Nevertheless, I suggest you clar the chaced & stored data of the photos app through the following steps.
I suggest you clear the cached & stored data of the Google Photos app & then reinstall the app.
You can do that through these steps.
- On your Android phone, open the Settings.
- Tap Apps and notifications.
- Tap Show all apps.
- Tap Google Photos.
- Tap Storage and cache.
- Tap Clear storage.
- Next, uninstall the Google Photos app.

Pixel 3a through 5 get free storage at High quality, all uploads at Original size count against the storage allocation.
Please go to https://photos.google.com/settings and use the Recover storage button to reduce the storage used.
