Regretfully, there is no provision in the Google Photos editor to add some watermark.
You will have to look for some proprietary photo editing app to do so.

Hi Neale,
I'm assuming you mean the locations sort that show up when you open Google Photos and select the search field, which shows locations?
The locations view are auto created by Google Photos as part of the search function to help people easily find images by people, places or things without having to manually tag or sort images. It cannot be turned off, although you can choose to not record location information in your camera, or turn off location information when sharing images. Go to Google Photos > left menu > Settings location sharing.

I like to sort my photos into albums, but when looking through my photo stream I can't see a way of telling which photos I've already added to an album, and which ones I've missed and still need adding. It's there a quick way of telling if a photo is in an album or not?
Answer:
- You can see in the info field of each photo to which album(s) it is added.
- Many asked for it but there is still no way to search for all photos that are NOT in an album.
- The following can help:
- Add new photos systematically to albums, for example after an event or weekly/monthly
- Add the backlog from top to bottom. Difficult cases can be added to a buffer or year album
- In case of doubt: just add to the album. The same photo will not be added twice.
- When you upload from folders on a computer, you can upload the same batch again directly to the album, for example by drag & drop. Already uploaded photos will NOT be uploaded again (if not edited after 1st upload), but still added to the album.

Answer:
Hi Eliana,
>>> I have all my photos saved elsewhere and I do not want any photos synced on Google Photos anymore. Anytime I try to delete all the content it’s states it’s gonna delete off my iCloud & phone
Yes. Be VERY careful and proceed slowly.
Please see this post:
In your case, this warning seems to apply:
"~iCloud Photo Library~ and Google Photos have different approaches to data management and should not be used simultaneously. When you use the trash can (or even "Free up space" or "Delete device copy") in Google Photos ~iCloud Photos~ is deleting the image also."
After you turn off "Back up & sync" confirm that when you delete a low priority (or test image) in https://photos.google.com/u/0/ that it is not deleted from your phone or iCloud.
As I say in the post, personally I would probably delete the Google Photos app from the phone after turning off "Back up & sync".
If you are syncing Google Photos from any other devices or computers besides your phone, it could be even more complex and risky.

Hi, Ericson Allan
Welcome to Google Photos Community Support Forum & thanks for your query.
However, once a user deletes something permanently despite a warning message or allows the content to time out in the bin, Google doesn't maintain any backup.
There is no way to get back the content through Google Photos.
Nevertheless, you may install to your Android device a deleted photo recovery app (be sure to not pick one that requires rooting) https://play.google.com/store/search?q=recover%20deleted%20photos&c=apps;
and run a scan for anything to recover.

Hi Danielle,
Sorry you are having issues. You should be able to rename grouped faces.
Please make sure you are navigating to the Albums ![]()
section and then selecting the People & Pets album.
On the Web
When you select a face from this view, it will show you all photos of that person and at the top of the page when you hover over their name with your mouse and an Edit Pen
will appear. Clicking this will allow you to change the name of the grouped face.
If it does not appear, please sign into Google Photos in a different browser or an Incognito Window in Chrome and try these same steps.
In the App
When you select a face from this view, it will show you all photos of that person. Click on the 3-dot menu
in the top right and select Edit Name Label.
You can then type in a new name and that grouped face will be renamed.
Please let me know if this fixes your issue!

Question: Is Google Photos adopting Apple's Terrible Photo Management Approach?
I am struggling to get my head round what Google is trying to do with its separation of Google Photo…
I am struggling to get my head round what Google is trying to do with its separation of Google Photos and Google Drive. Like many others in this community, I am old school and like to arrange my photos & videos manually on my hard drive because I like the fact that I can place photos that have incorrect timestamps in the right folder and group photos in the way that seems logical to me. Importantly I also, and perhaps this is the crux, don't want to be bound to any one photo service - this is the main reason that I have NEVER used Apple's iPhoto service as it has a horrible method of storage that I cannot see or understand and exporting to another service is a nightmare.
Before this bizarre separate, I loveD the fact that I could do this on Google Drive in a way that makes sense to me (and is easily backed up) and yet all the files were fully accessible with all the excellent Google Photos features (face recognition primarily) since Google Photos was able to access all content in my Google Drive. This is the main reason that I continued to use Google Drive over Dropbox. Dropbox is way slicker than Google Drive overall, but their photo service is nothing special as far as I can see hence I have split my files between both systems with my media (photos / videos, etc.) primarily on Google Drive. If I can no longer use Google Photos with Google Drive, then it no longer makes sense for me to continue using Google Drive...
Does anyone know a way in which I can leverage all the great Google Photo features without moving my files outside of Google Drive?
Grateful for any ideas...

@Mark, you can switch over to the Backup side of Backup and Sync with the option to upload photos to Google Photos using preferences as per the screenshot <visible online>

This gives you a mirror hierarchy in Drive as per:

Answer:
Sorry Mark, I have deleted my initial reply because I was thinking the other way around.
But Peter's advice may be problematic also, because I assume that you have copied your local folders to Google Drive and contents of these folders was shown in Google Photos.
Is this still the case or are they all gone after July 10?
If so, normal use of backup & sync may result in a large amount of duplicates on Google Photos because all gets uploaded again. And your folders duplicate on Google Drive, but in a special section that takes no additional storage above your current usage.
There-after your original folders can be deleted from Drive, but we can't predict what will happen on Google Photos. I do think it is the best to set-up new folders outside your current mainfolder and restrict the syncing and uploading to these new folders selected.
I will leave further contacts to Peter now.

Answer:
Dear Peter and Rinus,
Thank you both for your quick responses. I think my problem precedes the point at which Peter's suggested solution kicks in. Like most people, most of my photos come from my phone - either I take photos with my phone or I receive photos from friends and family via my phone (Whatsapp, email etc.). Therefore, my first challenge is how to get my photos from my phone to my computer.
Google has now removed the phone photo/video backup to Google drive feature, so I think the only way to backup my photos to a hard drive/cloud drive is by using Dropbox if I want to have my photos stored in a file/folder structure. While I understand that Google Drive on my phone will backup my photos now to Google Photos, I can no longer "see" my photos and re-arrange them in my preferred folder structure hence I think my only option is to use Dropbox to get them off my phone - is that correct? Or is there another photo/video backup feature I am not aware of?
Once I get the photos off my phone and onto my cloud or hard drive, then I would like to view them from Google Photos. If I have to store my photos in Dropbox going forward, is there a way to view the photos and videos in Dropbox via Google Photos?
If I have fully understood this change, Google is essentially forcing us to duplicate our photos in 2 places: 1) Google Drive and 2) Google Photos which is highly problematic as, besides using 2x the storage, I will undoubtedly struggle to keep the 2 repositories in sync. I have 20 years of photos and videos neatly organised in folders by date which works really well for me and would be a nightmare if I relied solely on Google Photos given the sometimes inaccurate timestamps when people share photos or if they have been scanned at a later point etc.
One final idea - can Google Drive identify faces in photos? If so, perhaps I can just keep all my photos in Google Drive and ditch Google Photos altogether?
Grateful for any help with this - I have been totally thrown by this change and am desperately looking for a solution.
Best wishes,
Mark.

Answer:
I am using my phone-camera like a classical camera which I connect to my computer via its usb-cable to copy the files to a temporary folder (then I always have originals also) and after deleting the bad ones, the good ones are edited to become better and captioned also. Then they are exported to my yearfolder and also uploaded to my yearalbum on Google Photos with High Quality setting in https://photos.google.com.
And on GP I decide which pictures are suitable for adding to a few temporary albums for sharing.
No need for any syncing, no need for drouly Google Drive which has nothing attractive.
And my organisation is on computer with a copy on usb-disc for additional safety.
Not any of the ever returning problems posted here and really high quality on Photos also.
But because GP is unsuitable for old scanned stuff, I use OneDrive which has a more intelligent approach for photos. But that is a restricted collection for our children only.
Dinnertime here.

And personally I only use OneDrive for the pre-digital part of my collection because on Google Photos you can't have "albums" sorted on names (like 1970-1971-1972 etc.) and no sorting on filenames within album (like 1970-123) and no single sharing link for a group of albums for our children only.
I am not interested in facetechnology because due to better privacy regulations in Europe we don't have these features.
It is up to you now to make a selection how to go on.

Answer:
Thank you Rinus.
I have also been thinking a little about the Google Backup and Sync idea - there is an option under preferences to "Upload newly added photos and videos to Google Photos". However, there are a couple of potential problems / questions I see here:
- I work off a fairly thin client now and so most of my photos and videos are in Google Drive so is there an option to upload directly from Google Drive to Google Photos?
- Does this option upload the full uncompressed file (my current option for Google Photos backup) or will this Backup and Sync option compress the photos and videos (it is not clear from the dialogue box)
Thank you again for your guidance on this.
Mark.
Answer:
The Google Backup & Sync app is unsuitable for your idea.
But you have a new option in https://photos.google.com under its Upload-button. You now can select any single folder on Drive for uploading, but that is a own manual time-action - no syncing.
And the uploadsize is determined by the setting of https://photos.google.com
Syncing via the OneDrive-app straight from phone just uses your ssd-disc temporarily because the file have to be moved to another storage place an that also can be a connected usb-disc.
