This is a follow-up to a support case I opened with a support specialist a couple of weeks ago (Case# 5-9322000031532). I was told to make a post here to give consent to developers to investigate the issue on my Photos account?

The issue is I am unable to share location data with the Partner Sharing feature.

According to the Help Center article here, removing a partner and inviting them again will allow you to change location sharing settings for your partner. However, even after doing so I am still left with the location data sharing disabled in my account. (despite the confirmation screen in the invite showing otherwise). Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Sorry, we are volunteers and have no access to any process for leaving consent to developers. Perhaps they meant you to use the feedback option in Google Photos to send feedback with that permission.

I can only share what I see after setting up sharing, assuming you removed the partner and checked it was removed from both accounts before starting the share again.

Years ago I used Picasa Web Albums and I vaguely remember an option there, or when it first became Google Photos, to show or hide location data when sharing photos. I am pretty sure that I turned that option to "hide". The option no longer exists. I wonder if it's still set to "hide\

The option to show or hide location data when sharing photos has been moved from the general settings to an option per shared album.

You cannot make albums "public" in Google Photos, but you may have old public "Picasaweb" albums.

First: how to check which albums are public:

Go to https://get.google.com/albumarchive when signed in.
A long number will be added to that URL.
Open an incognito, Private or Inprivate window.
See https://www.digitalcitizen.life/how-browse-web-incognito-all-big-browsers
Paste the long URL (with number)
You now see what is public and everyone can see.

I think that the only way to make an public album "Private" is

Add the photos to a new album (if you want to keep it as private)
Delete the old "public" album in https://photos.google.com/albums.

This is definitely a regression with iOS 15 and incorrect behavior. Other media apps (YT, Apple Photos) definitely do play video sound when the ringer is set to silent.

The Google Photos app acts as a portal to view the Device copy AND the Google Photos 'backed up' copy. It does not store any photos.

This usually means that if you delete from the Camera roll and it disappears from the Google Photos app view then the photo is not backed up to Google Photos. Photos actually IN Google Photos can only be seen at the Google Photos Backup location - Tap here

How/where did you delete the photos? In the web app on a computer?
Do you also use Google Photos on mobile devices? If you do so, and "Backup and sync" is disabled on the phone, a copy may stay on the phone, and reappear in the web app when you enable B&S again.
Things are also different when you have an Android or iPhone. Let us know which one you have.

Following is the text from the official Google Photos Help page about deleting and restoring photos and videos:

Files that existed only on your phone, ones that were never uploaded to the cloud, cannot be recovered or restored by a cloud storage service. Simply put, Google can't help you recover files it never had in the first place.
