Getting a 403 error when trying to download a picture from a branded account

Hi All, I'm trying to set up a branded account to share pictures along with YouTube content on my (branded) YouTube account and not associate with my personal account I'm posting here.

I uploaded a few pictures and sorted them into albums. When I try to download a picture (by pressing Shift+D or via the menu) I get a 403 error.
This issue seems to be related to this one: https://support.google.com/photos/thread/116019183/i-can-t-download-photos-from-my-google-photos

I want to state that this branded account is managed by me, so there is no one I can contact for help. Is there something I have to enable in my personal/primary account?

It's not a matter of downloading some pictures. I am starting to think this could be an issue with my account? I would like to sort this out before committing to a subscription plan for additional storage space.

Any help is appreciated
Chris

Question: Can I recover 6 year old deleted photos I know photos date

Dear Sir/Ma'am Can I recover 6 year old deleted photos I know photos date

If you want to get a deleted item back, check your trash to see if you can get it back. If your photo or video has already been backed up and you deleted it, it will remain in your Trash for 60 days.
  1. On your computer, go to the trash or select Trash from the menu in the app.
  2. Select the photo or video you want to restore.
  3. At the top right, click Restore . That photo or video will be restored to your Google Photos library and added back into any albums it was in.
Don't see the photo or video? If a deleted photo or video isn't in trash, you can’t restore it. You won't be able to restore a photo if:
  • You moved it to trash more than 60 days ago.
  • You moved it to trash, then emptied your trash.
  • You permanently deleted it from your trash.
  • You permanently deleted it from your device’s Gallery app, without backing it up first.

Google Photos app has deleted or dropped my photos.  I DID NOT DO THIS!!!  I went to go look up old photos and come to find that certain days in 2018 and parts of 2017 have been completely wiped out.  Those photos no longer exist!!  I have never deleted any photo from the Google Photo app.  I am PISSED!!!  I thought this was a reliable avenue for backing up my photos and getting them off my iPhone.  But, now Google Photos has erased precious memories that cannot be recovered.  I will never use this product again.
This is a major bug that Google needs to address.  I researched information to try and recover the Google deleted photos and found that others have experienced this as well.

Answer:

Removing photos from your iPhone that were not backupped correctly at Google, are lost forever hélas.
Your iPhone is not very suitable for Google because it does not permit background operation.
So after shooting new pictures (and some movies perhaps) and being back home and having good wifi, you have to open the app for a while to give it the chance to backup.
If not done in that way, the app can't do its job properly.
Thanks to Apple.

No Google here to blame either.
Sorry, but some reading of helpinfo may be wise always.

Hi,  Vaibhav Dhanotiya

Thanks for your reply

Regret, you are not clarifying whether you deleted the photos on your phone.

Nevertheless, please have a look at the following links through any browser on your phone
I suggest you please look for your photos through these links

If you can't find the pics there, then there is not way to get those back through Google Photos.

Nevertheless, you may install to your Android device a deleted photo recovery app (be sure to not pick one that requires rooting) https://play.google.com/store/search?q=recover%20deleted%20photos&c=apps;
and run a scan for anything to recover.

Question: I have deleted my photos and videos by mistake I want to recover it

I just wanted to recover my photos and videos

Hello Sourabh Gour 2839 ,

If you have uploaded photos on google photos and deleted it please take a look at the below info.

Following is text from the official Google Photos Help page about deleting and restoring photos and videos:

Restore photos & videos
If you deleted an item and want it back, check your trash to see if it’s there.
  1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google Photos app .
  2. At the bottom, tap Library  Trash .
  3. Touch and hold the photo or video you want to restore.
  4. At the bottom, tap Restore. The photo or video will be back:
    • In your phone’s gallery app
    • In your Google Photos library
    • In any albums it was in
If the item is not in your trash, it may be permanently deleted.
    Important:
    • If you delete a photo or video that’s backed up in Google Photos, it will stay in your trash for 60 days.
    • If you delete an item from your Android device without it being backed up, it will stay in your trash for 60 days.
    • If you see a photo or video in Google Photos that you think you deleted, it might be on a removable memory card. To delete it, use your device’s gallery app.
    Empty your trash
If you see a request to "Delete permanently" when you try to move an item to trash, your trash is full. Your trash can hold 1.5GB.

Important: If you empty your trash, you permanently delete any items in your trash.

When you attempt to manually empty the trash bin in Google Photos, a warning message box appears that explains you are about to permanently delete those pictures and videos. If you choose to proceed anyway, there is nothing that any of the volunteers in this forum can do to help you recover your pictures.

The information on the following Google Photos Help pages will help you become more familiar with finding, deleting, and restoring your pictures:

If you deleted pictures or videos that were not previously backed up to your account through the Google Photos app, then unfortunately there's nothing that Google or any of the volunteers in this Help Community can do to recover them.

Files that existed only on your phone, ones that were never uploaded to the cloud, cannot be recovered or restored by a cloud storage service. Simply put, Google can't help you recover files it never had in the first place.

    Thanks.

Do you use the Google Camera app? (If you're not sure, what phone do you have?) If so, swipe down from the top then tap the little down arrow in the top center to access some settings, then the settings gear at the bottom of that screen to access more settings. Scroll down and look for "Save selfie as previewed", you can turn this on/off to turn mirroring on or off.

    Hi, Niharika Sharma 8902

Welcome to Google Photos Community Support Forum & thanks for your query.

Do you want restore the pics once again to your phone?
That will defeat he whole purpose of "Free up space"!

Nevertheless, you can read further to know how to bring back the pics to your phone's gallery.

To bring back the pics to your phone's gallery, either, you can download photos one by one.
Regrettably, there is no option to do so on a batch of photos.

Alternatively, you can install the Google One app there is a one time option to restore up to two hundred most recent photos to the device.
However, the local folder structure can not be restored.
To do so, there is no requirement to join Google One, the option is available to everyone.
However, the method may not be effective to recover something when the count is more than two hundred.

Or, you can arrange for a bulk download by visiting the link https://takeout.google.com/
Select the Google Photos app for data download.
Once the file is ready, you will get an email. Access that & unzip all the attachments into your phone's gallery.

That will bring everything to your phone.

Some important videos were deleted permanently from the google photos when my child is using my mobile, Usually it was moved to trash but n after updating the google  photos it is showing Delete permanently . my child click that option causing my important videos got delete . Please help me by recovering those video . my child deleted yesterday from my android device

    Answer:

    Hello vengatesh sundarapandian,

Please review the following information in case there are any options you haven't yet tried.

    1. Check your online account - photos.google.com
If your photos were successfully uploaded to your online Google Photos account they may be available there. Try visiting photos.google.com and searching for them. If you have more than on
    2. Check the trash - photos.google.com/trash
Once you delete photos from your Google Photos account, they're moved to Trash for the next 60 days. If you deleted them by mistake you can always restore them from the Trash folder within those 60 days. Here's the link explaining how to recover them from Trash. If you have more than one Google account, check the trash for all of them.

If you accessed the Trash and manually sent the photos for permanent deletion, or if the 60 days expired, there is no way to recover them from Google Photos

    3. Review other options
    • if you previously used Picasa, visit picasaweb.google.com and search for your photos.
    • have you made any backups of the photos on your phone, camera, computer, or elsewhere?
    • there is a small chance that you can restore the photos using a recover deleted photos app (Android). I haven't used them myself so have no specific recommendations. There may well be more app options if you visit the appropriate app store and try other search terms. I don't see any similar apps on the iOS store, but you could check yourself.
    • you can contact the Google Drive support team to see if any deleted files may be recovered. Use the Google Drive contact form, click Missing or deleted files, select a contact option, and be sure to tell them you permanently deleted files in Google Drive.
    • If you ever shared the photos with anyone else, it's possible they may have a copy they could share back or send to you.
     Thanks.

I would like to combine photos to create a cinematic picture so I can get a better idea of depth. It seems like Google photos just decides occasionally to do that to photos without my input, but I would like to select the photos to make one myself. I'm trying to turn 2D drone footage into something with more depth

    Answer:

    Hello Jenna Coleman,

Cinematic photos are created by Google photos itself. The AI generates it and sets it for some sets of photos.

But you can't create one. If the It suits the terms of Ai it will create one but you cannot create it manually

    Answer:

    Hi, Manjeet Thakur 9167

Welcome to Google Photos Community Support Forum & thanks for your query.

Since the photo is not there in the bin also, that means it's now deleted permanently.
However, once a user deletes something permanently despite a warning message or allows the content to time out in the bin, Google doesn't maintain any backup.
There is no way to get back the content through Google Photos.

Question: Missing photos on google photos app on iOS iPhone 12.

    @David
Then the actual app can't show them for some reason unknown to me - some special Apple trick perhaps.
Do they really show on the Google-site in Safari as they are shown in Apple Photos?
Maybe an update is needed because the 12 is brandnew.
Else you always can report straight to Google via the feedback option under your profile.
    Sorry - no Google here.

    Answer:

Thank you.  No update for app.   It's up to date.    photos.google.com mirrors iPhoto. App has a bunch of missing pictures.    Can't figure it out.    Thanks

    Answer:

In fact this is even more strange, because the Google app just shows what there is in what you call iPhoto.
Only in case videos are deleted in iPhoto to make more space on phone, they are replaced in the app by there cloudcopies.
Sorry, wait for better advice - no Google here.

PS: in the general settings for apps, check if the Google Photos app is allowed to work in background.

PS: I meant with updated: made better suitable for iOS 14.6 because there are more strange complaints. Thereby it is important to use the feedback option to let Google know there is something not good.

    Answer:

Thank you !  Yes very odd.  Same for two apps.  iPhone 12 and an older iPad.   I have found several examples.  Search for a particular country and everything shows up on website but on app many photos missing.   I tried searching using the dates of missing pictures and no luck.

    Thanks

    Answer:

I have no problems on an older iPad Air 2 recently update to iOS 14.6 and Google Photos app 5.49
I use the pad for viewing Google Photos in cloud mainly and I have no missings.
We can do no more, so hopefully Google will solve this mystery soon.
But you know how to look to the website - many not.
    Best
