After iOS 14.6 update when I take a picture it does not save to Google photos. When I open the Google photos app it's completely blank. I have to delete the app and reinstall it in order to see photos on my phone. Photos aren't saving to the camera roll or the app. I have enough storage, so I'm not sure what the issue is.
Answer:
@Keisha
Just update my old iPad Air 2 to 14.6 (took long, so it was a very serious update), but no problems in the Google Photos app thereafter and a new testpicture shooted was perfectly shown and backupped.
So restart the phone and start the app and check your accountsettings under the small circle right-up and also your backupsetting in the settings under that circle.
Also check in the general settings if the app is allowed to work in background and is not hindered by some battery saving intelligence.
If the problems are not solved, use the feedback option under the small circle to report - that includes your system data for Google. We can do no more here - just users like you.
Good luck

Hello Vignesh,
I'm sorry, but the photos can't be restored if the trash is emptied.
Don't see the photo or video?
If something isn't in your trash, it can't be restored. You won't be able to restore a photo if:
- You moved it to trash more than 60 days ago
- You moved it to trash, then emptied your trash
- You permanently deleted it from your trash
But there is maybe a small chance that you can recover the photos, you can try to use a program like Recuva.
Greetings from Ann

Question: Why was my photos deleted permanently even if it didn't stuck in the trash?
My photos were permanently deleted immediately after I deleted them. What happened?
Hi Jeztine
If you delete a photo from your phone's gallery it will be permanently deleted without going to Photos' trash.
Or, if you delete a photo without it being backed up, it will delete from your phone's local storage.
Here's a link to better understand what happens when deleting an image.
You can double check your Online Google Photos account by logging in via a web browser and see if the image was moved to the trash there, in case there was a connection issue while syncing your deletion.
Also, note that typically the Android app will provide an alert to let you know if this is a deletion or a move to the trash. Likewise, also pay attention to any text next to the Trash icon. It may say Delete or Trash or Move to trash depending on the context.

Hi Fred,
Welcome to the Google Photos Product Help Forum!
>>> what photos specific photos are these? where are they stored? how do i see them at any time?
They are photos you can see at https://photos.google.com/u/0/
You can also them in the Google Photos app on your phone, but you might see some things there which have not been backed up yet (if you don't see the "Backup complete" cloud with checkmark icon.
Note: It is strongly recommended that you do NOT use iCloud Photo Library and the Google Photos app simultaneously. It is important to strong important irreplaceable images in more than one place.
The Google Photos app on iOS will generally only copy images to the cloud when the app is open. Therefore it is logical if you decide to use it, that you very seldom use the standard iOS Photos (Gallery). Albums created in the standard iOS Photos (Gallery) do not transfer to Google Photos, so it generally makes no sense to maintain albums there.
IF you are using, paying for, are happy with iCloud Photo Library (and probably are completely committed to the Apple platform), you might not want to use Google Photos. If you want free unlimited cloud storage for your images (at "High quality" not "Original quality" resolution), then Google Photos is probably a good solution. I have > 80,000 photos in my free Google Photos cloud storage and can easily access them on my iPhone, iPad, and laptop.

Thanks for your reply
To remove the pics through the phone storage without affecting the ones on cloud, you have to follow either of these two routes.
Tap to open any backed up picture & then slide up. Below the pic, you will find an option "Delete from device".
Selecting that option ensures that only the original is removed through your phone & the backed up copy on the cloud remains untouched.
If you want to take the same action in bulk, the go for the "Free up space" option in the settings. That performs the same action as above removing the original of every backed up picture from the device.
But, never delete any picture directly once you have switched on backup & sync.

However, no. Google doesn't maintain any backup once a user deletes something permanently.
You had a window of sixty days to review your delete action. However, once you let that go, there wouldn't be anything beyond that.

Hi, Rebecca Bloom
Welcome to Google Photos Community Support Forum & thanks for your query.
The Google Photos app can't recognise a USB flash drive.
You need to use a file explorer to transfer the pics to the USB.
If you do not have one, please install the "Files" app by Google.
Next, open the photos directory.
Tap the three dots & tap on option "Select all".
Next, select option "Move to"
Create a new folder in the USB & move all the content there.

Hi, Linda Shelton
Welcome to Google Photos Community Support Forum & thanks for your query.
However, regretfully, your query is not related to any feature in the Google Photos app
.
I suggest, you please look into the documentation provided by your tablet's manufacturer or the app developer.
Answer:
Thank you for your reply. I'm not sure about the app developer, I never received any info about my tablet, so I'm hoping it will clear up itself. I really need my Adobe PDF for work, so once I receive another document it might come back??? Will check for a phone number for my Smart Tab Tablet. Thanks again
Answer:
Sorry Linda, this has nothing to do with Google Photos.
But you may use Google Drive which can store and share PDF-files and also can show their contents.
No need for Adobe anymore.
PS: be aware that an old tablet can have much too less local free space for doing anything good anymore.

Hello Marco,
If the vedio was not uploaded then it wouldn't be found in the bin.
I think it's permanently deleted.
You can still check your gallery trash or Google photos archive folder if you might find it there.
Thanks.

"Everyone with a Google account starts out with the basic 15-gigabyte plan, which is free. If you get Google One, there are six other storage plan options to choose from, depending on your location."

Why don't you all who works for the google company stop making people pay for more storage space, if they wanted to upgrade more space for themselves perhaps it'd be better for them to do it manually rather than waiting for 24 hours from you guys to approve it for all google users for free just like the 15-gigabyte plan.
You guys have a lot of money already and still have big plans for the future, stop being greedy towards storage space. :/
And i'm talking about all three apps of google: gmail, google photos, and google drive three of these apps needs to be fair for everyone to have more storage space for free not just a basic 15 gigabyte plan, you know? 😐

There's an issue with Google putting legal photos that aren't blurry in the blurry photos section of My storage manager causing unnecessary storage data quota on photos that aren't blurry and that I need to keep and some things like the sun or moon will always come out blurry so this is a problem because these are photos I can't delete and save space cause they aren't real blurry photos or they are photos that will be impossible to come out clear like pictures of the sun or moon. Please help me to know what I should do so I don't have actual photos that are clear counted against my blurry photos section in storage manager. Like this one for example. It's a picture of the moon and there's no way it will come out any clearer than this and it's a problem because I can't delete it and I need this photo and I don't think it should be counting as a blurry photo in my storage manager. I know this section was meant to delete unnecessary photos but this one is not unnecessary it's one I need to keep

Hello User,
Please review the following information in case there are any options you haven't yet tried.
1. Check your online account - photos.google.com
If your photos were successfully uploaded to your online Google Photos account they may be available there. Try visiting photos.google.com and searching for them. If you have more than on
2. Check the trash - photos.google.com/trash
Once you delete photos from your Google Photos account, they're moved to Trash for the next 60 days. If you deleted them by mistake you can always restore them from the Trash folder within those 60 days. Here's the link explaining how to recover them from Trash. If you have more than one Google account, check the trash for all of them.
If you accessed the Trash and manually sent the photos for permanent deletion, or if the 60 days expired, there is no way to recover them from Google Photos.
3. Review other options
- if you previously used Picasa, visit picasaweb.google.com and search for your photos.
- have you made any backups of the photos on your phone, camera, computer, or elsewhere?
- there is a small chance that you can restore the photos using a recover deleted photos app (Android). I haven't used them myself so have no specific recommendations. There may well be more app options if you visit the appropriate app store and try other search terms. I don't see any similar apps on the iOS store, but you could check yourself.
- you can contact the Google Drive support team to see if any deleted files may be recovered. Use the Google Drive contact form, click Missing or deleted files, select a contact option, and be sure to tell them you permanently deleted files in Google Drive.
- If you ever shared the photos with anyone else, it's possible they may have a copy they could share back or send to you.
Thanks.

Google seems to have no idea what blurry is, so just neglect and accept that every photo takes some storage now. Because a really blurry photo already was deleted by you almost immediately.

@Nandha
You are very unclear because your photos on Drive only can be seen via the Drive-app.
And the Google Photos app does not show photos on Drive.
It does not even show photos on Photos, but on your phone merely.
You need to view photos.google.com in the Chromebrowser to see what you have on Photos-cloud.
Please come back and try to explain what you want to do or change?
