I was a Google employee and when I turned in my devices I guess some of my personal photos were linked to my work google.com account.  Now I no longer have access to that account.  Can those photos in that work account be ported over to my personal Google Photos gmail.com account?

I’m sorry, it’s not possible to recover photos permanently deleted from the Google Photos Trash. However, you may install to your Android device a deleted photo recovery app https://play.google.com/store/search?q=recover%20deleted%20photos&c=apps and run a scan for anything to recover.

 

In addition I recommend that you contact the Google Drive support team to see if any deleted files may be recovered. Just open the Google Drive https://support.google.com/drive/?hl=en&authuser=0#topic=14940&contact=1 contact form, click Missing or deleted files, select a contact option, and be sure to tell them you permanently deleted files in Google Drive.

Incase, if you're referring to recover your photos deleted permanently from trash, unfortunately, there isn't any way to recover them.

 

However, still try checking the missing photos on Google Photos library. Incase, if you might have moved the photos to trash, it will not automatically removed from:

• Blogger
  
• YouTube
  
• Gmail
  
• Google+

If you don't find the photos, I'd recommend you look for your photos here, signing in with all your Google accounts if you have more than one:

• get.google.com/albumarchive
  
• drive.google.com (under Google Photos)
  
• other online photo or file storage services you use (e.g. Dropbox, OneDrive, iCloud).

I'd also recommend you contact the Google Drive support team as they can restore photos up to 21 days after deletion if the photos are available in the Google Drive. You can click the "Missing or deleted files" entry of the contact form and request a phone call or any other option that works for you.

If you get access, you may found the right pictures back under the Autoback-cover and then you can download them individualy to your computer via the 3 dots.

Deleted Photos are stored in Trash for up to 60 days, if you delete Photos again from trash, that's two times deletion.
 
Unfortunately, once Photos are deleted from trash there is no way to retrieve them back :(

On the main photos.google.com, these photos aren't appearing.The only way I've figured out to view them is by going to 'Explore', and then 'Recently Added'. 

It's the same on the app on my phone. I have a google phone, with google photos on it. I would have expected the new uploaded pics to be straight visible on the main screen, but they're not. I have to go to search, and then look at recently added again - bit of a convoluted way to get them!

Is this normal behaviour? It beggars belief this is how it should work, it's so not user friendly!
