Hello Jairrie ,
If you have uploaded photos on google photos and deleted it please take a look at the below info.
Following is text from the official Google Photos Help page about deleting and restoring photos and videos:
Restore photos & videosIf you deleted an item and want it back, check your trash to see if it’s there.
- On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google Photos app
.
- At the bottom, tap Library
Trash
.
- Touch and hold the photo or video you want to restore.
- At the bottom, tap Restore. The photo or video will be back:
- In your phone’s gallery app
- In your Google Photos library
- In any albums it was in
If the item is not in your trash, it may be permanently deleted.
Important:
- If you delete a photo or video that’s backed up in Google Photos, it will stay in your trash for 60 days.
- If you delete an item from your Android device without it being backed up, it will stay in your trash for 60 days.
- If you see a photo or video in Google Photos that you think you deleted, it might be on a removable memory card. To delete it, use your device’s gallery app.
Empty your trashIf you see a request to "Delete permanently" when you try to move an item to trash, your trash is full. Your trash can hold 1.5GB.Important: If you empty your trash, you permanently delete any items in your trash.Don't see the photo or video? If a deleted photo or video isn't in trash, you can’t restore it. You won't be able to restore a photo if:
- You moved it to trash more than 60 days ago.
- You moved it to trash, then emptied your trash.
- You permanently deleted it from your trash.
- You permanently deleted it from your device’s Gallery app, without backing it up first.
When you attempt to manually empty the trash bin in Google Photos, a warning message box appears that explains you are about to permanently delete those pictures and videos. If you choose to proceed anyway, there is nothing that any of the volunteers in this forum can do to help you recover your pictures.
The information on the following Google Photos Help pages will help you become more familiar with finding, deleting, and restoring your pictures:
If you deleted pictures or videos that were not previously backed up to your account through the Google Photos app, then unfortunately there's nothing that Google or any of the volunteers in this Help Community can do to recover them.
Files that existed only on your phone, ones that were never uploaded to the cloud, cannot be recovered or restored by a cloud storage service. Simply put, Google can't help you recover files it never had in the first place.
Thanks.

There is no Option?
I need to know that you are working on the Feature.
I'm very surprised that it is not an option.
Imagine I go to my family. then I want to share my photos. I hand over my phone to them. they look at my phone to see pictures. Now I don't want them to be stressed with work-related or relationship stuff or other unimportant matters for the company I'm in. I hope you are taking this matter serious! I've been requesting this feature for many years. This is my last try to make you listen.
If you do not plan to implement it, I cannot use google Photos, and will delete it to go with other software, but then what is the point with Google one, if I cannot have my stuff the same place. you must understand I invest a lot of time in your beliefs. but I will not be held back in development. Just being honest.

Hi John,
Thanks for revisitng the topic. It sounds like you have already made feature requests via the Feedback menu option in Google Photos? If not, that is the best place to make succinct requests so the team can track user interest.
Since you are a long-time user, I suspect you've already explored the Archive function to remove images to an Archive area, such that the images no longer appear in the main photos stream view?
You could archive more personal and business-related images, and then keep more shareable images in the main photos stream for people to see when you hand them your phone.
(Tehcnically, anyone you hand the phone to, could look at the Archive folder, but from your description, this is a more supervised situation.)
Cheers,
Joe
Answer:
Thank you for answering Joe
Yes I know the Archive function. you never look in an Archive unless you are a Librarian. It has no sorting og managing function, pictures just get clustered up there.
kids in my family gets seasick when they look through archive, it has no red thread to follow. it's rather confusing.
Archive function is excellent with google keep, where you can search for words and find your note. Photos don't have notes.
Please make better organising possibilities, I would like to pay for it.
Thx again for having this opportunity
All the best
Answer:
@John
You are wrong: pictures in the archive-folder on Google Photos can be searched for like the pictures in your library. Just type a word in the searchbox above that library.
But then you are fully dependable on google image intelligence, while if you would have typed some keywords in the description field of the individual pictures, you would have found the correct ones immediately.
Complaints should be send to Google directly via the feedback option in the main menu.
We only can correct for user confusions & mistakes.
Also see this link
PS: I got the impression that you would use the archive for hiding pictures for direct viewing by family.

You can also search with one or more words from the album title: Google will suggest all albums having these words in the title. Note that searching is not possible immediately after creating an album: Google needs some time to index the title.

Google is not as systematic as you, so they have forgotten this adjustment in the Android Photos-app.
So you need to use the site photos.google.com in the Chromebrowser to be able to change date & time & timezone individual or per group.
Sorry - no Google here to blame.
PS: be aware that changing only is valid for Google Photos, but if downloaded these photos still will have their wrong dates or no dates at all like with social media pics.

Question: How do I assign name of person to a photo?
Identify a photo with a person
Hello Rochelle,
I’d like to let you know that to label a face in Google Photos, you need to turn the Face grouping option on. To do so:
- On your iPhone or iPad, open the Google Photos app
.
- Tap Menu
Settings
Group similar faces.
- If you haven’t already, turn on Face grouping.
- Under "No face labeled as Me,” tap Choose.
- Select your face. Tap OK. This will automatically turn on “Allow contacts to recognize your face.”
To label faces individually, I’d suggest you to try the below steps:
- Find photos of a person or pet:
- On your iPhone & iPad, open the Google Photos app
.
- Sign in to your Google Account.
- At the top, tap the search bar. You'll see a box with faces.
- Tap a face to see more photos of them. To see more faces tap the arrow (If you don't see this box, that means this feature is not available in your country, you turned it off in settings, or you don't have any groups.)
- On your iPhone & iPad, open the Google Photos app
- Apply a label:
- At the top of a face group, tap "Who is this?"
- Enter a name or nickname. Now you'll be able to search with that label using the search box. Only you will see the private face labels you choose, even if you share those photos.
Also, have a look at the help center article to know more about label your face group. You might even have a look at this article to find a person and label them.
Thanks.

Answer:
Hello King,
Photos uploaded on the Google photos are uploaded on the Google account storage. They are stored on the cloud and not on the device. If you want to sync it on the sd card you need to download every single photo one by one and move it to sd card
Or download all the photos on the desktop insert sd card in the desktop and move that into it.
Hope this helps.
Thanks.
Answer:
Thank you for the answer.
I understand to use the desktop as easiest way to accomplish the backing up photos on SD Card.
A follow up question. Forget SD card.
My two samsung devices are both logged-in to my google photos account.
Can i have my Google Photos downloaded to the internal storage on my Tab S7?
Thank you so much for responding.
Answer:
@King
That one-by-one is unfeasable of course, but for the Google Photos app on your Tab the Note-pictures are available online only and the Android-app simply has no good option for bulk transfer to local folders or to folders on the inserted sd. So you need to install an additional app like File Manager + (try the free version first).
When you move two fingers together, you can have month view and if you tap the month's name, you have selected all in that past month, maybe hundreds. Then you tap the Share-icon (lying V) and choose original size and then choose the new file-app at the bottom which gives you access to your sd-card for copying the downloaded files into a folder on sd.
Just try with a few pictures first to understand the workflow needed.
Good luck

Ok, I'm really pissed about this. I got google photos so I could be on a shared album with android users and it wouldn't freaking let me even consider using the app without giving it access to ALL my photos. I didn't have a problem with this, but I didn't know the Tomfuckery that google would do with it. I have a Galaxy S6 lite tablet. I transfered my phone apps to my tablet. I am trying to put my Google photos on my sd card. Can't seem to figure it out. Any help will be appreciated.
Answer:
This will show you how to move photos from Android to SD Card.
Answer:
I am on a tablet and trying to move photos to my sd card. I went to look at the sd card and theirs is nothing on it but folder names. I see some of the pictures in internal storage in a file named restored?
Answer:
@Yvonne
Files in the folder named Restored were downloaded by you from the individual webcopies shown in the Google Photos app when the originals are not on phone anymore. So they can be moved ("transferred") to your sd-card also - else they would stay in local memory and take some storage there.
Hope this helps - else come back and try to explain why the Geek-movie is not good enough for you - maybe because you are on iPhone which can be much less comfortable then Android.
Answer:
I don't know what you mean. And the last part about the geek movie not being good enough. I don't have an iPhone. I have a Samsung Galaxy S20 5g phone and a Samsung galaxy S6 lite tablet. The video you sent me didn't match what I am asking. Probably my fault due to being new to this. My tablet doesn't show sd card emblem by the picture to move to sd card. I just got another card thinking the card is bad but no help. It did Grey out the icon on my home screen and I had to go download the Google photo in order to see my pictures again. How do I delete the restored file or pictures?
Answer:
@Yvonne
You referred to iOS instead of Android, so that's why I assumed that you have an iPhone or iPad (tablet).
When you see your phone-pictures in the Google Photos app on your tablet, you simply can't move them to any location as the movie suggests because the lady did forget to tell that she did select a picture that still was on her phone, while in your case the pictures are not on your tablet unless the few downloaded into the Restore-folder.
So it is hard for me to help you because what you want is too complicated - even for the more experienced.
Just accept that you can view your phone-pictures in the Photos-app on a much larger screen and that can do normal things like sharing and creating albums etc.
Sorry - on iPad this would have been more simple :-)
PS: you simply can delete the few pictures shown in the Camera-folder on the Library-page, because these are in the invisible Restored-folder - unless it are a few pictures shooted with the tablet.

Now- with that out of the way let's deal with Zonta Hoon's post in Google Photos.
Unfortunately, your items are probably NOT recoverable...
Please note that, due to a variety of reasons, not all files can be recovered - but you can try!
1. Items deleted from your photos.google.com are stored in trash for 60 days and then are Auto-Deleted from trash and can not be recovered.
2. Items deleted manually from photos.google.com/trash can not be recovered.
3. Items deleted from your YouTube Channel can not be recovered.
4. Items deleted from your Gmail are stored in trash for 30 days and then are Auto-Deleted from trash and can not be recovered.
5. Items manually deleted from Gmail trash can not be recovered.
6. Items deleted from your Google Drive will be stored in Drive Trash for 30 days and then be Auto-Deleted from Trash and can not be recovered.
1).If you are using a regular personal account
You will have to contact a Google Drive Specialist who *MAY* be able to restore it. Use this link:
2). If you use a work/student account (G Suite), you should contact your Account Admin as they can restore files up to 25 days after deletion.

Answer:
@Zonta
Albums on Google Photos are virtual - so they contain no photos, but links to selected photos in the mainstream. So deleting an album deletes all links and thereby the album can't be found in trash.
The only way is to re-create the album by selecting the same pics on the Photos-pages and then hit the + the create a new album which you can give the same name.
If the deleted album was shared, you need to reshare the new album again.
Sorry, but that's how Google works.
Answer:
Of course you never can recover items deleted in trash - either by you before 60 days or by Google after 60 days. But if you delete an album that was created by you, it can't be found in trash at all.

Hi Bay,
I’m sorry, it’s not possible to recover photos permanently deleted from the Google Photos Trash. However, you may install to your Android device a deleted photo recovery app (be sure to pick one that doesn't require rooting) https://play.google.com/store/search?q=recover%20deleted%20photos&c=apps and run a scan for anything to recover.

Question: I never my recently photos
I need my deleted photos
Hi, Rajput Ji 4416
Welcome to Google Photos Community Support Forum & thanks for your query.
Had you backed up the pics to Google Photos?
Can you please verify that by visiting the link https://photos.google.com ?
Enter the link in any browser on your phone & then log into your Google account to view the photos backed up on Cloud.
If you do not find anything, then there are two possibilities.
Either, the items have moved to the bin.
The Bin icon
becomes visible through the library view in the phone app.
Tap on the icon & then restore everything visible there.
Or, your backup was incomplete, so nothing got uploaded to the cloud.
The Google Photos app acts like a portal viewer showing everything from our phone and also the content backed up to the cloud,
Then, that creates a impression of everything getting backed up perfectly.
However, we need to check the status of backup periodically and look for the messages on "Backup and Sync" menu.
Further, we have to ensure every folder on our device is included in the backup & none shows a cloud symbol with slash.
If nothing was backed up to the cloud in the first place, regretfully, there is no way to recover those pics through Google Photos.

When you add the same name label to two photo groups, then, the AI queries: "Same or different person?"
Answer that correctly & then those two groups will merge.

Hi, Joe PC_111
Welcome to Google Photos Community Support Forum & thanks for your query.
I suggest you go through this article to understand how to delete pics through Google Photos without affecting the local storage.
When you delete a photo in Google Photos it will also be deleted from all synced devices. In practice that are only mobile devices (phones and tablets) since syncing with computers has been disabled. There are however ways to do this:
- Disable Backup and sync on the device
- Move the photo to a non-synced folder before you delete it from Google Photos.
- Once done, open the link https://photos.google.com through any browser on your phone, log into your Google Account & start deleting the unwanted pics.

Your Gmail-account space of 15 GB for free also is used by Drive and by Photos. So the first thing to start with is by telling us the 3 numbers you see at one.google.com/storage
Apart from that: the Google Photos app does show what you have on phone, but not what you have at Google (bad design) - then you need to look at photos.google.com in a browser.
So come back with more details.

Hi Douglas,

This is the Google Photos support forum.. really nothing to do with banking.
That said, if you mean you deleted your bank's app on your phone, TYPICALLY, you can reinstall the app (e.g., from Google Play or the iOS App store) and log in with your credentials (typically Username and Password, sometimes confirming via text or email).
You could call, email, or online chat with your bank to be sure.

Please confirm when was this e-mail received by you. It can be possible that the app automatically got updated before you could see the e-mail. Just a possibility. The app always shows what you have on phone - backupped or not. So deleting there always will delete your local copy and with backup on, that action also will delete the webcopy.
That's all
Best to archive the files that you want to have removed - then they stay backupped, but are out of direct viewing. Else you need to carry-out complex actions to move these files into a lockable folder before they get backupped.
PS: feature suggestions should be send straight to Google via the feedback option under your profile.

Hello everyone,
Today I received an email that my Google storage was full, which did not make any sense to me since around three days ago I had available 14.9 GB. When I opened Google Photos I now see that I have used up 15.7 GB / 15 GB, but the issue is that I have not backed up any large videos/photos after the June 1st changes to the high quality storage policy.
Everything I uploaded before is high quality, so it is not supposed to count towards the storage limit. When I check on the storage manager to determine what is causing my storage to fill up, it appears that it is in fact some of the photos/videos I uploaded, before June 1st.

I simply do guess that because everyone paniced shortly before June 1, Google simply could not cope with all bulk uploads and postponed the compression of videos to dates after June 1.
But you can try the Recover storage button on photos.google.com/settings to get them compressed at command - that may take a day or more before your counter goes down to a pre-June-1 value again.
Good luck

Sorry to hear Andres, because then it becomes more difficult.
Check what you can do via one.google.com/storage/management - perhaps the old Google Photos folder on Drive suddenly has started to count when you have removed a lot of old stuff from Photos.
