You need to install a resize photo app (don't pay) for doing this and your original still must be on phone.

To my experience the collage maker of Google Photos is very basic. There is nothing you can do after you created the collage, you cannot choose the format, size, order of photos etc ... All you can do is choose the (number of) photos, and give them the width/height ratio that avoids cropping.

If nothing works you better use another collage maker ...

Once there, tap the three dots at the top right corner & tap "Empty bin"

That will empty the bin.

However, please note, this action is irreversible.

The same account on my Pixel 5 does offer faces when I click search, and, if I manually type https://photos.google.com/people, I can see them. it just seems there is no way to browse for this list of names from the Photos homepage.

I suspect this may be because I am logged into several Google Accounts and the account with the problem is not my default account. However, everything else seems to work just fine on this account. Looks like a small bug to me. Anyone with any other thoughts?

Sorry Maria, we are also users trying to help and cannot do anything to help you. You should never have deleted from the bin without verifying that they were on your husband's account. Google keeps them 60 days to prevent accidental deletions. More general: having only one copy is always a risk. You better make a backup somewhere. 

It is possible that the Drive Help team can recover them if deleted recently, but in principle they only do it when you deleted the photos from Drive. You can try here: https://support.google.com/drive/gethelp

Backup and Sync is a Drive product, if you right click the taskbar icon:> 3 dots:> Help - you reach the general Support Page.

The choice to upload photos to Google Photos is either manually via upload or drag & drop direct to https://photos.google.com/ or using the Backup section of Backup and Sync.  Sync is a misnomer as once photos are backed up only deletions are synced, edits are not uploaded to Google Photos.

Here are the steps i took:

(Keep in mind i did the same process in both email address)

1. Downloaded a album i recently bought

2. Unzipped the file

3. Dragged and dropped into google doc to copy over

4. Opened Photos in both (My main showing all photos, when i delete them they are removed from drive as well; In my secondary email there are no pictures to show at all)

I have tried to attach screen shots but this will not allow me to upload them, is there another way to send them so you can see?

Maybe you Android is too old for it or has too less free space, but try to install Google Photos from the Playstore and switch-on backup in settings and wait a week until applying Free-up space from its menu. 

In meantime you can download from https://photos.google.com to your laptop in selections of 500 max just for surity.
