Our age under 18 users in workspace education are experiencing errors trying to access sharing in google photos and get the message "Sharing is turned off". If an over 18 user tries to share to them, they get a message "Trouble sending photos. Try again later". The google under 18 restrictions indicate partner sharing will be blocked but it seems its blocking all forms of sharing instead? Other than putting them as over 18(which is incorrect) which is a workaround, what else can be done? Contacted google support but was lead back here instead.

Unfortunately we can't help, as volunteers we are never given any information not in the public domain and this a question we have asked more than once with respect to 'regular' accounts seeing the same notification.

The only thing which has caused problems recently is an Account restriction which affects sharing and requires Age verification. https://myaccount.google.com/age-verification?utm_source=p0

One thing which could affect things is a Family group where the option has been disabled by a parent.

Another is the contact details, rather than selecting an offered contact, type the email address in full and press Return

We can only build experience from feedback received so would be grateful if anything is found to resolve the issue.

I certainly understand the importance of ones photos. Please know that, photos and videos you take with your device's camera and photos saved on your phone will be backed up to your Google Photos library when you turn on backup and sync.

If you have back up & sync on, photos and videos you delete will stay in your trash for 60 days. Any changes you make will be mirrored on every synced device. For example, if you edit and save a photo on your phone, it will look the same on photos.google.com.

On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google Photos app .
At the top left, tap Menu Trash .
Touch and hold the photo or video you want to recover.
At the bottom, tap Restore. The photo or video will be back:
- In your phone
- Into the "Photos" section of the app.
- Into any albums it was in.

Also, if something isn't in your trash, it can't be restored. You won't be able to restore a photo if:

You moved it to trash more than 60 days ago.
You moved it to trash, then emptied your trash.
You permanently deleted it from your trash.
You permanently deleted it from your device's Gallery app, without being backed up.
