I mistakeky deleted images permanently, help me to recover about some 100 pics

Please review the following information in case there are any options you haven't yet tried. 

1. Check your online account - photos.google.com
If your photos were successfully uploaded to your online Google Photos account they may be available there. Try visiting photos.google.com and searching for them. If you have more than on
2. Check the trash - photos.google.com/trash
Once you delete photos from your Google Photos account, they're moved to Trash for the next 60 days. If you deleted them by mistake you can always restore them from the Trash folder within those 60 days. Here's the link explaining how to recover them from Trash. If you have more than one Google account, check the trash for all of them.
 
If you accessed the Trash and manually sent the photos for permanent deletion, or if the 60 days expired, there is no way to recover them from Google Photos. 
 
3. Review other options
  • if you previously used Picasa, visit picasaweb.google.com and search for your photos. 
  • have you made any backups of the photos on your phone, camera, computer, or elsewhere?
  • there is a small chance that you can restore the photos using a recover deleted photos app (Android). I haven't used them myself so have no specific recommendations. There may well be more app options if you visit the appropriate app store and try other search terms. I don't see any similar apps on the iOS store, but you could check yourself. 
  • you can contact the Google Drive support team to see if any deleted files may be recovered. Use the Google Drive contact form, click Missing or deleted files, select a contact option, and be sure to tell them you permanently deleted files in Google Drive.
  • If you ever shared the photos with anyone else, it's possible they may have a copy they could share back or send to you.

You can add a person through the following steps.
 
Tap to open the photo which contains unidentified faces & then slide up or tap the three dots .
If the app had failed to include some faces in that picture, then you will see a prompt "XX faces available to add".
 
Tap the edit icon at the extreme right edge. (An icon of a pencil ).
 
That will show identified faces in square boxes & their thumbnails at the bottom.
Tap on the + sign on each thumbnail. 
Then the app will show you all the identified faces till that time.
You can select the right one.
 
If not, tap the + sign at the top right corner of the screen.
That would create a new grouping altogether.
 
Once created, the app may take some time to bring all the related pictures to this new grouping.
Otherwise, you can go through the collection & add the photos to the newly created group, manually, through the same steps as described above.
 
PS. The edit feature may not be available in some regions. If you happen to be from that, then regretfully nothing can be done.

Please note that, due to a variety of reasons, not all files can be recovered - but you can try!
 
1. Items deleted from your photos.google.com are stored in trash for 60 days and then are Auto-Deleted from trash and can not be recovered.
 
2. Items deleted manually from photos.google.com/trash can not be recovered.
 
3. Items deleted from your YouTube Channel can not be recovered.
 
4. Items deleted from your Gmail are stored in trash for 30 days and then are Auto-Deleted from trash and can not be recovered.
 
5. Items manually deleted from Gmail trash can not be recovered.
 
6. Items deleted from your Google Drive  will be stored in Drive Trash for 30 days and then be Auto-Deleted from Trash and can not be recovered.
 
1).If you are using a regular personal account
You will have to contact a Google Drive Specialist who *MAY* be able to restore it. Use this link:
 
2). If you use a work/student account (G Suite), you should contact your Account Admin as they can restore files up to 25 days after deletion.

My wife has pixel 3a that doesn't back up whatsapp photos and videos to google photos. My pixel 4a does. Both phone settings look the same. Both phones use camera roll and both lost the whatsapp folders within a couple of days. My pixel 4a then prompted me to take action to backup whatsapp photos. I think we have taken the same action but its not working.

Open photos app>tap on account toward top right> photos settings>backup and sync> scroll down> backup device folders.
You will get the options of other apps to sync the pictures into Google photos. All done and both phones have same settings.

Have also confirmed google photos is updated.

Please help.

In Google Photos in settings>backup and sync>backup device folders both WhatsApp videos and images are showing on.

WhatsApp photos and videos used to go in to a folder in Camera Roll. This folder disappeared about 3 weeks ago on both our phones within a couple of days. But my phone still backs up WhatsApp photos and videos to Google Photos but my wife's phone doesn't.

I was checking how to do a screenshot which saved into Camera Roll. I then got a pop up asking if this new folder needed backing up. I said yes and it went into Google Photos. In Google Photos settings>backup and sync>backup device folders both WhatsApp videos and images are showing on just like this new screenshot folder but they aren't backing up in Google Photos.

Are you aware that the WA-folders should be visible under Pictures on Device on the Library-page of the app and that backup should be switched on when you open the folder for images or videos (not more). 
If these folders are not visible there, you may have deleted all old chats in the WA-app.

PS: the wa-files never appear in the camera folder, unless downloaded from cloud.

Thanks for helping with this issue.

We both use Camera Roll which had folders for WhatsApp. These folders disappeared off my phone (pixel 4a) and then a couple of days later off my wifes (pixel 3a). I got a prompt a few days later about backing up WA which has worked but my wife didn't get any prompt. Settings on both phones in Google Photos>settings>bachup and sync are the same. In Google Photos library the WA folders are there with back up and sync switched on but no WA photos/videos are reaching Google Photos. We have checked WA, Google Photos and Camera Roll all appear to have the same settings.

My wife has deleted some chats and photos in WA nut not all since this problem began.

My wife had previously been transferring WA photos each time they came by clicking on the photo in WA and then clicking on the 3 dots and selecting share and Google Photos. It worked but they should have been going to Google Photos automatically. She recently left a sizeable number (more than 15) and did the above process to send them to Google Photos.

Then subsequent WA photos started to backup automatically. Nothing else was done. Doing a number of WA photos in a short space of time appears to have solved the problem.

However, regretfully, once an item vanishes from the recycle bin, there is no way to get that back through Google Photos.
 
Google also doesn't keep any backup once a user has made up the mind to forgo a photo or video.

and run a scan for anything to recover.

I am having the same issue.  I think "delete" and "uninstall" are maybe different with different consequences.  I deleted a couple of photos from the Google Photos app and they absolutely deleted from my MacBook and my iPhone, so Icloud as well no doubt.  UGH..  I want OUT of Google Photos completely.  AND now that I have used 15gb of space it is affecting my gmail..  No space left.  Who can help with this.  This is not intuitive at all.

Ok I MIGHT have the answer.  First unsync.  Flip that switch asap.  Then it won't be syncing to your apple devices.  THEN go to photos.google.com to delete.  Do not delete from the Google Photos App.  That will delete from your Icloud and IOS devices, Mac computer etc.  Just use photos.google.com.  Try with a couple photos first.  This should be easier.  Took me a couple of days searching for this.  Oh and if I am wrong, please tell me, but it appears to be working for me.

Figured it out - if you're using an iPhone, go to settings -> google photos -> photos -> allow access "never". 

That way it will no longer be connected to your iPhone. Then go to a web browser, type photos.google.com and try to delete any picture from there. It won't get deleted off your phone. Once you test it, you can bulk delete them all.

Picasa and Photos are completely different services. Just your photos were in your account. Google moved your files from Picasa to Photos inside your account. In Google, there is no longer a similar service, Photos has nothing to do with Picasa, except that it is also responsible for the photos and videos in your account - the principles of operation are different. 
For iOS, there are currently no functions like adding text. Use third-party apps for this. 
But you can always suggest functions, make a request or report a problem using feedback.

The "Free up space" option is meant to create some free space on the phone.
That helps in multiple ways. Further, that allows to snap more pics through your camera.
 
Your photos are safe on the cloud.
Even then, if you wish to get back the photos to your phone, please go through the information below.
 
To bring back the pics to your phone's gallery, either, you can download photos one by one.
Regrettably, there is no option to do so on a batch of photos.
 
Alternatively, you can install the Google One app there is a one time option to restore up to two hundred most recent photos to the device.
However, the local folder structure can not be restored.
To do so, there is no requirement to join Google One, the option is available to everyone.
However, the method may not be effective to recover something when the count is more than two hundred.
 
Or, you can arrange for a bulk download by visiting the link https://takeout.google.com/
Select the Google Photos app for data download.
Once the file is ready, you will get an email. Access that & unzip all the attachments into your phone's gallery.
 
That will bring everything to your phone.
