Question: Howhere is the best place to move my pictures an music where it wont take all my internal ph storag
Where to move music photos no internal space left
Hi, Dawn East
Welcome to Google Photos Community Support Forum & thanks for your query.
First, you should copy all the music & photo files from your phone to some hard disc.
Once done, please ensure that everything is backed up to Google Photos.
You can visit the link https://photos.google.com and verify that quickly.
Once assured, then you can go for "Free up space" option through Google Photos. That will remove all the original photos from you phone & thus releasing the space.
Nevertheless, Google Photos doesn't store the music files. You will have to look for some other service to backup those.

Due to previous security issues, I can no longer make purchases with this account. I greatly appreciate your level of security so my payment info doesn't get stolen. However, this account is still linked or connected to a third party app (downloaded from the play store) that I wish to make purchases on. How do I remove or unlink this account so I can use my other account to make purchases? As seen in the attached file, my account is being used but there isn't an option to switch to my other gmail account (at least that I can see).

Question: I have duplicate photos that have different file sizes (381.5 KB & 8.2) Which one should I delete?
I want to delete duplicate photos
Hello Melissa,
Thanks for posting in the Google Photos Help forum.
Google Photos has identical duplicate detection, where if you have uploaded photos to Google Photos already, it will not re-upload the same photo (each photo file has a unique "Hash" that allows us to determine this).
Hence, Google Photos avoids uploading duplicates, when different upload methods or devices are used, as long as the photos aren't edited. There is no easy way to remove duplicates, but some of the following may help:
- You can delete duplicates manually, for example in https://photos.google.com/ where they should be next to each other.
- The problem is however which one to delete:
- one photo may be edited, the other not,
- one photo may be in an album, the other not.
- When the upload dates are different (for example when you uploaded long ago via Picasa, and now again using the Desktop uploader). It may be easier to delete the duplicates in https://photos.google.com/search/_tra_ where they are sorted by upload date.
- There are more ways to get a useful search result, for example the device from which they are uploaded.
- See https://sites.google.com/site/picasaresources/Home/Picasa-FAQ/google-photos-1/how-to/how-to-search-for-photos
- Since very recently it is possible to delete photos directly from an album. Go to "More options" (3-dots icon), and use "Move to trash"
- When you uploaded in the free "High Quality" and have your photos in albums, it may be wiser to simply ignore the duplicates in the library.
Unfortunately, a feature to sort and delete duplicates of photos with Google Photos that are already backed up doesn't exist. You may have to manually select the duplicates and delete them.
Meanwhile, also try giving the below steps a try once again in a sequence to help resolve the issue:
- Sign out and sign back in to Google Photos (photos.google.com) with the same Google Account.
- Clear your cookies and cache.
- Try Incognito/private window.
- Disable extensions/add-ons/plug-ins.
- Try a different browser to see if it is a browser related issue.
Let me know how it goes.
Best,
Amanda

Seems that the photos I uploaded as 'High Quality' (currently the 'Storage Saver' mode) are still counted in the total storage limit, even I uploaded all of them before May 31 from mobile.

@Sira
My guess is that Google is delayed due to the last minute panic actions of many users.
The only realistic thing you can do now is pressing the Recover storage button on photos.google.com/settings in the Chromebrowser if that button is not grey.
If you are lucky, the amount will become zero next day.
Good luck

I had issue with my gmail not letting any mail in which is why I deleted a lot of my pictures from my google photos but that didn't seem to reduce my storage. In return it deleted all those pics from my iPhone gallery. Why did google photos deleted photos from my gallery without my consent ? ? How to recover all my lost photos due this grave error by google photos ?
Answer:
@Prisha
That's no grave error, but wrong thinking like the other half of the world. But because you are on iPhone, nothing is lost because they can be recovered from the Recently deleted folder in the Apple Photos app.
The Google app shows the pictures on phone like any gallery, so when you start deleting they are deleted from phone primarily and with backup ON, they also are deleted at Google. But bulk deletions never work-out as expected and they are extremely stupid, because you are ruïning your backup. So why did you use Google Photos then?
The other basic mistake you probably have made that you have chosen original quality in the backup settings and then you always will run out of your free account space and thereby Gmail got blocked.
So the only correct way to use less storage is by using the Recover space button on photos.google.com/settings and then wait a day. You also can check there if there are any unsupported videos hanging - then these should be deleted to gain some space.
But if you want to go on with Photos, you should recover the deleted from Google trash first and change its backup setting into storage saving quality (= former high quality) and start paying at the end of this year. Or you should switch-on iCloud and start paying immediately.

I have shared the albums but when the original account is closed I will lose the albums
@Louis
But if you select all pictures in such a shared album and you hit the + you can create a new album which you can give the same name in your new account. Then these picture automatically will get stored in the mainstream also.
No better method available, so good luck.
PS: for selecting all, hold the first one for a second and then slowly scroll down. I can't test easily if the old limit of 500 still applies, but you will find-out yourselves.

I now have access to the locked photos folder on my phone, but I haven't found a clear answer on how this feature interacts with photos on the web. Answer:
Hello Patrick,
That features stays pixel exclusive for now even, I can't find from the web.

Additionally, the locked folder is physically on the device and when you move a photo into it all synced copies are deleted from the web. No other apps can see it, exclusively visible only through the Google Photos app. It does not survive a factory reset.

Hello, I recently had a wedding and several guests shared photos with me from their Google photos accounts. I saved a handful of these to my account using the "add to library" feature. Now I am trying to identify who took/shared certain photos with me. I assumed the original users name would be saved somewhere (under the info section maybe?) but this doesn't seem to be the case.
Is there anyway to view the original photographer/author of these images?

Hi CMroz,

Answer:
Hi Doug,
Thanks for the quick reply! I've been doing pretty much what you suggested by comparing the camera types, but a ton of "iPhone X"s only gets me so far. This has to be an oversight for a modern social photo sharing platform - if not for the copyright issues, just for the ability to better organize shared images.
I've sent the photos team feedback through the app.
Thanks again for taking the time to respond to my question.

Answer:
Hello Dyvette,
Please review the following information in case there are any options you haven't yet tried.
1. Check your online account - photos.google.com
If your photos were successfully uploaded to your online Google Photos account they may be available there. Try visiting photos.google.com and searching for them. If you have more than on
2. Check the trash - photos.google.com/trash
Once you delete photos from your Google Photos account, they're moved to Trash for the next 60 days. If you deleted them by mistake you can always restore them from the Trash folder within those 60 days. Here's the link explaining how to recover them from Trash. If you have more than one Google account, check the trash for all of them.
If you accessed the Trash and manually sent the photos for permanent deletion, or if the 60 days expired, there is no way to recover them from Google Photos.
3. Review other options
- if you previously used Picasa, visit picasaweb.google.com and search for your photos.
- have you made any backups of the photos on your phone, camera, computer, or elsewhere?
- there is a small chance that you can restore the photos using a recover deleted photos app (Android). I haven't used them myself so have no specific recommendations. There may well be more app options if you visit the appropriate app store and try other search terms. I don't see any similar apps on the iOS store, but you could check yourself.
- you can contact the Google Drive support team to see if any deleted files may be recovered. Use the Google Drive contact form, click Missing or deleted files, select a contact option, and be sure to tell them you permanently deleted files in Google Drive.
- If you ever shared the photos with anyone else, it's possible they may have a copy they could share back or send to you.
Thanks.

Welcome to Google Photos Community Support Forum & thanks for your query.
However, I am finding your query to be unclear.
Did you go for "Free up space"?
That will remove the originals from your phone only retaining the backed up data on cloud intact.
Or, did you go on deleting the pics from your phone & then emptied the bin?
If so, there wouldn't be any possibility to recover those through Google Photos. Once the bin is emptied, the data vanishes from the cloud completely.
However, you may install to your Android device a deleted photo recovery app (be sure to not pick one that requires rooting) https://play.google.com/store/search?q=recover%20deleted%20photos&c=apps;
and run a scan for anything to recover.

If I upload in original quality
- If I upload in original quality using Google Photos or Backup and sync, All the photos count against my storage plan quota? OR only photos those have more than 16MP and videos with more than 1080p will be counted against the plan quota?
Answer:
Hi Aj123,
All the photos and videos are counted against quota irrespective of size, If you choose upload size as "original quality
Answer:
AJ,
Barry is correct. If you choose Original Quality, the size of your picture and video files will count against your storage quota regardless of the resolution of the picture or video.
The official Google Photos Help page explains all of this.
Simply put, when it comes to Original Quality uploads, here is what it says:
- All photos and videos are stored in the same resolution that you took them.
- Recommended for photos that have more than 16MP and videos with more than 1080p.
- Recommended for printing large banners
When it comes to High Quality uploads, here is what it says:
- Photos are compressed to save space. If a photo is larger than 16MP, it will be resized to 16MP.
- Videos higher than 1080p will be resized to high-definition 1080p. A video with 1080p or less will look close to the original. Some information, like closed captions, might be lost.

~ Greg

1. Items deleted from your photos.google.com are stored in trash for 60 days and then are Auto-Deleted from trash and can not be recovered.
2. Items deleted manually from photos.google.com/trash can not be recovered.
3. Items deleted from your YouTube Channel can not be recovered.
4. Items deleted from your Gmail are stored in trash for 30 days and then are Auto-Deleted from trash and can not be recovered.
5. Items manually deleted from Gmail trash can not be recovered.
6. Items deleted from your Google Drive will be stored in Drive Trash for 30 days and then be Auto-Deleted from Trash and can not be recovered.
1).If you are using a regular personal account
You will have to contact a Google Drive Specialist who *MAY* be able to restore it. Use this link:
2). If you use a work/student account (G Suite), you should contact your Account Admin as they can restore files up to 25 days after deletion.

There are pictures of a family member with a mask on and they have no face attached to them nor can I attach on to them. I was wondering how to maunally group faces or add a face even though that option is not available anywhere. I already have froup faces on and that family member has a couple pictures with her mask down from the same day, taken just a few hours apart. I want to know if google photos can fix my problem manually, I do it myself somehow, or something else. But please, I have been trying to accomplish this for days. Also, creating an album for the 70 or so photos with a mask on did not help either.

Hi, CHET Company
Welcome to Google Photos Community Support Forum & thanks for your query.
You can add a person through the following steps.
Tap to open the photo which contains unidentified faces & then slide up or tap the three dots.
If the app had failed to include some faces in that picture, then you will see a prompt "XX faces available to add".
If the app had failed to include some faces in that picture, then you will see a prompt "XX faces available to add".
Tap the edit icon at the extreme right edge. (An icon of a pencil
).
(However, please note, the feature to add or edit faces may not be available in some regions.)
That will show identified faces in square boxes & their thumbnails at the bottom.
Tap on the + sign on each thumbnail.
Then the app will show you all the identified faces till that time.
You can select the right one.
Tap on the + sign on each thumbnail.
Then the app will show you all the identified faces till that time.
You can select the right one.
If not, tap the + sign at the top right corner of the screen.
That would create a new grouping altogether.
That would create a new grouping altogether.
Once created, the app may take some time to bring all the related pictures to this new grouping.
Otherwise, you can go through the collection & add the photos to the newly created group, manually, through the same steps as described above.

Question: How to recovery to deleted photos
How to recovery to deleted photos
Hello Sir ,
If you have uploaded photos on google photos and deleted it please take a look at the below info.
Following is text from the official Google Photos Help page about deleting and restoring photos and videos:
Restore photos & videosIf you deleted an item and want it back, check your trash to see if it’s there.
- On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google Photos app
.
- At the bottom, tap Library
Trash
.
- Touch and hold the photo or video you want to restore.
- At the bottom, tap Restore. The photo or video will be back:
- In your phone’s gallery app
- In your Google Photos library
- In any albums it was in
If the item is not in your trash, it may be permanently deleted.
Important:
- If you delete a photo or video that’s backed up in Google Photos, it will stay in your trash for 60 days.
- If you delete an item from your Android device without it being backed up, it will stay in your trash for 60 days.
- If you see a photo or video in Google Photos that you think you deleted, it might be on a removable memory card. To delete it, use your device’s gallery app.
Empty your trashIf you see a request to "Delete permanently" when you try to move an item to trash, your trash is full. Your trash can hold 1.5GB.Important: If you empty your trash, you permanently delete any items in your trash.Don't see the photo or video? If a deleted photo or video isn't in trash, you can’t restore it. You won't be able to restore a photo if:
- You moved it to trash more than 60 days ago.
- You moved it to trash, then emptied your trash.
- You permanently deleted it from your trash.
- You permanently deleted it from your device’s Gallery app, without backing it up first.
When you attempt to manually empty the trash bin in Google Photos, a warning message box appears that explains you are about to permanently delete those pictures and videos. If you choose to proceed anyway, there is nothing that any of the volunteers in this forum can do to help you recover your pictures.
The information on the following Google Photos Help pages will help you become more familiar with finding, deleting, and restoring your pictures:
If you deleted pictures or videos that were not previously backed up to your account through the Google Photos app, then unfortunately there's nothing that Google or any of the volunteers in this Help Community can do to recover them.
Files that existed only on your phone, ones that were never uploaded to the cloud, cannot be recovered or restored by a cloud storage service. Simply put, Google can't help you recover files it never had in the first place.
Thanks.

Question: I have taken some photos in this device on 30.03.2018 , but now it is not in the Google photos. Where It is now? Can you help me?
Some photos
Hello Mmahesh,
Thanks for posting in the Google Photos Help Forum.
I understand how important the photos are for you and I'll try my best to help. It can be possible that the photos weren't uploaded successfully to Google Photos (cloud) and also make sure you're logged in to Google Photos with the same Google Account that you used during the backup. Photos/videos that are not synced or backed up, will still appear in Google Photos and will have this icon
(which means not synced/backed up) or some photos/videos will also show up with the two arrows in a circle mean backup is in progress.
Once the upload is complete there will be no icon on any photos/videos. Often, many of us misinterpret that they are all backed up because the photos/videos show up in Google Photos and we over see the icons on each photo/video. If the photos/videos weren't backed up they cannot be deleted from the Google Photos library nor Trash.
In case, you are uploading a large amount of data (photos/videos), please know that it might take 24-48 hours for the photos and videos to sync across all devices. Please ensure to have 'Backup & sync' enabled on the Google Photos settings while you're backing up your photos and videos. To check is the content is backed up, login in to photos.google.com to checked for your backed up photos and videos.
However, if you're sure they were backed up, I recommend you looking for your video here:
- photos.google.com.
- photos.google.com/trash.
- picasaweb.google.com.
- drive.google.com (under Google Photos).
If a photo/s is deleted from Google Photos, it would go to Trash/Bin for the next 60 days (after deletion). Unfortunately, if the photos aren't found in Trash or deleted from Trash, I'm afraid, you might not find them else where to recover them because Trash is the last resort to retrieve your lost/deleted photos.
Meanwhile, also try giving the below steps a try once again in a sequence to help resolve the issue:
- Close the Google Photos app and re-launch it.
- Sign out and sign back in to Google Photos with the same Google Account.
- Clear App data:
- Open your device's Settings app (not the Google Settings app).
- Touch Apps.
- Select Google Photos in the list.
- Touch Clear data.
- Update the Google Photos app on your Android phone:
- Visit the Google Play Store.
- Open Google Photos.
- Touch on Update.
Let me know how it goes.
Best,
Amanda
