Welcome to the Google Photos Help Forum.

I do understand the inconvenience as you're unable to create a movie in your Google Photos. Therefore, please follow the below steps to see if that helps:

• Make sure your device is up-to-date.
  
• Make sure the App is up-to-date.
  
• Try restarting the App through the following steps:
  
• Go to your App Settings.
• Click stop on the afflicted App with the Force Stop button.
• Wait a few seconds to make sure the App has stopped processing, and then attempt to re-start it.
• Close the background running apps through the following steps:
  
• Go to your App Settings.
• Display the Active Apps on your device.
• Select the App you wish to close and Force Stop it.
• Repeat this step with all active Apps.
• Try clearing your App cache through the following steps:
  
• Tap the system Settings tab on the main screen of your device.
• Tap the General section of settings that is on the far right.
• Tap Storage in the General tab.
• Clear the cache data once storage calculates the data.
• Back out of the storage section. 
• Tap Applications and find the application in question.
• Tap the application and clear the cache (if available).

I have 25 albums that I've uploaded to Google Photos. I was able to share 12 albums successfully with 6 people.

For some reason, I cannot share the other 13 albums. I do the same steps and share the albums to the same 6 people, but the sharing operation is just being ignored (I can see it when I entered the albums).

No error, no message. No indication that something went wrong.

Any idea why does it happen? Is there any limit for sharing albums with others?

Does Google Photo provide the same seamless experience for iOS or is it more like a backup service and I will have to keep my pictures and videos on both, Google Photos and my device?

Google Photos does not behave the same way.  Images are copied to the cloud then "Free up space" can be used to remove the device copy.  Some apps may not work optimally if there is not a local device copy.

 

You can use Google Photos to edit the cloud copy.  Snapseed is fairly seamless in retrieving the cloud copy, but you may need to be thoughtful when saving the image.

You don't need to keep images in both places. You can always redownload or delete the image from the device.

 

Note: One thing to keep in mind is that Google Photos and iCloud Photo Library do not interact well together and should not be used simultaneously on the same device.

 

As a long time user of Google Photos on Android (previously) and iOS, I am happy with how it behaves. If you are a long time iCloud Photos user and you like it, you might be frustrated with Google Photos' behavior.

 

It is always a good idea to store important images in more than one place / tool.  My photos are in Google Photos, on my laptop, and on multiple external disk drives (not connected to any computer or network).

Welcome to Google Photos Community Support Forum & thanks for your query.

 

When the quantum of photos to awaiting the free up action is too large & also the phone has very little space, the "free up space" command fails to do anything. 

The app may also crash.

 

To mitigate the problem, please start deleting manually. 

To do so, tap to open the photo. If you find an option "Delete from device" below the pic, tap that.

 

Once a sizable space is free, you can use the "Free up space" option without any glitch.

However, before deleting any picture, it's always prudent to copy those on some external HDD. That eliminates the chance of any accidental loss of the media from the phone or cloud.
