This has been working for a LONG time (years), and it worked as of 7/31/19. Has something changed? I've tried different browsers, etc. JPGs upload fine, but not .ORF files.

Hi Daniel, do you have a sample which can be shared via a link in Google Drive.
 
Also confirm that the files are virgin output from the camera and not edited in any way,

Thank you Daniel, I can confirm that there is a problem uploading, but it looks like there is something wrong with the image which is causing it.
 
You didn't confirm that the file was a virgin output from the camera and not edited in any way!

Yes, it's a virgin file. I modified the filename, but other than that it's identical. To be sure, I actually grabbed the file directly from the SD card where it was originally stored and uploaded that...with the same results. I did upload that file as well to Google Drive, under the name of "00000525.ORF". (Same link as before: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1g6gGkXIweMlOw15AjmQ-b3lOowrwogUX?usp=sharing)

I've had this same issue for months.  I opened a Google one support issue on it 1 month ago.
TODAY (1/23/2020) it appears to have worked... can anyone confirm?
Google can you provide any insight as to how or why this change occurred?

My downloads from different apps, like Facebook, and screenshots are automatically sorted in the camera folder in google photos, even though my gallery is sorted well and each picture is in its correct folder. Therefore, they get backed up with my camera's photos and videos, and I do not want that. The first pic is how my photos in google photos are organised, the second pic is how my photos are organised in my gallery.
How do I fix this problem, how do I sort downloads and screenshots away from my camera folder, put them in a seperate folder like in my gallery, and prevent them from backing up?

Eternal problem because your phonemanufacturer has made the mistake to put the screenshot folder in DCIM and the facebook messenger has made the same mistake. And google has made the mistake to name the DCIM-folder "Camera\

Note that this deletes stuff permanently. There is no way back. 
I recommend to have them at least in 2 (not two-way synced) places.

My daughter has her google account created through google family link and is managed by myself as she is under 13.  She is included in my google family and I can share app purchases, google movies, google books etc.. but when I try to share family photos with her through google photo I just get the error saying "problem sending invitation, please try later".  The family group appears as an option when trying to share but always fails unless I remove my daughter from the group. She has permissions to the google photo app on her device and has permissions to share and can share her photo's with me and my wife but we can't share anything with her.  Any Idea's?

Hey Amanda, thanks for your reply.  Yes I can share individual and albums with others but not my daughter even though she has a google photo account.  Anytime I select my daughter's account as the target I get the error mentioned in my original post, which is not very informative.  Her account is a child account that I created for her and is managed under my account, but she still has a google email address via this and google photo account.

I had this exact same problem so I thought I would see if anyone found a solution. I had to download Gmail in order to accept the google photo's share invitation on my daughter's device. After I accepted the invite, the album appeared on her google photo's account as a share.

Try to copy direct Album Link under your parent account, then log in under your child account and just open the link in the browser. An Album will be opened with a Button Accept invitation (Beitreten in my case, as we are germans). Press the Button and the Album will be visible under Share.

But it seems like I cannot change current tags, or add aditional tags. Face grouping is turned on and works fine most of the times, but in the cases it doesn't I want to be able to change that face.

I can see that this has been a problem for a while and I really want Google to know that this is annoying, they should fix the problem and keep users in the loop for when this will be fixed, hopefully soon!
