If you have uploaded photos on google photos and deleted it please take a look at the below info.

Following is text from the official Google Photos Help page about deleting and restoring photos and videos:

Restore photos & videos
If you deleted an item and want it back, check your trash to see if it’s there.
On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google Photos app .
At the bottom, tap Library Trash .
Touch and hold the photo or video you want to restore.
At the bottom, tap Restore. The photo or video will be back:
In your phone’s gallery app
In your Google Photos library
In any albums it was in
If the item is not in your trash, it may be permanently deleted.

Important:
If you delete a photo or video that’s backed up in Google Photos, it will stay in your trash for 60 days.
If you delete an item from your Android device without it being backed up, it will stay in your trash for 60 days.
If you see a photo or video in Google Photos that you think you deleted, it might be on a removable memory card. To delete it, use your device’s gallery app.
Empty your trash
If you see a request to "Delete permanently" when you try to move an item to trash, your trash is full. Your trash can hold 1.5GB.

Important: If you empty your trash, you permanently delete any items in your trash.

Don't see the photo or video?
If a deleted photo or video isn't in trash, you can’t restore it. You won't be able to restore a photo if:
You moved it to trash more than 60 days ago.
You moved it to trash, then emptied your trash.
You permanently deleted it from your trash.
You permanently deleted it from your device’s Gallery app, without backing it up first.

When you attempt to manually empty the trash bin in Google Photos, a warning message box appears that explains you are about to permanently delete those pictures and videos. If you choose to proceed anyway, there is nothing that any of the volunteers in this forum can do to help you recover your pictures.

If you deleted pictures or videos that were not previously backed up to your account through the Google Photos app, then unfortunately there's nothing that Google or any of the volunteers in this Help Community can do to recover them.

Files that existed only on your phone, ones that were never uploaded to the cloud, cannot be recovered or restored by a cloud storage service. Simply put, Google can't help you recover files it never had in the first place.

Could you please elaborate the issue or your query for me to assist you better? If you've deleted them from Google Photos and want to restore them, please know that photos/videos deleted from the Google Photos library, goes to the Trash for the next 60 days. So, in case, you deleted it by mistake you can always restore it from Trash folder within those 60 days (post deletion). But, if you don't find it in Trash, probably it must have been deleted more that 60 days ago. Unfortunately, restoring your lost/deleted photos and videos from Trash is the last resort.

The copy is saved in the Photoseditor folder in DCIM and this folder is wrongly named "Camera" on the Library-page of the app under Pictures on device and everything there also should be visible on the Photos-page also, maybe on a totally unexpected date in the past. But normally next to the original.

See recently added at the bottom of the Search page.

PS: saving copies always happens if you have switched-off backupping unless chosen by purpose.

When you click on the camera icon to change the profile picture, the you photos page also includes "Photos from your phone". Have you deleted all the pics from your phone?

Further, if you have deleted something today in the google photos , syncing of that info across multiple servers may take some time.

I guess, you are using a desktop for changing the profile picture.

The screenshot I displayed is a standard view on the desktop.

However, it may be so your desktop is not having any access to your phone.

But then, the resto of the entries visible in "Your Photos" come through Google Photos only.

Nevertheless, as I stated earlier, the synchronization of data through multiple servers will take some time & you have to wait for 1-2 days.

I currently have my photos and videos backing up automatically to Google Drive. The backup works fine, everything ends up in Google Photos and I can see them. It isn't clear to me which app is actually doing the backup (because Google One and Google Photos both make it seem like they are doing it) but it works. And I can specify which phone albums to back up, which works too.

The part that is very frustrating is that if I look in Google Photos, I see all the pictures, but only in one giant main folder. They are no longer separated by album. Not only does this make it needlessly difficult to use, it also makes it basically impossible for me to set an automated cleanup of the photos and storage. I've looked through the app, searched this forum and the web generally, and cannot seem to find an answer. How do I have my Google Photos backup process backup the actual albums, with the photos kept IN those album names when they arrive in the cloud?

You can view recently added on the search page (under the thumbnails), you can see them.

Or you need to type the name of their camera in the searchbox - you can see that name if you move-up an image. Such as "samsung SM-A405FN".

Both photos and videos are unlimited if you choose to upload in High Quality. If you upload at original quality, they'll take up however much storage the file size is.

There's no way to choose to upload them only as a still image, but you can choose to turn motion on/off on any photo at any time. At the top of any photo with motion there will be an icon of either a play button or pause button in a circle, tap this to turn motion on/off.

Both photos and videos are unlimited if you choose to upload in High Quality. If you upload at original quality, they'll take up however much storage the file size is.
