1. Check your online account - photos.google.com

If your photos were successfully uploaded to your online Google Photos account they may be available there. Try visiting photos.google.com and searching for them. If you have more than on

2. Check the trash - photos.google.com/trash

Once you delete photos from your Google Photos account, they're moved to Trash for the next 60 days. If you deleted them by mistake you can always restore them from the Trash folder within those 60 days. Here's the link explaining how to recover them from Trash. If you have more than one Google account, check the trash for all of them.

If you accessed the Trash and manually sent the photos for permanent deletion, or if the 60 days expired, there is no way to recover them from Google Photos.

3. Review other options

if you previously used Picasa, visit picasaweb.google.com and search for your photos.
have you made any backups of the photos on your phone, camera, computer, or elsewhere?
there is a small chance that you can restore the photos using a recover deleted photos app (Android). I haven't used them myself so have no specific recommendations. There may well be more app options if you visit the appropriate app store and try other search terms. I don't see any similar apps on the iOS store, but you could check yourself.
you can contact the Google Drive support team to see if any deleted files may be recovered. Use the Google Drive contact form, click Missing or deleted files, select a contact option, and be sure to tell them you permanently deleted files in Google Drive.

To bring back the pics to your phone's gallery, either, you can download photos one by one.

Regrettably, there is no option to do so on a batch of photos.

Alternatively, you can install the Google One app there is a one time option to restore up to two hundred most recent photos to the device.

However, the local folder structure can not be restored.

To do so, there is no requirement to join Google One, the option is available to everyone.

However, the method may not be effective to recover something when the count is more than two hundred.

Or, you can arrange for a bulk download by visiting the link https://takeout.google.com/

Select the Google Photos app for data download.

Once the file is ready, you will get an email. Access that & unzip all the attachments into your phone's gallery.

That will bring everything to your phone.

Good to hear Tom, but I can't understand that your Nokia can be so different from my Samsung, unless it has a simplified Android-version named "Android Go" while I am on standard Android-11.

If not present already, it is helpfull to install the simple Google Gallery Go app which is much more clear about device folders then the Photos-app, especially within the "Camera" -folder.

Like many other posters, I am unable to use the "free up space" option. It comes up and says it will delete 18000+ photos. I wait and within a minute or two it says that the free up space was cancelled and that the photos remain on my device.

- restarted my iPhone

- reinstalled google photos

- waited for ages for google photos to resume and index my photo library

If the item is not in your trash, it may be permanently deleted and cannot be recovered.

Doug is right - this does not have anything to do with Google Photos, but probably you have tried to share some photos via the Outlook-app on your phone never used before.

I can guess only, but if you tap that warning, you may need to fill your password for Microsoft Outlook (probably the same password as used on your Windows-pc at starting-up).

PS: because you are logged-in with your Gmail-account, you also can share to the M of Gmail, but then you may need to fill the complete adress of the receiver because of having no contacts at Google.
