Deleting location history does not impact the location data on images.

 

It is always a good idea to store important images in more than one place / tool.  My photos are in Google Photos, on my laptop, and on multiple external disk drives (not connected to any computer or network).

Welcome to Google Photos Community Support Forum & thanks for your post.

 

There is no option to set a password to the Google Photos app.

 

Nevertheless, to protect your content in Google Photos, you will have to follow these steps.

• Set up two-step authentication for your Google account.
• Change the password to a complex combination of letters, numerals & special characters. No one should be able to guess the password.
• Never share your password with anyone.
• Use screen pinning when you hand over your phone to someone for making a call etc.
• Log off from browsing sessions from desktop PCs.
• Check the devices you continue to remain logged in through the link https://myaccount.google.com/device-activity. Remove any unknown device.
• Do not share your photos & videos with anyone when you are suspicious about falling into the wrong hands.
• Remove any partner sharing for the same reason.
• Refrain from sharing your photos & videos on any social media.

Once you ensure every step as above, there wouldn't be any possibility of your photos & videos ever getting leaked.

Unless they shared them with you you can't.  Per: Back up photos & videos (Excerpt):

• Privately stored: Photos and videos backed up from your device are private unless you share them.

If they were shared to you directly in Google Photos you can find them in the "Sharing" section (or at https://photos.google.com/u/0/sharing ). If you want to add them into you "Photos" Library you can use the Add to Library (cloud with down arrow icon) function.

It's very handy to be able to find matching pictures on the Internet, but what's REALLY needed is a way to search your PERSONAL picture collection(s) for matching subjects.

Example:  I have a photo of my brother, and I want to find all pictures (on my hard drive) that my brother is in.  I should be able to do a reverse image search that will pull up that criterion.

I can't fathom why this hasn't been incorporated into the operating system already.  (Frankly, it's unbelievable that it hasn't been!!)

I'm sorry, but that may not be possible if they're either:

a.) been permanently deleted from the Trash Bin

b.) stayed in the Trash Bin for more than 60 days, after which they will permanently be deleted

Once they're deleted from the Trash Bin, they are gone for good.

I permanently deleted some photos from Google Photos about a year ago that I now realize I really, really want back. I took the photos in 2015 but deleted them from Google Photos last year. It's obviously been more than 60 days since I deleted them, so I can't just go to my trash bin and restore them, they are permanently gone.
