# WIFI connectivity is intermittent. Too many devices connected to the same router thus restricting the bandwidth.

# Download & upload speeds are too asymmetric.

# Google Photos app is not allowed to use

Data in the background
Mobile data
Mobile data while roaming

# Activation of data saver through the settings.

# Putting a limit on the daily use of mobile data through the settings in the app.

Yes, the syncing between drive and photos doesn't any more on the cloud base.

But if you have set the option "uploading to Google Photos" enable with Backup & Sync, your photos will be uploaded Individually to Google Photos in addition Google Drive.

But that always has been the case with this setting - the only difference since July is a more correct behavior at deletions and edits: these are now restricted to PC and Drive because that is a syncing connection - the connection to Photos is a onetime upload to prevent disturbing shared albums etc.

So it is more correct to see Drive as your backup and Photos for having a comfortable port for viewing and sharing on different devices, also via Chromecast.

Good afternoon. Like Sandie said, more information is necessary for anybody to help you with problems you're having.

That being said, from the little bit of info that you've provided, it sounds like you want Google to stop taking your private pictures and posting them online somewhere. Is that right? If that's the case, I'm pretty confident that there's been a mixup somewhere. Google does not snoop through the pictures in your library, nor would Google ever post any of your pictures without your express consent.

My suggestion is that you look back through your sharing settings to see who you've shared pictures with. If you're unable to determine who might be posting your pictures without permission, you should disable all sharing so that none of your pictures are accessible to anybody at all.

The first thing I suggest is that you try to locate the stolen device with Android's Find My Device tool https://www.google.com/android/find It's also a good idea to report the theft to the law-enforcement authorities.

If the photos are not here https://photos.google.com (be sure to sign in with all your Google accounts if you have more than one) nothing can unfortunately be done. In this case even Google can do nothing because the photo data are not on their servers or anywhere they have access to.

If the photos on the phone were uploaded online before the device got stolen you should be able to access them by visiting the https://photos.google.com website and signing in with all your Google accounts if you have more than one.

If the photos are not there, nothing can unfortunately be done to recover them.

As for the other data on the phone, assuming they were synchronized online before the device got stolen, you should be able to access the data by opening the corresponding Google app and signing in with the same Google account you had on the other phone.

For example, by opening the Gmail app with the appropriate account you should get your mails. But here we can't help you further with other Google products because we focus only on Google Photos.

To bring back the pics to your phone's gallery, either, you can download photos one by one.

Regrettably, there is no option to do so on a batch of photos.

Alternatively, you can install the Google One app there is a one time option to restore up to two hundred most recent photos to the device.

However, the local folder structure can not be restored.

To do so, there is no requirement to join Google One, the option is available to everyone.

However, the method may not be effective to recover something when the count is more than two hundred.

Or, you can arrange for a bulk download by visiting the link https://takeout.google.com/

Select the Google Photos app for data download.

Once the file is ready, you will get an email. Access that & unzip all the attachments into your phone's gallery.

Once done, please uninstall the Google Photos app (Or disable that).

I highly recommend copying your photos/videos to one other location in addition to Google Photos before removing them from your phone. Then they will be safe.

For example, I have the OneDrive app on my phone and it is copying all my photos and videos to my Microsoft account. That is my secondary backup - Google Photos is my first. Once my photos are copied to both the Google cloud, and the Microsoft cloud - now I feel safe removing them from the phone.

Basically the free-up space option only deletes from phone what is safely stored at Google already.

But thereafter many people want back "everything" because they don't know how to work with the Google Photos app instead of their standard gallery and they also found it very uncomfortable to be dependant on wifi for comfortable viewing.

So after convincing yourself if everything is okay on photos.google.com you also can decide to delete the oldest month in your gallery every new month to keep enough space on phone.

And if you have a computer you also can connect your phone via its usb-cable and every month to update your import-action via the built-in Photos-app of Windows-10.

Then you don't need to use OneDrive if you don't have a Microsoft-365 subscription for having enough space in Microsoft cloud.

If it always has worked before, you are out of free storage in your account: see one.google.com/storage

If most of the GB's are used by Photos, you need to apply the Recover storage button on photos.google.com/settings and then wait a day - then your mail will run in again.

Thereafter you need to change the backupsetting in the Photos-app to "storage saver quality" to prevent to run in the same problem soon again - but shooting 4K movies can't be done very long without starting to pay for more space at Google.
