In fact your camera has less pixels (from 16 to 12 MP), so normal pictures take a bit less space in local memory. But probably you are shooting 4K videos now and these are extremely bulky - say about 1 GB per minute instead of 200 MB. That are the fat boys. 

 

PS: if your backup setting is at storage saver quality, pictures will take a bit less storage at Google also and the 4K video are downsized to 2K (FHD), so it makes no sense to shoot in 4K.

Can you try first clearing the cached & stored data through these steps?

• On your Android phone, open the Settings.

• Tap Clear storage.
• Next, uninstall the Google Photos app. 
• Power off the phone & then restart.

I only know such messages from Google Maps, so most likely you have taken an image in some restaurant and you were asked later if you did like it and by tapping yes, your image on that location automatically was uploaded. That's modern life with smartphones :-)

On Maps, go into its main menu via the 3 small lines - then select Contributions and then Photos: maybe it's there and can be deleted if you are logged-in with your Gmail-account also in use for Google Photos.
