Alright so I just got a new phone and finally decided I would put all my pictures from my gallery into google photos. On my old phone it is taking a really long time to backup all of them, I think there were 3,000 pictures in total. However my first problem was that the some of the albums from my gallery didn't show up as albums in google photos. Then the albums that I did have are not showing up on the google photos in my new phone or on my computer. For example, I have an album labeled "wallpapers" on my old phone's gallery, then this album did show up in google photos on my old phone, but then that album is not appearing on my new phone when I access google photos. There are no albums showing up at all that are shared throughout my new phone and from my computer.

It looks like you're trying to backup the photos of your device to Google Photos. Could you please confirm if you've followed the below steps to do so?

Open the Google Photos app .
Sign in to your Google Account.
At the top, tap Menu.
Select Settings.
Click on Back up & sync.
Tap Back up & sync on or off.

However, the albums of your device will not show up in your Google Photos as it will only back up the photos. Therefore, you can create a new album from your Google Photos through the below steps:

On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google Photos app .
Sign in to your Google Account.
Touch and hold a photo, and then select the photos you want in your new album.
At the top, tap Add.
Select Album.
Optional: Add a title to your new album.
Tap Done.

I do understand the inconvenience as you're unable to download photos from the web version of Google Photos to your device. Therefore, I recommend trying the steps below in sequence, this may help in fixing the issue:

I just created a movie through google photo assistant. However, when I tried to download it, it would download another video instead of the one I wanted. Mind you, that I tried using my phone and computer to download it and still would download a different one. I looked online seeing a post about more than 5mb error saying that it might be a browser problem. However, I tried that too and still downloaded the wrong file. I tried to download the whole album with only 1 movie that I wanted. Still after downloading the file it was not the one I wanted. Any form of help, suggestion, and advice would be much appreciated.

When the quantum of photos to awaiting the free up action is too large & also the phone has very little space, the "free up space" command fails to do anything.

The app may also crash.

To mitigate the problem, please start deleting manually.

To do so, tap to open the photo. If you find an option "Delete from device" below the pic, tap that.

Once a sizable space is free, you can use the "Free up space" option without any glitch.

However, before deleting any picture, it's always prudent to copy those on some external HDD. That eliminates the chance of any accidental loss of the media from the phone or cloud.

But it prompted me to install the "NEW" google drive for desktop, so I though it was better, but then it added this drive to "This PC". Which really annoys me. I only need those three drives and an additional that I do not and will not use is just annoying me.

The disk management shows no virtual drives installed, so I cannot do anything there.

If you do not want to expend a drive letter, there is no other way but to uninstall the update.

Nevertheless, you can continue to use Google Drive through your browser as usual.
