1. Items deleted from your photos.google.com are stored in trash for 60 days and then are Auto-Deleted from trash and can not be recovered.

2. Items deleted manually from photos.google.com/trash can not be recovered.

3. Items deleted from your YouTube Channel can not be recovered.

4. Items deleted from your Gmail are stored in trash for 30 days and then are Auto-Deleted from trash and can not be recovered.

5. Items manually deleted from Gmail trash can not be recovered.

6. Items deleted from your Google Drive will be stored in Drive Trash for 30 days and then be Auto-Deleted from Trash and can not be recovered.

1).If you are using a regular personal account

You will have to contact a Google Drive Specialist who *MAY* be able to restore it. Use this link:

Wow, your screenshot of Backup and Sync setting show an old version of design.
Google changed the specification of sync between Google Photos and Google Drive.

Along with that, the Backup and Sync app has also changed the design of setting.

By specification changed, a photo file in "Computers" of Google Drive is not synced to Google Photos site, at least about a photo uploaded after 10th July. (not yet verify about one uploaded before 10th July)
Even if using old version, the cloud has already disconnected the sync between 2 services.

Are you trying to say that many of the pics of a particular person are not getting clubbed under the name?

Then, that will happen over a period.

The app goes through the photos collection repeatedly & adds the pictures to the existing grouping.

Nevertheless, you can force that through the following steps.

Tap to open the photo which contains unidentified faces & then slide up or tap the three dots.

If the app had failed to include some faces in that picture, then you will see a prompt "XX faces available to add".

Tap the edit icon at the extreme right edge. (An icon of a pencil).

That will show identified faces in square boxes & their thumbnails at the bottom.

Tap on the + sign on each thumbnail.

Then the app will present the thumbnails of all the available groupings. Select the right one.

However, if you feel, the face requires to be in a new group, then tap the + symbol at the top right corner. That will create a distinct group. Use the same one for any additional photos of the same person & build the collection manually.

However, it's not clear why do you want to take this very unfavourable action of breaking the phone.

However, before doing so, please ensure every picture on the phone is backed up to Google Photos.

To check that, please visit the link https://photos.google.com/

If you don't see some pictures, please check for what reason the backup is stuck.

Possible reasons are:

The phone is waiting for WIFI
Backup and sync are not active for some of the folders etc.

Complete the backup.

Once done, you can view the pictures through the Google Photos app on the new phone.

However, the photos will be there on the cloud only & not inside the internal memory of your new phone.

Nevertheless, many phone manufacturers provide utilities to transfer apps & media to a new phone. Through that, you can have the pics in the gallery of your new phone.

To overcome the current problem, please try deactivating the face grouping & then reactivate that.

The app will rebuild the database in the background. However, that may take four to six hours depending upon the quantum of your photos collection.

If that doesn't work, please reinstall the app through the following steps.

On your Android phone, open the Settings.
Tap Apps and notifications.
Tap Show all apps.
Tap Google Photos.
Tap Storage and cache.
Tap Clear storage.
Next, uninstall the Google Photos app.
Power off the phone & then restart.
Install the latest version of the Google Photos app through the Play Store.
Log into your profile & see whether that helps to overcome the current problem.

The current video editor in Google Photos allows only the following four actions

Trim the video
Export frames
Stabilise
Or Rotate.

Additionally, if you have created a movie using any existing videos or pictures, then you can add your audio track.

You can use that workaround. Create a movie using existing video, add some pictures to that & choose your narration. You can use the picture to indicate the end of the movie.

To add narration, open the movie in edit mode, tap the music symbol & select your recording. That would serve your purpose.

I have found this to be the case on iOS with Chrome, Firefox, and Safari, and also on Android. Clearing the browser cache does nothing. If anyone has additional suggestions that would be great!

I also have this issue. It starts with changes not taking place real time when I edit. To test it, I make extreme edits, the click on the photo to see the original, and nothing has changed. I'll close editing mode, then re-open, and then the photo doesn't appear (see attachment). After making even simple edits (Android, Galaxy S9), it will just spin, sometimes as long as one to two minutes.

And even after taking a photo or video, it takes a while, sometimes several minutes to appear in the Photos app. Note: They appear immediately in the Samsung Gallery app.

The Google Photos app acts as a portal to view both the Device copy and the Google Photos 'backed up' copy. It does not store any photos.

Each time you choose a different account it will 'see' all the photos on the device, but it does not 'back them up' You can check which account the photos are backed up to at Photos - Google Photos - Tap here and signing in with each account.

My High Quality photos and videos are already being counted toward my slotted 15 GB Google account storage, even though the change doesn't happen until June. As Google mentions, high quality and express media will not be counted towards your storage until June when its policy is changing. Until then I should be able to back up unlimited amounts of High Quality images and videos. But my account is already almost full. And barely any of it is accounted by my mail and drive storage, most of it is my high quality uploaded media. This seems to be bug that's preventing me to save my photos. I've checked, my media settings are high quality.

It would be unusual for HQ photos to use storage, please head over to https://one.google.com/storage/management and check if the storage is in any of the trash places, or large files in Gmail, Drive & Photos, or just below in Unsupported videos. This should give a clue on where the storage is being used.

You should also be able Recover storage at https://photos.google.com/settings to reduce the storage used by Google Photos to zero.
