  • If you mean "Albums" created in Google Photos and shown in the Google Photos app under Library, then the answer is that deleting a photo from the Photos tab also deletes it from the album, since the album contains only links to the photo you deleted, no copy of the photo. 
  • If you mean an "Album" (= folder) on your device:

I have shared a Google Photos album (https://photos.app.goo.gl/xxxxxxxxxxxx) with friends and family.  Several have accepted the invitation and are able the see the album. My wife could also accept the invitation and view the pictures. However, after less than 24 hrs the album vanished from her Google Photos album list on Android phone and Win10 Computer.

My wife is "Following" me on her Google+ account and I'm "Following" her. Thus, I don't thing that she is blocked (what has been described as the most common reason for this problem)

Can you help?

Hi Volker,

Welcome to the Google Photos Product Help Forum!

First, you might want to change/edit your example link in your original message as will the text was changed the URL for the link. You can change the URL by selecting the link and using ctrl K (or Change if it appears).

Have your wife check in https://photos.google.com/u/0/sharing  My guess is that it is there - this is normal behavior (it will be in the Owner's Albums but in ~Joiners~ Sharing) but gets confusing when you are sharing devices (computers) and photos, and you might create some albums and she might create others.

Hi Volker,

You (or somebody using your account) created the Album - you are the "Owner" of the account.

The album was shared with K* and she Joined the album.  ~Joiner~ is a term I made up to describe somebody who joined the album.

On K*'s app or logged into the website, look in the "Sharing" section or https://photos.google.com/u/0/sharing 
I believe you will find the album there. If not on the app, try the website. If it works on the website but not app you can clear the cache and data (there are many posts here about that, but I doubt if that is the issue).

Again, you probably want to edit your original post because it links to your vacation photos (note: this is also a common mistake, changing the text for a link but not the link itself, I have done this myself more than once).

thanks for the clarification.  After I cleared the Win10 Firefox Browser cache, I logged into my wife's google account and went to "https://photos.google.com/u/0/sharing". No luck, the shared Album is not there either. Any other suggestions?
And thanks for the hint on the link. Got that one fixed.

Hi Volker,

It is strange. But you might try:
  1. Using a (I believe it is called) Private Window in Firefox for her account (I use Chrome and Incognito Mode, I haven't used Firefox in probably 6 years). The purpose of this is to try to force a new look at your wife's account info (and be sure there is no funny mixing of your data and hers).
  2. If that does not work, in your account, go to "Options" from the 3 dot menu of the Album, then get the "Link to share" copy it and email it (or go to the Private Window using your wife's account).
Whatever you do, do NOT try to Block and Unblock your wife's account.

Let me know if you figure it out or get some other symptoms.

OK, we got access back to the album by sharing it to my wife's Google Photo account in addition to her Gmail account. No sure what the difference is, since both accounts use the same credentials (UN / PW) to log in).

Does anyone have an idea what's going on? From the posts above it looks like an issue that impacts many users and I have yet to see a description / fix for the root cause of it.

Your wife's Google Photos is part of her Google account. The only difference is a different way of sharing/notifying. But both methods should work. If one of both did work I am not sure that it is the same issue as signaled by the 3 others (they cannot share with a specific person by any method in spite of not being blocked).

Albums do not contain photos, only links to photos. When albums are deleted the photos remain in https://photos.google.com or https://photos.google.com/archive and thus should not be in trash. Sharing your photos or albums with others should not make any difference. Albums shared with you by others will however disappear when the owner deletes or stops sharing the album. 
If nothing of the above does apply, and you did not delete the albums, it may be a (hopefully) temporary issue at Google.

I'm having a similar problem with one of my shared albums; it seems to have disappeared. I've checked with all the users and they can no longer see the album. Really hope someone can help or has had a similar issue resolved ? We have an important deadline today.

  • Shared albums can be shown in https://photos.google.com/sharing 
    or https://photos.google.com/albums. When it is no longer shared it will show up only in https://photos.google.com/albums. 
  • You can search for albums by typing any word of the title in the search box, or more words when there are more than 10 suggestions. 
  • You can also search with  Ctrl+F (Find) on a computer
  • Photos does index what it thinks is in the photo, and creates albums under "Things, Places and (when available and turned on) People. Try to find a photo of that album. Also the date or month may help. Once you found a photo you see in the info panel to which album(s) it was added. Clicking on the album name brings you to it. 
If the album really disappeared there are two possibilities: either you deleted it accidentally or there is a problem in the Photos database linked to your account. In both cases there is nothing we can do. You can submit feedback via the main menu of https://photos.google.com/. I have no idea whether that does help though. Let us know if it does.

There can be multiple reasons for the video not producing any audio.
  • You may not have allowed your camera app to access the microphone on your device.
  • The audio codec encoded by the camera app may not be compatible with Google Photos.
  • You may have muted the video, or the volume may be too low.
Can you verify these possibilities?
 
Nevertheless, can you try installing some different video player app like VLC & see whether that outputs the audio?

This is an intended behavior. Downloading a photo from Google Photos back to the device (phone/computer) will change the date of the photo itself.

If its so then it should must be changed with immediate actions , because the most important purpose for any user to use google photos is to empty its device's space hence after uploading photos to google photos mostly users delete the photos from device's storage but after doing so in future if user feels to take back its photos from Google photos the output which user will get back will be totally unorganized & nearly impossible or practically very difficult, time consuming  to reorganize it as let say for an example if any user downloads the pictures back from google photos to any device's storage let say the number of photos 6000 from previous 10 years, but now after downloading what the user will get back is that the all 6000 photos are taken today but actually they were taken on several different dates in previous 10 years. 

Google should provide solution to this problem with most priority as it is almost near to cheating, its like that we gave organized 6000 papers in files to the google & when we demanded back they gave us unorganized mixed 6000 papers which will become almost useless. 

GOOGLE PHOTOS INDIRECTLY FORCEFULLY RETAINING EVEN THOSE USERS WHO MAY WANTS TO DELETE THERE PHOTOS FROM THERE PLATFORM BUT WHEN THEY DOWNLOAD BACK THERE PHOTOS WHAT THEY WILL GET IS ALMOST USELESS NOW THEY DO NOT HAVE ANY SOLUTION EXCEPT USING GOOGLE PHOTOS OR OTHERWISE THEY SHOULD KEEP BACKUP OF THERE PHOTOGRAPHS FROM VERY FIRST DAY WHEN THEY STARTED USING GOOGLE PHOTOS WITH FULL RESPONSIBILITY ON THERE OWN IF THEY WILL DO SO THEN WHAT IS THE USE OF GOOGLE PHOTOS.
