First of you should check the Trash; any photos that were previously backed up and deleted less than 60 days ago will be in there.
 
Once you delete them from the trash they are permanently deleted; they are only recoverable in 60 days if they are still in the trash. 
 
You could try using a third party photo recovery app at this point to try to recover some of what was lost from your phone - just type photo recovery into the play store and see what options are available.

If these pictures are labelled with #hoffsome, you can enter that tag in the searchbox on top of https://photos.google.com and then select the pictures that come and then they can be deleted. 
Thereafter, repeat the same action because I am not quite sure that all are deleted.

Hello Dave G,

Thanks for posting in the Google Photos Help Forum.

You can delete up to 500 photos and videos from your Google Photos library or in your SD card at a time. Know where photos do and don't get removed from before you delete photos and videos in Google Photos.

Photos and videos you delete are also removed from:Photos and videos you delete are not automatically removed from:
  • Blogger
  • YouTube
  • Gmail
  • Google+
Ensure that they are completely backed up to your alternate personal account (if any) before deleting them from anywhere, because deleting photos and video from Google Photos would delete them from the device as well. Signing out of the app or uninstalling the app, wouldn't delete nor remove the photos that are backed up to the cloud. You can either download them to an external storage device like a memory stick, and then re-upload them once they are deleted from the Google photos library.

Here's a help article to know more about deleting photos and videos in Google Photos.

2. Items deleted manually from photos.google.com/trash can not be recovered.
 
3. Items deleted from your YouTube Channel can not be recovered.
 
4. Items deleted from your Gmail are stored in trash for 30 days and then are Auto-Deleted from trash and can not be recovered.
 
5. Items manually deleted from Gmail trash can not be recovered.
 
6. Items deleted from your Google Drive  will be stored in Drive Trash for 30 days and then be Auto-Deleted from Trash and can not be recovered.
 
1).If you are using a regular personal account
You will have to contact a Google Drive Specialist who *MAY* be able to restore it. Use this link:
 
2). If you use a work/student account (G Suite), you should contact your Account Admin as they can restore files up to 25 days after deletion.

We can do nothing, but if they were well backupped, they should be at photos.google.com when he logs-in with his account. If almost nothing is there, they never were backupped correctly and then all are lost unless his account was shared with yours and they were saved in your account. 
Anyway, even if they are somewhere, it will be a hell of a job to get them back on his phone so forget about.

I have a Googel Pixel 3, I take good care of it.

All of the sudden, when I open Google Photos, open a video or share and It crashes. It shows an error on UI photos. 
I work with the phone, take some pictures and videos and when I try to access the footage it takes like 20X time to open a video. 
Im trying not to throw it out the window. Goosfraba.
For sure is not the hardware beacause there is no damage. I tryied reboot but not a "reset from factory". I have the latest version downloded, seems like it takes a lot of battery processing the videos, it overheats.

Any suggestions? Donno what to do, Im loosing it.

The screenshot you posted is the "Recently added" view where photos are sorted by upload date. 
I am not on an Apple computer, but think that it works the same:
  • Click on the gray check mark to the left of the date. That should select all photos uploaded that day. 
    Edit: I noticed that one batch only contained 500 pics. You may have to scroll down and select more batches. 
  • As soon as photos are selected some icons do appear in the right upper corner
  • Click the + icon > Album > New album. and give the album a name to allow to find it easily
  • For more uploads click + > Album and select the same album

My friend uploaded photos to a shared album but the uploaded photos vary incredibly in quality. 
The photos are around 22MP originally. In the shared album the photos got compressed to either 0.5MP, 11.8MP or 16MP. 
The 0.5MP photos are unusable obviously.

What is happening here?

It looks like the photos are only partially converted.
 
If your friend removes them from the shared album and them adds them again do you get the same results.

So recently my iPhone 6s 128 GB has reached the storage capacity, and since February I downloaded the Google Photos app to always have my photos & videos backed up so that when I need to delete some of them, they will always be saved somewhere. Then out of nowhere, when I was deleting some photos this past Saturday, I noticed they would also start getting deleted from the Google Photos app itself, and it keeps on happening to me, which defeats the purpose of me having & using the app.

Why is this happening all of a sudden, and most importantly for me how can I stop this from happening?  I haven't tampered with any of the Google Photos settings, so I'm not sure how it started, nor what I can do to get it to work normally again. I have one of my emails as a backup on the app that currently has 6.25 GB out of 15 GB used up, so space shouldn't be an issue on the app.

The safest way to delete photos from Google photos is to open the phot and tap the 3 dot menu to shoose the option to delete from device. If that option is not available then it means that your photo is not backed up.
 
Don't forget that deleted photos go into the Recently delete album in Apple Photos where they would need to be permanently deleted to recover storage,

I'm not trying to delete photos on Google Photos, I'm trying to delete the photos on my iPhone itself WITHOUT them being deleted from my Google Photos app itself.

If you are deleting from outside of Google Photos and you do not see them in the app it means that the photos have not been backed up to Google Photos. The app acts as a portal to view photos in your camera roll and also on the web.

If you go to https://photos.google.com/ and see the photo online, then deleting from the iPhone should not delete from online.  If the app says Backup is complete it could mean that software is confused and can be reset by deleting the app, restarting the iPhone and reinstalling the app. The app will need to be left open while the initial scan is complete.

Please let me know how things look after the reset.

So I just deleted the app on my iPhone, then reset it, only to go into the App Store and find the option to open the app, and every time I click on it it takes me right back to the iPhone screen where the app would be.  Rather than have the Google Photos logo on it, it has all these lines & circles on it as if it was a rough sketch.  I just gave my iPhone 6s a hard restart too, and the same thing is still going on.

However, can you clarify whether you want to include both the pictures in an album that you created? Or, the one appearing in the "People & pets" collection?
Steps will be different for these two actions.

To do so, tap to open the album from which you wish to remove the picture.
Next, locate the pic within that album and tap to open that.
Tap the three dots at the top right corner.
Slide up the picture slightly to reveal the menu options below that.
Tap on the option "Add to album".
Select the right album from the list appearing below and tap the required one.
After doing it tap on another option below the picture which says " Remove the album".
Once done, the desired photo will appear in the album of your choice.

However, please note, the above steps will not work with the albums appearing under the heading "People and pets".
