The "Save photos" icon will copy images from a shared album to your Google Photos Library. It DOES NOT create an album and the photos may be difficult to find since they will be in your Library by date taken (but at least you have the images). If the albums are for events, like specific holidays in a given year, it might not be difficult to recreate fairly similar albums in your Google Photos account.

Remember, this link MAY be helpful in identifying some albums of interest.

I found the issue… kinda. My phone was on silent mode. Apparently this is an issue with multiple apps with iOS 15. You can't hear the audio in many apps if you're in Silent Mode. Turn off Silent Mode, and you can hear the audio again.

Of course, you should be able to hear the audio regardless of whether you're on Silent Mode or not. So this is a fix that needs to happen in the Google Photos app, I believe.

Pixel phone owners do not get unlimited storage.

However, the app doesn't count the size when the pic is through a pixel phone.
You can keep on adding as many zero size pictures to the basic 15 GB storage without any effect. But, the allotted space remains 15 GB only.

On your Android phone, open the Settings.
Tap Apps and notifications.

Power off the phone & then restart.

Depends on what folder on Drive you are talking: the Google Photos folder or the Computer-tab or just folders created by you.

The Google Photos folder can be deleted completely if you are not interested to have a secundary backup in the cloud without any costs up to about July 10.

The folder in Computer-tab can't be deleted because they probably still are synced with folders on your computer via the Backup & Sync installed on your computer. If never installed the Computer-tab is not present in Drive either.

Your own folders also maybe synced to computer via the Backup & Sync app, but if that app is not used, they are not synced either and probably they will have no relation with Google Photos at all.

That's all what can be said about.

Could you please elaborate the issue or your query for me to assist you better? If you've deleted them from Google Photos and want to restore them, please know that photos/videos deleted from the Google Photos library, goes to the Trash for the next 60 days. So, in case, you deleted it by mistake you can always restore it from Trash folder within those 60 days (post deletion). But, if you don't find it in Trash, probably it must have been deleted more that 60 days ago. Unfortunately, restoring your lost/deleted photos and videos from Trash is the last resort.

Another way to force sorting people, is by creating new albums with the photos you want searching. This makes Google scan these photos for the things, people and places within.

As far as I know, the plan requires you subscribe for one year at least.

Nevertheless, if you buy the storage, load data beyond 15 GB & then do not renew the subscription, you will lose access to Gmail, Google Drive & photos.
If you continue doing so for two years, Google will remove your account.
