Normal screenshots would have been no problem, but the files can be very small thumbnails (less then 256x256 pixels) or have some absurd format that they are not compatible with Google Photos and thereby not shown in the Google app. 
Or they are in a non-synced folder under Pictures on device and then you have to open that folder to be able to switch backup on. Do this when the pictures are valuable for you only. 
Hard to say more about, so good luck. 

PS: what is called "albums" in the samsung gallery are no albums, but folders. And what is called albums in Google Photos are no folders :-)

I only want them to receive a notification in their app.  When I paste their emal into search box it doesn't show the small google photo icon below the avatar. And even if I click share - my friend doesn't receive the my photo in his app. He only receives an email with the link.
I found out after a couple of weeks that google finaly recordnized one of my friends.
Ideally I want to be able to create a list of friends who have google photos account. Is there a way to do that without sending my picture as a link to their mail box?

I'll be happy to help.

Know what 'remove results' option is for:

If you see a photo that's in the wrong group, you can take it out.
  1. Open the group you want to remove something from.
  2. Select the photo you want to remove.
  3. At the top right, click More , then Remove results.
Note: This will not delete the photo or video from your Google Photos library. This wouldn't be blocked from being indexed nor will Google Photos then pick up the other person in the photo as person A.

Here's a help article for your reference to know more about face grouping and adding a label.

The Google Photos app acts as a portal viewer & shows content from the phone & cloud.

Nevertheless, the primary intention of Google Photos is to enable users to store everything on the cloud & free up the phone's memory.

That means the backup must be on permanently. That removes the need to classify the pics.

The trouble arises when you switch off the backup & sync & then the app can't upload anything even through the camera folder.

Nevertheless, if you want to see the backed-up content only, visit the link https://photos.google.com. There you will not see any non-backed-up content.

Hello Maggie,
  1. Open Google Photos
  2. Tab Library
  3. Tap the desired folder under Photos on device
  4. Select photos by long pressing then tap others after the tick confirms the first selection
    • You can also long press and stroke down to select a batch
  5. Tap the 3 dot menu top right
  6. Tap Move to folder
  7. Tap New SD folder, type a folder name then tap Create
Note that if the photos are backed up to Google Photos this will not remove them from the Photos view and even if the new folder is not selected for Backup & sync any contents will still be deleted if deleted using the Google Photos app.
 
You should also have a setting in your camera app which saves new photos to the SD card.
