However, once a user deletes something permanently despite a warning message or allows the content to time out in the bin, Google doesn't maintain any backup.

There is no way to get back the content through Google Photos.

Nevertheless, you may install to your Android device a deleted photo recovery app (be sure to not pick one that requires rooting) https://play.google.com/store/search?q=recover%20deleted%20photos&c=apps;

and run a scan for anything to recover.

If you have uploaded photos on google photos and deleted it please take a look at the below info.

Following is text from the official Google Photos Help page about deleting and restoring photos and videos:

Restore photos & videos
If you deleted an item and want it back, check your trash to see if it’s there.
On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google Photos app .
At the bottom, tap Library Trash .
Touch and hold the photo or video you want to restore.
At the bottom, tap Restore. The photo or video will be back:
In your phone’s gallery app
In your Google Photos library
In any albums it was in
If the item is not in your trash, it may be permanently deleted.

Important:
If you delete a photo or video that’s backed up in Google Photos, it will stay in your trash for 60 days.
If you delete an item from your Android device without it being backed up, it will stay in your trash for 60 days.
If you see a photo or video in Google Photos that you think you deleted, it might be on a removable memory card. To delete it, use your device’s gallery app.

Files that existed only on your phone, ones that were never uploaded to the cloud, cannot be recovered or restored by a cloud storage service. Simply put, Google can't help you recover files it never had in the first place.

You are never really safe only having a single copy of your images in a single place / platform / tool.

That said, you are reasonably safe if you see the "Backup complete" message (touch your profile icon if you don't see it elsewhere) AND only use the "Free up space" option (or "Remove device copy", after seeing "Backup complete".

NEVER use the Trash can icon, it will delete the image on your device and in Google Photos.

It is always a good idea to store important images in more than one place / tool. My photos are in Google Photos, on my laptop, and on multiple external disk drives (not connected to any computer or network).

The built-in collage tool does not have many features (note: I primarily use iOS, so I might not be aware of some Android features.. there are some differences). Are you on Google Photos library (cloud)? If yes, I understand how important Google Photos is for you. Please give the below steps a try in a sequence to help resolve the issue:

Check your internet connection (mobile data).
Close the Google Photos app and re-launch it.
Sign out and sign back in to Google Photos with the same Google Account.
Clear App data:

Open your device's Settings app (not the Google Settings app).
Touch Apps.
Select Google Photos in the list.
Touch Clear data.

Update the Google Photos app on your Android phone:

Visit the Google Play Store.
Open Google Photos.
Touch on Update.

When you leave a shared album, all of the photos, videos, comments, and likes you have added will be removed.

I have been going through my photos, G-mail, Drive daily working on deleting, transferring and cleaning up I stopped the backup as well. But I get a notice every single day about my storage. I have 5aken more than 3000 photos out plus the ones deleted bit I still get this notice every single day. I am transferring them not sure if where * am sending them to is good or not but I have to. Took over 3000 and pot them back on my computer. But every day when I start transferring them to another storage Google photos crashes after the first 2 transfers, so this is taking a little time. But with all that I have done already over 3500 photos taken off not even counting the ones deleted why am I still getting threatened by this notice that I have to buy more storage. If I could I definitely would but I can't so I am doing the best that I can with the app crashing on me in the process of getting this done. I thought that by transferring that many already at least that threatening notice daily should stop.

This is just a GUESS.. Hopefully some other people will jump in with other ideas...

If your the app is crashing, it is PROBABLY a phone problem. The first things I would do:

Make sure that your operating system (Android), Google Services, and Google Photos App are all up-to-date.

Make sure that you are not critical on DEVICE storage space (not Google storage quota).

Power off / on your phone.

If you have a computer, remember you can copy images from your phone to your computer using a USB cable.

Remember, if synching is turned on, if you use the Trash can it will delete images on your phone AND in the Google Photos cloud. Typically you should use "Free up space", but in your case you are doing something a little different.

If you continue to get messages about running out of Google storage, and you are positive that you have copies of the images you want / need elsewhere, you might want to empty the trash (icon in upper right hand corner): https://photos.google.com/u/0/trash

Thank you I will empty the trash. But for my Android it is all up to date and everything but the app has been closing on me even before I started getting these out of storage message this started about a year ago when I was trying to separate my photos using a different storage to keep them at so I could get things separated. It just got bad now when I am trying so hard to get that message off there so I have been trying to move photos more.

That didn't work. I emptied my trash sent videos somewhere else, took complete files off but every day I am running out of storage more and more. 1. How much storage is being consumed in your Google account?

Example: Mine says "3.51 GB of 17 GB used" and Google Photos is consuming 0.73 GB.

2. How much Storage is available on your phone?

Checking this may vary a bit depending on your phone's model and Android version, but the process should be fairly similar to this:

3. What is your Phone's Model (e.g., Moto G7, Samsung J9, etc.).

4. What version of Android is installed?

I did empty my trash several different times. the storage on my tablets is less than 1/2 full I just do not know I have never had any problems with Google Photos till this last month or so and I have had my photos there for several years. This all started up just after I thought I had to sign up with Google 1. Right after that, I was locked out of my account and this started.

Are you positive that the old account was really deleted? That is pretty extreme and I think there are some big warnings (and possibly a delay).
