The slideshow option on Google Photos is limited to a fixed interval of 4 seconds without the option to add music. Hélas.

No, this is not something that Google does.

If you received an email telling you that you need to update Google Photos or else your account will be deleted, suspended, etc. then you should just ignore that message because it is definitely a scam.

You're not the first person to report a message like this recently. Be very careful and avoid clicking any links or buttons in that message. You should just delete it and ignore anything it said.

Google does not contact users by email just to tell them that they need to update an app. Somebody is preying on unsuspecting users in an attempt to gain access to your Google account or hack something in some similar way. Just get rid of the message and move on.

Delete photos/videos from Google Photos but not from a mobile device

When you delete a photo in Google Photos it will also be deleted from all synced devices. In practice that are only mobile devices (phones and tablets) since syncing with computers has been disabled. There are however ways to do this:

Disable Backup and sync on the device
Move the photo to a non-synced folder before you delete it from Google Photos.
Once done, open the link https://photos.google.com through any browser on your phone, log into your Google Account & start deleting the unwanted pics.

After you fill the 100 GB space & do not renew your subscription, the following will happen.

You will lose access to Gmail.
You can access the photos only for deleting purpose.
You will start getting continuous reminders to renew your subscription or delete the content to bring everything within the 15 GB limit.

However, once you have chosen to upload the content in its original format, that will continue to remain as it is. There wouldn't be any compression unless you choose to do so (But only after renewing your subscription).

Thanks for posting in the Google Photos Help Forum.

I do understand the inconvenience as the albums that you've deleted keeps coming back in your Google Photos app. Therefore, I recommend trying the steps below in sequence, this may help in fixing the issue:

Make sure your device is up-to-date.
Make sure the App is up-to-date.
Try restarting the App through the following steps:

Go to your App Settings.
Click stop on the afflicted App with the Force Stop button.
Wait a few seconds to make sure the App has stopped processing, and then attempt to re-start it.

Close the background running apps through the following steps:

Go to your App Settings.
Display the Active Apps on your device.
Select the App you wish to close and Force Stop it.
Repeat this step with all active Apps.

Try clearing your App cache through the following steps:

Tap the system Settings tab on the main screen of your device.
Tap the General section of settings that is on the far right.
Tap Storage in the General tab.
Clear the cache data once storage calculates the data.
Back out of the storage section.
Tap Applications and find the application in question.
Tap the application and clear the cache (if available).
Clear the data for the application if there is no cache to clear.
Exit the settings screen and restart the device.

Make sure your device's operating system is running the latest version.
Restart your device.
Take a look at your Wi-Fi connection and make sure it's up and running.
If possible, try replicating the issue on another device to see if it's the computer hardware having issues.

Of course not because Google Photos is in cloud and it was a wrong idea to use a local editor, because now you will see unedited photos in the app merely I guess.

So if you still have your old phone with most pictures on it, the best thing you can is connecting the phone to your computer via its usb-cable and copy the local files in DCIM or in some other folder to your computer - the Photos-app in Windows-10 has a good importer. Then you have your edited files at hand for creating a much better collection then you can do on Android.

I don't know what the best way is to go on with Google Photos unless you see this service as a backup for safety only. Sorry - just volonteers here.

PS: there are no simple methods to get all downloaded from GP to your new phone and that would make no sense either, because then you would need to re-editing them all again.

It's not clear who you asked: this is the first question you post on this forum.

"Where can I put my photos were I know there safe?"

No place is 100% safe. You only get safety by having your photos in more than one place, and be sure that they are not deleted in one place when you delete in the other place.

For example having your photos on your phone AND in Google Photos is NOT safe, because when you delete in the Google Photos app they are deleted from both places. You should keep them also elsewhere.

Unfortunately Google Photos has no tools to create an extra backup.
