In one of the community posts I read that if user A has shared an album with user B, and if user B "saves" photos in their library, it gets counted against user B storage quota. I am user B here and shared album has pictures uploaded from my account as well as by user A. How do I remove "saved" photos shared by user A from my account without impacting the shared album? Sole purpose is to release the storage space occupied by saved photos.

You can delete the saved photos without affecting the shared album.  User A's copy will still be in the album.

Thank you for your response. I should have mentioned more detail in my original question. 

How do I identify saved shared photos from my timeline? If I delete all photos from the album, I may end up deleting photos which I uploaded.

The only way to identify saved shared photos is to look at each photo's detail as per the screenshot online.

 

The photos you see in the album which you didn't upload still belong to the owner and you cannot delete them.

 

The photos you saved are in your timeline and wholly belong to you.

Enter the link https://photos.google.com in any browser available on your phone.

Next, log into your account & see whether the photos become visible through the browser.

 

If yes, you can download the photos to your new SD card.

If not, you will have to copy those through some other means.

I suggest you clear the cached & stored data of the Google Photos app & then reinstall the app.

You can do that through these steps.

• On your Android phone, open the Settings.
• Tap Apps and notifications.
• Tap Show all apps.
• Tap Google Photos.
• Tap Storage and cache.
• Tap Clear storage.
• Next, uninstall the Google Photos app. 
• Power off the phone & then restart.
• Install the latest version of the Google Photos app through the Play Store.

Log into your profile & see whether that helps overcome the current problem.

I have a couple thousand pictures stored in "storage saver" quality, but eventually upgraded and am now wanting to make all of my photos "original quality." So, I would like to delete my "storage saver" photos & re-upload them in "original quality" but don't want to lose any photos from my phones or PC. My plan is to:

1) Disconnect the Google Photos app on 2 phones that upload to the account

2) Delete photos online

3) Connect Mac to drive for desktop (not all the pictures are hosted between the two phones, but should all be on the Mac)

4) Upload pictures from Photos app through Drive for Desktop

5) After photos are uploaded, disconnect Mac from drive for desktop

6) Reconnect phones' Google Photos apps

If I follow this proceedure to get all photos to Original Quality, (1) will I lose any pictures that are stored locally on the 3 devices(2 phones & 1 laptop)? (2) After uploading photos from my laptop and then disconnecting the laptop, will the photos remain on google photos, or will they be removed? (I am under the impression that the answer here is "no") (3)Lastly, when going through the history of my google photos, how will I be able to tell to see when the photos started uploading in Original--that is, is there a simple way to tell which photos are uploaded in "saver" vs "original" quality?
