is not unlikely that your MOM was logged-in to some other account when she opened your link in her standard browser. 
It is not wise to block her under the 3 dots because we know about later sharing troubles - even after unblocking that person. So first try to find out what your MOM is doing exactly after receiving your link - assuming that you have send her a link for that album.

Google Photos allows two types of edits
  • Reversible. When you open the photo once again, you will see a prompt to allow you reversing the earlier changes
  • Irreversible changes. However, in such cases, the app forces to save a copy instead of overwriting the original.
I guess, you did a major change. In that case, the original would be intact & visible in the same chronological order.
However, if you have deleted the original permanently, then regretfully, there is no way to undo your edits.

However, once a user deletes something permanently despite a warning message or allows the content to time out in the bin, Google doesn't maintain any backup. 
There is no way to get back the content through Google Photos.
 
Nevertheless, you may install to your Android device a deleted photo recovery app (be sure to not pick one that requires rooting) https://play.google.com/store/search?q=recover%20deleted%20photos&c=apps;
and run a scan for anything to recover.

Just wanted to let you know that what happens when you block someone:
  • You won't be able to see each others photos, videos, or comments in Google Photos. If they have a link to your album, they may be able to see it if they're signed out. 
  • If you own the album and you block a contributor, any content they've added will be removed from the album.
  • If you block the owner of an album, any content you've added will be removed from the album.
  • If you block someone from an album you don't own, you and the person you block won't be able to see each other's content.
  • That person will also be blocked in some other Google services, like Google+.
  • Learn about blocking Google Accounts.​

Also if you look someone up, (when you share an album), and they are in your contacts, if they did not block you, their name should, show up. If they do, you can't just type in their name because it won't show up. Their little profile icon will also disappear after you close acts reopen the album, if they were to block you.

There is no "Backup & restore" feature in Google Photos. It's only Backup (to cloud) & sync.
 
Nevertheless, can you try looking for your pics through another route? Please enter the link https://photos.google.com in any of the web browsers available on your phone. Log into your account & then see whether the photos become visible.
 
Once you confirm the photos are visible, then please revert.

Then you should assign a series to an album because that is ordered chronologically by default. 
 Be aware that an album does not contain copyfiles, so it will take no additonal storage in your account and an album also can be used for sharing. And an album also can be deleted without deleting the photos in your main photos-pages.
