On my PC I uploaded photos from my computer to Google Photos online. Then I downloaded the Google Photos app on my Iphone. None of the photos I uploaded to Google Photos on my computer are there. How do I make sure that the photos I upload to Google Photos from my pc show up on my phone, and the photos from my phone are visible on the PC? I'm talking the Google Photos website and app only, not Drive or anywhere else.

Assuming that you have used the same accountsetting on web and in the app (under its 3 small lines), you should hold the app open because an Iphone has a bit stupid design that does not allow the Google app to work in background like on Android.
No other reason perhaps?

Of course this is fully abnormal assuming the app on your phone is logged-in to the same Gmail-account as the website.
At home when having good wifi, a new picture shooted with my Samsung is immediately backupped to Google and can be seen 1 minute later on my laptop in https://photos.google.com
Or when I upload a picture on my computer straight into https://photos.google.com it is seen one minute later in the Photos-app on my Samsung.
It is hard to imagine what people are doing wrong which prevents this normal behavior, but a main problem can be sick security software which blocks photos.google.com

Just a couple of thoughts...
Make sure that you are connected to Wi-Fi (to rule out something funny with your Cellular Data iOS settings).
Type "Recently added" into the search box of the Google Photos app, assuming the photos uploaded on the computer were recently added (in case the photos are showing up someplace in the photo stream where you don't expect them).

If recent pictures are uploaded from a folder on your computer into https://photos.google.com via the Upload-button, they should become visible on top of the library ("Photos") page.

If we talk about uploading from computer to Google Photos, we don't talk about anything more then using the Upload-button on https://photos.google.com and manual selecting files in folders.
But you if you have installed the Backup & Sync app in computer, you can do many things in a wrong way and then it becomes even more hard to analyse where you did make mistakes.

Are you saying that photos from your phone are also not showing up on your PC at https://photos.google.com/u/0/ (after you see the "Backup complete" message)? If so, you are almost certainly using two different accounts.

Before you do this, you might want to check:
- That you have closed all recent apps.
- That you can scroll down very far in the Photos stream and the images are refreshing (if not it could be a Wi-Fi issue)
- That you are not critical (very very low) on > iOS Settings > General > iPhone Storage
- That you don't have any outstanding iOS or Google Photos updates.
If nothing funny here (and you are sure you are using the same account), reinstalling is about all you can do.
I have an up-to-date iPhone and a really old iPad and I have never had a similar problem (and I have about 80,000 images in Google Photos).

Actually this was in the past, but it now works on iOS (with up-to-date) Google Photos app. You can either type "Recently added" in the search box or there is a selection (after "360 Photos & Videos").

Found solution, hopefully it works for others using Pixel phones.
Go to settings
Apps & notifications
Select Google Photos
Click Advanced tab
Under heading Store
App details -app installed from Google store.
Uninstall app
Then the word update will show up.
Click update.
This will reinstall Google photos and all photos that were downloaded via PC should show up in photos section

I do understand the inconvenience as you're unable to delete the video from your Google Photos. Therefore, I recommend trying the steps below in sequence, this may help in fixing the issue:
- Clear the cache and cookies.
- Try another browser or operating system.
- Try an incognito mode.
- Disable browser plugins or extensions. (Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer, and Safari instructions.)
- Have a domain or network administrator help you with firewall and/or server settings.
- Try disabling and then re-enabling offline access.
- Sign out of your Google account and sign back in.
- Make sure your device's operating system is running the latest version.
- Restart your device.
- Take a look at your Wi-Fi connection and make sure it's up and running.
- If possible, try replicating the issue on another device to see if it's the computer hardware having issues.

My test seems to have gone OK, I've just deselected the remaining folders so fingers crossed. Once I deselect a folder it takes quite a while before Backup and Sync settles down but hopefully I'll see in a few minutes.

What do you mean by "save them from Google Photos'? If, for example, you are viewing the photos on your computer in Google PHotos and you right-click and 'save image as' then you're getting a low-resolution copy. The correct way is to click the 3-dot menu and choose Download.

Please check at photos.google.com to see if the blank images are there.
If it looks OK on line, a complete reset of the Google Photos app may be required.
- Check the app trash to make sure there are no photos and videos mistakenly deleted
- Empty the trash
- tap the account icon at the top right
- tap your email address and select Use without an account
- Power down/up or restart the device
- sign in again making sure you are using the correct email
- check that the Backup & sync settings are correct and using the correct email
- wait until getting photos finishes, could take a while
- Please wait until it completes leaving the app open and plugged in if necessary.

Could you please elaborate the issue or your query for me to assist you better? If you've deleted your photos back then from Google Photos and want to restore them, please know that photos/videos deleted from the Google Photos library, goes to the Trash for the next 60 days. So, in case, you deleted it by mistake you can always restore it from Trash folder within those 60 days (post deletion). But, if you don't find it in Trash, probably it must have been deleted more that 60 days ago. Unfortunately, restoring your lost/deleted photos and videos from Trash is the last resort.

Earlier today I tried to reset face grouping in the photos app by turning it off then on. It seemed to work, only now when I try to add a name label I get the message "error while labeling cluster". It won't even let me select a name from my contact list. If I uninstall app updates, then I can add a name label, however it won't let me merge faces. Before if you selected the same name label it would ask if you wanted to merge faces, now it just labels it the same name. I don't need dozens of albums all with the same name. I haven't had a chance to see if name labeling and merging is an issue on the web version of photos or not. Oddly, when pets groupings come up, they kept their name label. I don't understand why that can't happen with people.

Just put photos in one folder and vids in another then do NOT sync the one containing Vids and DO Sync the one that has the photos.

The face recognition feature is still evolving & is likely to err particularly when faces are either near about or blurry.
There is no other option but to tag the face manually.
