Hi, Malshi Himasha
Welcome to Google Photos Community Support Forum & thanks for your query.
However, had you backed up your screenshot to Google Photos?
Further, did you delete those through Google Photos?
If yes, then you would find the deleted screenshot in the bin, provided you have not emptied the bin also.

Hi, Malshi Himasha
Thanks for your reply
However, Google Photos never deletes something without any command from the user.
Do you remember what actions you tool before the pictures vanished?
Or do you share your phone or account details with someone?
Can you check whether that person has dome something inadvertently?

Question: Gallery folder is missing after goggle photos free up space
Gallery folder photos missing
Hi, Kishor Adhav
Welcome to Google Photos Community Support Forum & thanks for your query.
The free up option removes the originals of backed up pics from the phone & hence those are missing from the gallery.
That creates space to capture new photos.
Restoring the backed up pictures would be defeating the whole purpose of the free up space exercise.

To bring back the pics to your phone's gallery either, you can download photos one by one.
Regrettably, there is no option to do so on a batch of photos.
Alternatively, you can install the Google One app. There is a one time option to restore up to two hundred most recent photos to the device.
However, that will not restore the local folder structure.
There is no requirement to join Google One. The option is available to everyone.
However, the method may not be helpful to recover something when the count is more than two hundred.
Or, you can arrange for a bulk download by visiting the link https://takeout.google.com/.
Select the Google Photos app for data download.
Once the file is ready, you will get an email. Access that & unzip all the attachments into your phone's gallery.
That will bring everything to your phone.
Still, for more information, I suggest you visit this link https://sites.google.com/site/picasaresources/google-photos-1/how-to-transfer-google-photos-back-to-your-camera.

The Google Photos app acts like a portal viewer showing everything from our phone and also the content backed up to the cloud,
Then, that creates a impression of everything getting backed up perfectly.
However, we need to check the status of backup periodically and look for the messages on "Backup and Sync" menu.
Further, we have to ensure every folder on our device is included in the backup & none shows a cloud symbol with slash.
If nothing was backed up to the cloud in the first place, regretfully, there is no way to recover those pics through Google Photos.

After losing my pictures once already, I have to take a step back when it comes to trusting Google with any process again, if I wanted to free up by deleting my pictures I would have done it myself, that is something you can't get back, I really want to thank all you for great suggestions, when I gain some confidence in Google I will cetainly give them a try. Thank you all

to get missing photos bqck they arent in tge bin but has been less than 60 days
Hi, Cody Smart
Welcome to Google Photos Community Support Forum & thanks for your query.
The photos are not in the bin means those are permanently deleted now.
Once a user deletes something permanently despite a warning message or allows the content to time out in the bin, Google doesn't maintain any backup.
There is no way to get back the content through Google Photos.
Nevertheless, you may install to your Android device a deleted photo recovery app (be sure to not pick one that requires rooting) https://play.google.com/store/search?q=recover%20deleted%20photos&c=apps;
and run a scan for anything to recover.

Hey there,
Your deleted photos will be saved in Trash for a short period of 60 days. After that time period trash will be cleared and everything will be lost for permenantly.
Thanks!
Answer:
Hi ravinder singh 4078,
Sreelal TS is right - Once you delete them from the trash they are permanently deleted; they are only recoverable in 60 days if they are still in the trash. You can try a few options that might help recover some but not 100% guaranteed.
- Contact the Google Drive team and say you want to recover files - click on the contact us option on this link.
- You can try using a third party photo recovery app at this point to try to recover some of what was lost from your phone - just type photo recovery into the play store and see what options are available. I can't recommend any as haven't used one personally but some people do have success that way.

First, understand, this is a peer support forum where volunteers answer the queries.
We, volunteers, are users of Google Photos like anyone else and do not have any extra privileges.
Google employees or representatives aren't reading the posts, usually.
Further, please understand the dilemma.
If Google follows the practice of maintaining the data even after the user deletes that, then there will be another complaint.
"Google is retaining our data despite I do not wish doing so."
Thus, if you have deleted the data, Google will not go against your wish.
Despite this, I suggested a plausible way to recover the data through your phone using some deleted file recovery program. Can you try that?

Hi, BIG BROTHER LOGISTICS INC. Binali
Welcome to Google Photos Community Support Forum & thanks for your query.
When you delete a photo in Google Photos it will also be deleted from all synced devices. In practice that are only mobile devices (phones and tablets) since syncing with computers has been disabled. There are however ways to do this:
- Disable Backup and sync on the device
- Move the photo to a non-synced folder before you delete it from Google Photos.
- Once done, open the link https://photos.google.com through any browser on your phone, log into your Google Account & start deleting the unwanted pics.

Hi, masa tube

At present, you can set only the WhatsApp status or send the pics to someone through a message.
However, the same is not possible for setting the DP in WhatsApp.
Nevertheless, you can access the Google Photos cloud storage through WhatsApp & change the DP.
