And not clear what is so distracting or unhandy? 
So we can't help you. 
But the simple Google Gallery Go app maybe more comfortable for you.

So, I'm in the process of uploading all my photos and home videos to Google.  One problem I'm having is over the last 20 years, I have a ton of duplicate photos and videos.  I have over 30,000 images and videos in my google photos.  I want to get rid of the duplicates.  Sounds like there's no way to do it within google photos itself.  So, what I wanted to do was to download all the images using google takeout.   Then I'd deduplicate them on a PC.  Erase all my photos from Google Photos, then reimport all the images back into Google Photos.  But, I don't know how to delete them all.  Or does anyone have a better way to find duplicates?  I was assuming with google's AI, they'd scan my images and videos and offer to delete the duplicates.

Answer:

There is no easy way to delete duplicates indeed (see How to prevent/remove duplicates), but also not to delete 30.000 photos. You can either:
  • Select batches of max 500 items and move them to the trash bin
  • Select all photos in an album and move them to the trash bin (via 3-dots). It is possible (but am not sure) that t​​​his method allows to delete more than 500 in one go (it works for downloading).

This should help you find what you are sharing..
 
If you drill into one of the items you can probably figure out what you want to do (e.g., possibly delete a shared album, etc).
 
It seems unlikely that you turned on Partner Sharing (but it will be obvious from the link above if you did).

There are multiple ways to move the photos on the phone's internal memory to an SD card. 
However, moving those through the Google Photos app allows retaining the backup and sync aspect.
 
To move the pics to SD, I suggest you follow the steps as outlined here.
  • Open Google Photos.
  • Tab Library.
  • Tap the desired folder under Photos on the device like Camera, Screenshots etc.
  • Select photos by long pressing then, tap others after the tick confirms the first selection
  • To select a batch, you can also long-press and stroke down while still in a pressed condition.
  • Next, tap the three-dot menu at the top right corner
  • Tap "Move to folder".
  • Tap "New SD folder", type a folder name, then tap "Create".
Note that if the photos are already there in Google Photos, this will not remove them from the Photos. Also, even if you do not select the new folder for Backup & sync, any contents thereupon will still be deleted if you delete that using the Google Photos app.

Question: My photos are too bright. Like an abstract. Help!



Photos being too bright is in most cases a camera issue. If not extreme you can try to edit the photo:
  1. Open the photo 
  2. Tap on the "Edit" icon (3 sliders)
  3. You can now try "Improve" (my translation - text can be different)
  4. If that does not work well, swipe the row with "Suggestions, crop etc to the left and tap "Adjust"
    You can now adjust exposure, highlights etc. 
I usually do the editing in the web app https://photos.google.com/ in a browser on a computer:
  1. Open the photo
  2. Click on the "Edit" icon (3 sliders)
  3. In the next screen Click again the 3 sliders icon
  4. Click the v to the right of "Light" to get the edit options
  5. Reduce Exposure and/or Highlights
  6. You may have to add a little "Pop" (the last option after Light and Color)
When the photo is much too bright that will not give a good result. If needed you can post (the link to) an example here.
