Question: How do I recover long deleted photos
Recover photos deleted longer than 60 days.
Hello Richard,
Please review the following information in case there are any options you haven't yet tried.
1. Check your online account - photos.google.com
If your photos were successfully uploaded to your online Google Photos account they may be available there. Try visiting photos.google.com and searching for them. If you have more than on
2. Check the trash - photos.google.com/trash
Once you delete photos from your Google Photos account, they're moved to Trash for the next 60 days. If you deleted them by mistake you can always restore them from the Trash folder within those 60 days. Here's the link explaining how to recover them from Trash. If you have more than one Google account, check the trash for all of them.
If you accessed the Trash and manually sent the photos for permanent deletion, or if the 60 days expired, there is no way to recover them from Google Photos.
3. Review other options
- if you previously used Picasa, visit picasaweb.google.com and search for your photos.
- have you made any backups of the photos on your phone, camera, computer, or elsewhere?
- there is a small chance that you can restore the photos using a recover deleted photos app (Android). I haven't used them myself so have no specific recommendations. There may well be more app options if you visit the appropriate app store and try other search terms. I don't see any similar apps on the iOS store, but you could check yourself.
- you can contact the Google Drive support team to see if any deleted files may be recovered. Use the Google Drive contact form, click Missing or deleted files, select a contact option, and be sure to tell them you permanently deleted files in Google Drive.
- If you ever shared the photos with anyone else, it's possible they may have a copy they could share back or send to you.
Thanks.

Question: Device pix
I just want to make sure if I delete the pix off my phone, will they still be in google photos?
Hi, Izzy Fiesta
Welcome to Google Photos Community Support Forum & thanks for your query.
No, the sync action will delete the backed up copy in Google photos also.
If you want to delete the original on the device, please tap to open the pic through Google Photos & then slide up.
Below the picture, you will notice an option "Remove from device". Tap on the text and that action will ensure only the device copy goes off retaining the backup on the cloud.

I only do backup photosand not videos
Hi, ADESH TYAGI
Welcome to Google Photos Community Support Forum & thanks for your query.
Understand your need to conserve the data & also space on Google Drive.
However, once a folder is selected for backup, the Google Photos app doesn't differentiate between photos & videos & proceeds to backup everything.
The only way to stop backing up videos is through these complicated steps.
- Turn off Backup & sync till you complete the below-mentioned actions.
- Once you record any video through your camera or download it through some external source, move that to a folder that you have not included in backup & sync.
- Once you ensure all videos are moved from the backed-up folders, turn on the backup & sync again.

Hi, krupali malaviya
Welcome to Google Photos Community Support Forum & thanks for your query.
Are you not finding your pics in Google Photos?
Can you please verify that by visiting the link https://photos.google.com ?
Enter the link in any browser on your phone & then log into your Google account to view the photos backed up on Cloud.
If you do not find anything, then there are two possibilities.
Either, the items have moved to the bin.
The Bin icon
becomes visible through the library view in the phone app.
Tap on the icon & then restore everything visible there.
Or, your backup was incomplete, so nothing got uploaded to the cloud.
The Google Photos app acts like a portal viewer showing everything from our phone and also the content backed up to the cloud,
Then, that creates a impression of everything getting backed up perfectly.
However, we need to check the status of backup periodically and look for the messages on "Backup and Sync" menu.
Further, we have to ensure every folder on our device is included in the backup & none shows a cloud symbol with slash.
If nothing was backed up to the cloud in the first place, regretfully, there is no way to recover those pics through Google Photos.

Maybe related with having the backup switched-off, but I can test myself because I have no Pixel.
So you are dependant on the experiences of other Pixel-users here, but if you are convinced that it is a bug, you should use the feedback option under your profile to report this behavior straight to Google.

Some of my photos in my backup have been lost. They were there yesterday and not today, I have went and looked into the deleted bin and they aren't there. I checked on my device but they were only backed up onto the Google photos (cloud?) Before I start contacting photo recovery companies which I assume are absurdly expensive if they can even recover them off my phone what are my options? About 3 years ago there also were many changes at Google and you may have changed yourself to another account. So if you are able to log-in to https://get.google.com/albumarchive with the account used in those years (perhaps in Picasa), you will be able to see and to download them if they ever has been uploaded to Picasaweb (which does not exist anymore).
That's all that can be said about.

Otherwise it’s not possible to recover photos permanently deleted from the Trash. However, you may install to your Android device a deleted photo recovery app (be sure to pick one that doesn't require rooting) https://play.google.com/store/search?q=recover%20deleted%20photos&c=apps and run a scan for anything to recover.

Possibly, you have turned on the motion photo feature in your camera.
Then for every click, the camera will click a three seconds video capturing one and half second before & after we tap click.
That's a useful feature as we can capture any precise moment in a live scene
Nevertheless. you can extract a still frame from a video through these steps.
- Tap to open the video
- Tap once again to make the controls visible
- Tap the edit icon
at the bottom
- Tap on the middle to make the frame selector visible.
- Mover the frame selector. You will see a preview of the frame above the selector. Once you decide about the right frame, then tap on export.
That frame will get saved as a still photo in your collection.

Question: Recover permanently deleted photos
Recover my permanently deleted photos
Hello Raja,
Please review the following information in case there are any options you haven't yet tried.
Thanks.

When you delete a photo in Google Photos it will also be deleted from all synced devices. In practice that are only mobile devices (phones and tablets) since syncing with computers has been disabled. There are however ways to do this:
- Disable Backup and sync on the device
- Move the photo to a non-synced folder before you delete it from Google Photos.
- Once done, open the link https://photos.google.com through any browser on your phone, log into your Google Account & start deleting the unwanted pics.

Question: Howdu store the photos and videos in SD card
Hi, PRAMOD M B
Welcome to Google Photos Community Support Forum & thanks for your query.
Do you want to store the pics on the SD card after shooting those through the camera on your phone?
For that, you will have to find out the settings through the documentation provided by the manufacturer of your phone.
However, if you want to move the pics already there in the phone's memory, then please follow these steps.
Although there are multiple ways to transfer the content from the internal memory of the phone to an SD card, doing so through Google Photos allows retaining the backup and sync aspect.
Please follow the steps below to achieve the transfer.
- Open Google Photos.
- Tab Library.
- Tap the desired folder under Photos on the device like Camera, Screenshots etc.
- Select photos by long pressing then tap others after the tick confirms the first selection
- You can also long-press and stroke down while still in a pressed condition, to select a batch.
- Next, tap the 3 dot menu top right.
- Tap Move to folder.
- Tap New SD folder, type a folder name then tap Create.
Note that if the photos are backed up to Google Photos this will not remove them from the Photos, and even if the new folder is not selected for Backup & sync any contents will still be deleted if you delete that using the Google Photos app.
