Hi, I have a Google One account which I share storage with my family. My wife is using this shared plan and I have doubts about what happens to our storage when using Google Photos partner sharing feature with auto save enabled. Will the same picture saved on both accounts required the double amount of storage on our single google one account? To be clear both my wife and I have partner sharing with auto save enabled so we can see each other photos directly on the library and I wanted to know if we're wasting storage because the same photo will be counted twice on the same google one plan.

Google support representative:

​So it seems that the only way the storage is affected is if you save the photos and then the partner sharing is stopped.
If you have photos saved, and you are still partner sharing, they actually do not take up space.

All of the previous questions on this subject were not resolved.  Why does Google not fix things?  Up until yesterday my videos all played, now none of them do.  Since this has been happening for years, according to the feeds, I can't understand why it still happens.  I've tried the few suggestions that apply to me but nothing works.  The only browser that I can play my videos on is the Avast Secure.  I don't want to get all the weird suggestions that send me to Firefox, I don't have any apps or extensions, I've cleared my cache I don't know what else to do.  Please HELP!

Welcome to the Google Photos Help Forum.

I'll be happy to help you. Do you find your albums when logged in to photos.google.com? If no, please share the steps followed to create them. Albums can only be created if all your photos/videos are backed up to the Google Photos library. Having done that, you would then need to create the album within Google Photos by selecting the photos from the library. Here are a couple of ways, how to create albums in Google Photos:

  • Procedure 1:
    • Select the photos from the 'Photos' section in Google Photos.
    • Click on the '+' symbol on the top right corner.
    • Select Album.
    • Select New Album.
    • Name the album on the space provided.
    • Click on the 'Tick' mark on the top left corner of the page to complete the creation.
  • Procedure 2:
    • Open Google Photos.
    • Click on Albums.
    • Click on 'Three dots icon' on the top right corner.
    • Click on Albums (under Create new).
    • Select the photos.
    • Click on Create.
    • Name the album on the space provided.
    • Click on the 'Tick' mark on the top left corner of the page to complete the creation.

Do you find them in the Google Photos library ('Photos' section of Google Photos). If no, It can also be that the photos weren't uploaded successfully at the first place. Photos/videos that are not synced or backed up, will still appear in Google Photos and will have this icon (which means not synced/backed up) or some photos/videos will also show up with the two arrows in a circle mean backup is in progress.

Once the upload is complete there will be no icon on any photos/videos. Often, many of us misinterpret that they are all backed up because the photos/videos show up in Google Photos and we over see the icons on each photo/video. If the photos/videos weren't backed up they cannot be deleted from the Google Photos library nor Trash.

I have over 180 albums on Google Photos ... some created initially in Picasa.  All of them show up with thumbnail album covers on photos.google.com.  I used to also be able to see all of them through the same thumbnails on my iOS devices (iPhone and iPad).  Recently, however I only see  about 30 of the thumbnails.  I can still find the others on the mobile devices if I search for the name, but that is inconvenient as I don't always remember the exact title of the album I'm looking for.  I have tried to delete and reinstall the app to no avail.  Suggestions?

I'll be happy to help. Are you referring to deleting photos and videos from Google Photos?

Remove photos and videos:
  1. On your computer, go to photos.google.com.
  2. Place your cursor over items you want to move to trash. At the top left, click Select . You can alsoselect multiple items. 
  3. At the top right, click Trash .
  4. To permanently delete photos and videos, click Menu Trash select the photo or video  Trash 
Know where photos do and don't get removed from before you delete photos and videos in Google Photos:

Photos and videos you delete are also removed from:Photos and videos you delete are not automatically removed from:
  • Blogger
  • YouTube
  • Gmail
  • Google+
Here's a help article to know more about deleting photos and videos in Google Photos. You would need to download all the content (photos and videos) to another storage device (like a phone, memory stick or SD card) from Google Photos, then delete them. Having done that, you can now move or transfer your photos back to Google Photos of the same account.

When packages are in transit, there is nothing that anybody can do about it except for the courier service. You should directly contact the courier service for assistance.

Welcome to Google Photos Community Support Forum & thanks for your query.
 
You can add a person through the following steps.
 
Tap to open the photo which contains unidentified faces & then slide up or tap the three dots .
If the app had failed to include some faces in that picture, then you will see a prompt "XX faces available to add".
 
Tap the edit icon at the extreme right edge. (An icon of a pencil ).
 
That will show identified faces in square boxes & their thumbnails at the bottom.
Tap on the + sign on each thumbnail. 
Then the app will show you all the identified faces till that time.
You can select the right one.
 
If not, tap the + sign at the top right corner of the screen.
That would create a new grouping altogether.
 
Once created, the app may take some time to bring all the related pictures to this new grouping.
Otherwise, you can go through the collection & add the photos to the newly created group, manually, through the same steps as described above.
 
PS. The edit feature may not be available in some regions. If you happen to be from that, then regretfully nothing can be done.

Welcome to Google Photos Community Support Forum & thanks for your query.
 
There are multiple alternatives to move the photos in the memory of the phone to an SD card. However, moving those through the Google Photos app allows retaining the backup and sync aspect.
Please follow the steps below to achieve the transfer.
  • Open Google Photos.
  • Tab Library.
  • Tap the desired folder under Photos on the device like Camera, Screenshots etc.
  • Select photos by long pressing then, tap others after the tick confirms the first selection
  • You can also long-press and stroke down while still in a pressed condition to select a batch.
  • Next, tap the three-dot menu top right.
  • Tap Move to folder.
  • Tap New SD folder, type a folder name, then tap Create.
Note that if the photos are already there in Google Photos, this will not remove them from the Photos. Also, even if you do not select the new fold for Backup & sync, any contents thereupon will still be deleted if you delete that using the Google Photos app.

When the quantum of photos to awaiting the free up action is too large & also the phone has very little space, the "free up space" command fails to do anything. 
The app may also crash.
 
To mitigate the problem, please start uploading manually. 
 
Once a sizable space is free, you can use the "Free up space" option without any glitch.
