Question: I want to backup photos only!

Hello R_A_U_T ',
Welcome to Google Photos Community.

There is no specific option to only backup photos and not video, the below steps can stop a whole folder to stop back up or a folder fully backup.

You can either delete those vedios after they back up or you can stop such folders from backing for eg you can disable what's app video backup but in same scenario you cannot disable camera folder because it has both photos + video.

Go to Google photos > Library > photos on my Device & click on view all > click on Screenshot folder > then disable backup & sync.

Hope this helps.
Thanks.

I believe you want to convert the automatically generated memories into an album or collage.

You will find the memories at the top while you are in the photos tap.
Next, tap any memory, tap the three dots & then select "Add to album".
Once saved, you can make collage through utlities.

Hi, Sathish S shetty

Welcome to Google Photos Community Support Forum & thanks for your query.

However, had you backed up your pics to Google Photos?
Further, did you delete those through Google Photos?
If yes, then you would find the deleted pics in the bin, provided you have not emptied the bin also.

Answer:

Hi,  Sathish S shetty

Thanks for your reply

However, once a user deletes something permanently despite a warning message or allows the content to time out in the bin, Google doesn't maintain any backup.
There is no way to get back the content through Google Photos.

Nevertheless, you may install to your Android device a deleted photo recovery app (be sure to not pick one that requires rooting) https://play.google.com/store/search?q=recover%20deleted%20photos&c=apps;
and run a scan for anything to recover.

Question: Please help me to recover my google photos

Hi mayank,
Once you delete them from the trash they are permanently deleted; they are only recoverable in 60 days if they are still in the trash.

You can try using a third party photo recovery app at this point to try to recover some of what was lost from your phone - just type photo recovery into the play store and see what options are available. I can't recommend any as haven't used one personally but some people do have success that way.

Question: How to recover deleted photos and videos

Hello I want to recover photos and videos

Hello Harmeet Singh 1660 ,

If you have uploaded photos on google photos and deleted it please take a look at the below info.

Following is text from the official Google Photos Help page about deleting and restoring photos and videos:

Restore photos & videos
If you deleted an item and want it back, check your trash to see if it’s there.
  1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google Photos app .
  2. At the bottom, tap Library  Trash .
  3. Touch and hold the photo or video you want to restore.
  4. At the bottom, tap Restore. The photo or video will be back:
    • In your phone’s gallery app
    • In your Google Photos library
    • In any albums it was in
If the item is not in your trash, it may be permanently deleted.
    Important:
    • If you delete a photo or video that’s backed up in Google Photos, it will stay in your trash for 60 days.
    • If you delete an item from your Android device without it being backed up, it will stay in your trash for 60 days.
    • If you see a photo or video in Google Photos that you think you deleted, it might be on a removable memory card. To delete it, use your device’s gallery app.
    Empty your trash
If you see a request to "Delete permanently" when you try to move an item to trash, your trash is full. Your trash can hold 1.5GB.

Important: If you empty your trash, you permanently delete any items in your trash.

Don't see the photo or video?
If a deleted photo or video isn't in trash, you can’t restore it. You won't be able to restore a photo if:
    • You moved it to trash more than 60 days ago.
    • You moved it to trash, then emptied your trash.
    • You permanently deleted it from your trash.
    • You permanently deleted it from your device’s Gallery app, without backing it up first.
When you attempt to manually empty the trash bin in Google Photos, a warning message box appears that explains you are about to permanently delete those pictures and videos. If you choose to proceed anyway, there is nothing that any of the volunteers in this forum can do to help you recover your pictures.

The information on the following Google Photos Help pages will help you become more familiar with finding, deleting, and restoring your pictures:

If you deleted pictures or videos that were not previously backed up to your account through the Google Photos app, then unfortunately there's nothing that Google or any of the volunteers in this Help Community can do to recover them.

Files that existed only on your phone, ones that were never uploaded to the cloud, cannot be recovered or restored by a cloud storage service. Simply put, Google can't help you recover files it never had in the first place.

    Thanks.

I have always have android now forced to have a iPhone due to phone broken to pieces I have locked/hiddenvideos and photos I need from my other device to my new device or cloud to cloud however that works

    Answer:

    Hi, Rodney Stewart

Welcome to Google Photos Community Support Forum & thanks for your query.

The photos in locked folder reside only on the device.

When we move any picture to the locked folder, the app flashes a message saying "Items won't be backed up or shared".
Thus, there wouldn't be anything on the cloud.

If your phone is broken to pieces, regretfully, there is no way to get back the pics as there won't be any backup.

You can extract a still frame from a video through these steps.
    • Tap to open the video
    • Tap once again to make the controls visible
    • Tap the edit icon  at the bottom
    • Tap on the middle to make the frame selector visible.
    • Mover the frame selector. You will see a preview of the frame above the selector. Once you decide about the right frame, then tap on export.
That frame will get saved as a still photo in your collection
