I am having Android 6.o version of Samsung Galaxy .I frequently get a message that storage space almost full go to smart manager and delete the files. I delete but no improvement in storage space. So I inserted 32GB SDCARD. As instructed in Help Center to allow Google Photos app read SDCARD when I tapped LIBRARY at the bottom I didn't get DEVICE FOLDER so I can't proceed further to open SDCARD to delete items.To UPDATE  Photos app I uninstalled whatsapp and Telegram app but still there is not enough space. I don't have other installed app to delete to clear storage space in device. Please tell me which preloaded app I can delete to have enough storage space in device. Recently Photos app is not showing any media being received. Please investigate and rectify. Thanks

Did you make some changes through the Settings -> Chats -> Media visibility in WhatsApp recently?

Nevertheless, WhatsApp hides the media folder from visibility to other apps, usually.

@Achi: I really appreciate you sharing your inputs.

@Rakesh: Like "Achi" mentioned, as you've deleted the photos permanently from the trash, unfortunately, there isn't any way to recover them.

 Also, just to let you know that once if the Photos and videos are backed up to the Google Photos then deleting the photos/videos from the Google Photos will also get deleted from your device.

Deleting them from your device gallery/iCloud wouldn't delete the backed up copy in the Google Photos/Cloud. However, if you delete them from the Google Photos/Cloud it will get deleted from your device/iCloud.

However, try checking the missing photos on Google Photos library. Incase, if you might have moved the photos to trash, it will not automatically removed from:

• Blogger
  
• YouTube
  
• Gmail
  
• Google+

If you don't find the photos, I'd recommend you look for your photos here, signing in with all your Google accounts if you have more than one:

• get.google.com/albumarchive
  
• drive.google.com (under Google Photos)
  
• other online photo or file storage services you use (e.g. Dropbox, OneDrive, iCloud).

I'd also recommend you contact the Google Drive support team as they can restore photos up to 21 days after deletion if the photos are available in the Google Drive. You can click the "Missing or deleted files" entry of the contact form and request a phone call or any other option that works for you.

However, once a user deletes something permanently despite a warning message or allows the content to time out in the bin, Google doesn't maintain any backup. 

There is no way to get back the content through Google Photos.

 

Nevertheless, you may install to your Android device a deleted photo recovery app (be sure to not pick one that requires rooting) https://play.google.com/store/search?q=recover%20deleted%20photos&c=apps;

and run a scan for anything to recover.

I just open the app for daily backup to photos. And the last videos which was saved through instagram app, (through story) the iOS has correct time, but the app when it finishes the upload gives -2 hours ago.

And WEIRDEST thing is that. i scrolled down to see other videos saved through instagram, and it was the same. But i found 10-15 that i was remembered the exact time. and it was correct. 6:21 am.

And suddenly after some closes and re-launches of the app, also those video went at 4:21am..

Whats happening?? Its pretty frustrating and makes no sense.

what I noticed, is that videos, that have a gps location, get their timezone set by this gps location, for example +8, but additionaly, they get their original time changed by this amount so 11:25 becomes 17:25

If you connect the phone to your computer through a USB cable, there is no need to go through Google Photos.
Once you connect the phone, a notification will appear asking you to select a suitable action mode. 
Select file transfer mode.

Again, I am assuming you are using Windows PC. If so, the content on the phone will become visible in the file explorer as a new drive.
Next, you can use the usual copy command to bring everything to your computer.

Face grouping works surprisingly well, also for photos of the same person at different ages, but nothing is perfect. When two groups are created for the same person, you can merge these groups by giving them the exact same name. Google should then ask you to confirm that it is the same person.

That's because of the Sync function

 

Sync means that your photo library stays consistent across all devices that are signed in to your account with Google Photos.
 For example, deleting a photo from one device will delete it from everywhere, and editing a photo on the web will edit the photo on the original device.
 

You should never delete any picture in  straightforward manner once the Sync is on.
