According to the blog from Google, after 10th of July the Photos and Drive will be disconnected so that if you delete a photo from Google Photos it will not be removed from Google Drive. I just deleted couple of photos from Google Photos, using a web browser, and they immediately disappeared from my Google Drive. This seems contrary to what the blog said. Anyone have any idea what might be causing this? I'm using 'Backup and Sync from Google' to sync my Google Drive to my PC if that matters.

Sorry Toni, it is a timing issue in that the roll-out is not complete and the help articles do not match the reality. Not much we can do except leave feedback to let Google know it is an issue, Google One have advised users that the roll-out may not be completed until August, Peter

Two-way sync is the built-in current feature in Google Photos.
You can keep the backup & sync off & upload the photos to the cloud, manually.

I think you may not have the most recent version of Google Photos. In the new version for Android, there is no capability for titles at all :-( 
If you were able to edit the title, but now you see it on the screen during the first 3 slides, that may be a function of the Theme. Try editing, then tap the Theme button and choose "Natural" or any other theme to see if it changes the way the title displays. If you do update your Google Photos app, realize that you will not be able to add titles to movies, or choose themes.  I"m sure those features will be added someday, but it's not there now.

Hi.
On a trip, sometimes there is a bad connection: either a weak communication signal, or the signal is torn and reappears, or several signals at the same time. Since there is roaming and you are constantly moving to a new location. Therefore, on the trip you need to wait a few hours before the files are fully are backed up in the Photos. The system works so that first in the Photos upload the preview of a small size. Then they become the standard size, once the communication signal is of good quality, and the original photo is completely copied into the cloud Photos. But if you delete your files from the Phone Gallery, then you will have a preview of a small size, since you yourself have already deleted the full original. That is, there was no upload to Photos of your original photos. If you delete the originals, then: either it can not be restored, or use special programs to restore the files on the device for your device type.

  2. tap Apps and notifications

Hello Curtis, unless your "albums" were created as proper albums in Google Photos, you won't find them in there. If they were local folders on your phone, those folders don't sync with Google Photos, only photos inside those folders sync and they would be sorted by date in your Google Photos library.

That said, none of the backed up photos should be missing, they should all be there listed by date in your library, they just won't be inside folders.

The photos were made into different albums inside google photos (I.e. Christmas, vacation, birthday party, etc), prior to making them albums they were individual pictures in google photos. I've tried multiple ways to find them but they are no where to be found. Check on the Library-page in the row under Photos on device (= Folders on device) if a social media folder in included with these smaller copies with no metadata - maybe send via Whatsapp. 
If found you need to switch-off the backup. 

For deleting you need to do this one by one on the site photos.google.com with the infopanel open to be able to select the lower quality ones. If there filenames include a special lettercombination like WA, you also can search for these files by typing WA in the searchbox. Then it is more easy to select a lot for deleting, but then you also need to take care that you don't delete the pictures received.  

Or come back with your findings for further discussion.
