You can deselect WhatsApp media folder from backup & sync.

You can do so through the library view.

Locate & open the folder & then tap the slider in front of "Back up & sync" to make that off.

I’m sorry, it’s not possible to recover photos permanently deleted from the Google Photos Trash. However, you may install to your Android device a deleted photo recovery app (be sure to pick one that doesn't require rooting) https://play.google.com/store/search?q=recover%20deleted%20photos&c=apps and run a scan for anything to recover.

Deleted Photos are stored in Trash for up to 60 days, if you delete Photos again from trash, that's two times deletion.

Unfortunately, once Photos are deleted from trash there is no way to retrieve them back :(

Although there are multiple ways to transfer the content from the internal memory of the phone to an SD card, doing so through Google Photos allows retaining the backup and sync aspect.

Please follow the steps below to achieve the transfer.

Open Google Photos.
Tab Library.
Tap the desired folder under Photos on the device like Camera, Screenshots etc.
Select photos by long pressing then tap others after the tick confirms the first selection
You can also long-press and stroke down while still in a pressed condition, to select a batch.
Next, tap the 3 dot menu top right.
Tap Move to folder.
Tap New SD folder, type a folder name then tap Create.

Note that if the photos are backed up to Google Photos this will not remove them from the Photos, and even if the new folder is not selected for Backup & sync any contents will still be deleted if you delete that using the Google Photos app.

The best way to find out is

Go to email compose a email then click on attachment. Then click on the 3 line Then go to Google Photos there you will find the first one mentioning photos that is the number of photos & vedios you have on your Google photos.

To recover deleted files, you may follow the steps below:

For Computer.

If you want to get a deleted item back, check your bin to find out if you can get it back. If your photo or video has already been backed up and you deleted it, it will remain in your bin for 60 days.

On your computer, go to photos.google.com.
At the left, click Bin .
Place your cursor over the photo or video that you want to restore, then click Select .
At the top right, click Restore Restore. That photo or video will be restored to your Google Photos account and added back into any albums that it was in.

For Android.

If you deleted an item and want it back, check your bin to see if it’s there.

On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google Photos app .
At the bottom, tap Library Bin .
Touch and hold the photo or video that you want to restore.
At the bottom, tap Restore. The photo or video will be back:
- In your phone’s gallery app
- In your Google Photos library
- In any albums that it was in

If the item is not in your bin, it may be permanently deleted.

Do you mean 25 MB or 25 MP?

The MP value is relevant for printing and 25 MP corresponds to more then 6000 x 4000 pixels and then you can have prints up to 60x40 cm in top quality.

So you simply should look to suitable photo from some person and then move up that photo to see its technical values at the bottom.

There is no way to search for > 25 MP and if Google Photos is used at high quality, you MP values will be not higher then 16 MP.

PS: 25 MP pictures will have about 7.5 MB files on average.

It might be easier to accept that it is this way if I could understand why no one has implemented a feature that only deletes online photos

Google sees their cloud as your personal backup for safety, so easy deleting from cloud is not possible.

But that is nonsense, because when I would have uploaded the same files via the Chrome-app instead of the Photos-app, I would have no problems to delete them from photos.google.com only.

So it is a basic design failure in the app and you only can ask for a better approach via the feedback option under your profile. It is a general problem for people who want to stay under their free limit painfully.

Hello wendy, the best way to download your photos from the cloud is to enable the Google Photos folder in your Google Drive and then go to this folder in your Google Drive and download its contents.
