On your iPhone or iPad, open the Google Photos app .

At the bottom, tap Sharing .

When you attempt to manually empty the trash bin in Google Photos, a warning message box appears that explains you are about to permanently delete those pictures and videos. If you choose to proceed anyway, there is nothing that any of the volunteers in this forum can do to help you recover your pictures.

If you deleted pictures or videos that were not previously backed up to your account through the Google Photos app, then unfortunately there's nothing that Google or any of the volunteers in this Help Community can do to recover them.

Files that existed only on your phone, ones that were never uploaded to the cloud, cannot be recovered or restored by a cloud storage service. Simply put, Google can't help you recover files it never had in the first place.

A complete reset of the Google Photos app may be required.

Check the app trash to make sure there are no photos and videos mistakenly deleted
- Empty the trash
tap the account icon at the top right
tap your email address and select Use without an account
Power down/up or restart the device
sign in again making sure you are using the correct email
check that the Backup & sync settings are correct and using the correct email
wait until getting photos finishes, could take a while
- Please wait until it completes leaving the app open and plugged in if necessary.

None of the volunteers in this forum have access to your account, photos, or other personal information. And, even though Joe Biden is the current President, I don't think he has access to your account either, nor do I think he (or Google) has anything to do with getting a new credit card.

If someone with access to your account decided to change, move, delete, or export your pictures, there's nothing that anybody here can do to change things back because none of us can access anybody else's accounts. That includes Flicker accounts as well.

Even though you're asking about pictures, the real issue here is your inability to log in and access your old account. So, your question would be more likely to receive a useful answer if you posted it in the Google Account Help Community, rather than in the Google Photos help forum.

Please review the following information in case there are any options you haven't yet tried.

1. Check your online account - photos.google.com

If your photos were successfully uploaded to your online Google Photos account they may be available there. Try visiting photos.google.com and searching for them. If you have more than on

2. Check the trash - photos.google.com/trash

Once you delete photos from your Google Photos account, they're moved to Trash for the next 60 days. If you deleted them by mistake you can always restore them from the Trash folder within those 60 days. Here's the link explaining how to recover them from Trash. If you have more than one Google account, check the trash for all of them.

If you accessed the Trash and manually sent the photos for permanent deletion, or if the 60 days expired, there is no way to recover them from Google Photos.

3. Review other options

if you previously used Picasa, visit picasaweb.google.com and search for your photos.
have you made any backups of the photos on your phone, camera, computer, or elsewhere?
there is a small chance that you can restore the photos using a recover deleted photos app (Android). I haven't used them myself so have no specific recommendations. There may well be more app options if you visit the appropriate app store and try other search terms. I don't see any similar apps on the iOS store, but you could check yourself.
you can contact the Google Drive support team to see if any deleted files may be recovered. Use the Google Drive contact form, click Missing or deleted files, select a contact option, and be sure to tell them you permanently deleted files in Google Drive.
If you ever shared the photos with anyone else, it's possible they may have a copy they could share back or send to you.

Try removing those 20000 photos from trash folder open Google photos then library then trash Empty it.

100Gb of storage space that's included with all basic Google accounts is shared between Gmail, Google Drive, and Google Photos.

Have you checked to verify that it is Google Photos responsible for using up your storage space? You can find out where your storage is being used by tapping the Upgrade Storage link in Google Drive, or by following this link.

Like you correctly say: deleting the photos will also empty the albums for everyone. When the photos were uploaded in Original quality, you can convert them to the "Storage saver" quality. No one will notice the difference and they will use substantially less storage. Go to https://photos.google.com/settings and use "Recover storage". The process may take some time, but happens completely on Google's servers. The other solution is that you pay for more storage, for example $2/month for 100 GB.

To entirely delete the photos stored on the cloud, please follow these steps on your Android phone.

First, turn off backup & sync - You have done that already!
Next, uninstall or disable the Google Photos app on your phone.
Next, open the link https://photos.google.com through any browser on your phone. Log into your Google account if the browser asks you to do so.
After that, go on deleting the pics one by one. You can speed up this step if you do so through a desktop PC. There, you can select multiple pics through the combination of the Shift + Mouse key.
Once you have deleted all the pics, empty the trash bin also.

However, if the collection is sizable, you may not see the intermediate stop of storing the pics in the Trash.

Once done, please block the webpage https://photos.google.com within all browsers available on your phone & desktop PC so that you do not visit that site again accidentally.

Following is text from the official Google Photos Help page about deleting and restoring photos and videos:

Sorry to say, but you have fallen in the Google-pit all do because by emptying the trash you have made any recovery impossible. Deleting in the app always deletes all on phone and with backup-on, all copies at Google are deleted as well - so you end-up with nothing apart from enough space on phone as well as in cloud. And we can do nothing against such a dangerous design.

Nevertheless check on photos.google.com in the Chrome-app if you still have most at Google complete.
