I have tried google photos on multiple devices. From several months, I'm experiencing the bug where every single photo gets blacked out when editing. Even the latest version of Google photos app didn't help me either. I still have no way to figure out what's happening on the editor.

Tried on

1) Android 8.0 GO

Greentel X1_Light

(Somewhat based on a Google Pixel Model)

2) Huawei Y6II CAM_L21

3) Huawei Y541_U02

4) Samsung Galaxy M01

None of these devices had shown any progress.

However, you can use the app without an account.

I have been using Google Photos' face filter feature for a while and over the past few months I have named and created face filters for numerous people but all of a sudden these name face filters have gone missing and Photos is just adding random pics to one singular face filter. I recently removed a bunch and then when I uploaded a bunch of new photos it added practically the entire upload to that face filter and none of the people in the photos even resemble the cover face filter. Welcome to the Google Photos Help Forum.

I do understand the inconvenience as the photos of your Gmail account are showing up in the work account. 

Therefore, it might be that you've shared your Google Photos library with that account and you can stop sharing that through the below steps:

• On your iPhone or iPad, open the Google Photos app .
• Sign in with the Google Account that was invited.
• Tap Menu.
• Select Settings.
• Click on Shared libraries.
• Next to your partner's email address, tap More.
• Select Stop sharing your library. 

For more information, please check the Help Center Article on stop sharing your library.
