My daughter's Dad got her a phone & he used one of his emails when he set the phone up. We live in 2 different states so I'm trying to figure out how to do this.

If I take a picture with the phone, then go to Google photos, I see they are there automatically. But when he gets on his own phone, & goes to Google photos (under the same email) the pictures that I see, are not showing up for him. 

Is there a way that we can have all photos taken with my daughters phone, viewable to him or I, on our own devices, by logging into the same email account on Google Photos? Without having to go & share each photo or album? Is it possible for all pictures on her phone to just automatically be on that Google photo account? Then we would both just keep that account on our on phone so there is no need to have to send the picture everytime.

You don't tell about the age of the daughter, but it looks a rather sick situation. 

If I was that daughter I would not even like that my parents can view my photos, so I won't allow that Google Photos stores them automatically - I would just keep them on my phone for own use - probably via Whatsapping with my own friends merely. 

But normally pictures backupped via another account, just can be seen by adding that account to the Google Photos app under its 3 small lines. Just for viewing temporarily when that account is selected. 

But if the pictures were not backupped, they can't be seen of course. 

If daughter never uses the Google app, they hardly get chance to get backupped ever even when her settings were correct.

Hello Renea,

1. Open Google Photos
2. Tab Library
3. Tap the desired folder under Photos on device
4. Select photos by long pressing then tap others after the tick confirms the first selection
   • You can also long press and stroke down to select a batch
5. Tap the 3 dot menu top right
6. Tap Move to folder
7. Tap New SD folder, type a folder name then tap Create

Note that if the photos are backed up to Google Photos this will not remove them from the Photos view and even if the new folder is not selected for Backup & sync any contents will still be deleted if deleted using the Google Photos app.

 

You should also have a setting in your camera app which saves new photos to the SD card.

Did you accidentally place these photos and videos in the "Trash"?  If you did, only a G Suite (I think that's what they're called) Specialist MAY be able to recover your photos.  If you didn't, you may be able to recover them.

Google Photos works by backing up the photos on each device to the web, first make sure you are signed in to each device with the same Gmail name.

 

Photos from each device can be viewed at https://photos.google.com/ but the physical photos are not synchronised down to the devices, each device only stores photos taken with it but you should be able to see all the photos via the Photos page of the app if signed in with the same account,
