If you have used the first option, the original will be intact.

However, in the second case, the will allow you to revert the previous edits.

That will list all the articles you posted or replied to date.

Another alternative is to search by inputting the text in the box at the top. However, that may not return results sometimes.

The 1080p HDTV that is attached to the Chromecast Ultra via HDMI connector is an older Sony Bravia that has no known faults. The Chromecast Ultra is wirelessly connected to my home network and internet via a 5Ghz signal. As soon as I do a disconnect from the casting function using Google Photos app to the Chromecast Ultra, the correct background comes back on the TV screen. There are no updates available from Apple for the Google Photo App. The version of IOS is 11.3 running on the iPad Pro and it is the latest version. From all my testing, the Google Photo app isn't capable of casting to the Google Chromecast Ultra from the iPad Pro.

Are you able to play the videos on Google Photos app on your iOS device without casting it on your Chromecast? If yes, then it's an issue with the Chromecast or your iOS device and they settings. I'd recommend contacting the Chromecast support for hep.

I'm having several iOS devices and a Google Chromecast stick. When I cast pictures from the Googe Fotos App it's working perfect for my iPhone 6s and my iPad Air2, but it is not working for my iPad Pro 2018 - the TV screen just goe's black. The Cromecast stick itself is also able to show the pictures during it's inactive modus. The pictures are all from the same source, residing in the cloud. From all my iOS devices - including the iPad Pro - I'm able the cast videos via the Chromecast stick. I am having the same problem with the combination of iPad Pro 2018, iOS 12.1.1 and the Google Photos App. I can stream videos from the app to the Chromecast ultra but when I switch to a photo the screen turns black. When disconnecting the app the default background pictures of my Chromecast come back. So in general the chromecast ultra works but not with photos.

With my iPhone XS it works. So it's an iPad issue.

I am using a LG 2018 4K Oled TV so this should not be a problem of an outdated TV.

I think I found the solution. My friend and I have the same phones, Sony Xperia XZ1 Compact and both are connected to the same Chromecast and same TV. My friend had no problems casting from his phone, Google Photo was working just perfect while mine would do just as described here: When I was trying to cast from Google Photo, the TV would make a blink like it was connecting and then go back to black. All other apps would cast without problems at the same time. I tried several things; reinstalling Google Photo and Google Home apps, restarting phone, clearing cache, rebooting both router and chromecast device and resetting factory settings. I checked both my friends phone and mine, and found that we had both the latest updates of everything. Then it came to my mind that I have restricted the access of different apps on my phone. Under Carrier Service and Google Play Service I purposely had turned off the access to the microphone. The same second I changed this setting, the casting from Google Photo started working perfectly. I tried turn off this access again, and the problem was back. So.. Maybe this also is the case for some of you?

I suggest you try the following actions.

Clear the stored data of the Google Photos app through the "Apps & Notifications" settings on your phone.

I understand and I know how important Google Photos is for you. Please give the below steps a try in a sequence to help resolve the issue:

Check your internet connection (mobile data).
Close the Google Photos app and re-launch it.
Sign out and sign back in to Google Photos with the same Google Account.
Clear App data:

Open your device's Settings app (not the Google Settings app).
Touch Apps.
Select Google Photos in the list.
Touch Clear data.

Update the Google Photos app on your Android phone:

Visit the Google Play Store.
Open Google Photos.
Touch on Update.

However, you have provided too little information.

Even when we turn on "Backup & sync" we have to verify the actual status of backup to see whether that is not stuck up for some reason.

The usual message would be "Waiting for WiFi" when we do not turn on backup over mobile data.

Even after turning on mobile data, we have to ensure many other settings are right for the backup to happen. that includes

Data limit we put in Google Photos app
Activation of data saver
Settings of data warnings and data limits on the phone
Allowing Google photos to use the data in the background.

Please note, the Google Photos app acts as a portal viewer & shows the photos on our device & the cloud as well. That creates a misconception that backup is happening satisfactorily even though that may have stuck up somewhere.

Further, you are saying you didn't get back your photo.

Is it so you switch to a new phone & now you are finding you can't see anything in Google Photos?

If that's so then the backup through the previous phone was stuck up for some of the reasons mentioned above.

Now the only option would be either complete the backup through the previous phone or transfer the data from one phone to another using some utility like nearby sharing. That would bring back the photos to your new phone.

However, you need to provide more details to know the exact situation. You can continue to use Hindi in the Roman script but please be elaborate. Please avoid brevity.

However, we can switch the accounts & then the activity against other registered accounts stops.

To add more accounts, tap your profile. Then tap your profile name which appears on the next screen.

Noted, the app is not backing up the photos while connected to a mobile network.

However, you have not mentioned whether do you observe the same thing when you connect the phone to WiFi. Then, I presume that to be happening satisfactorily.

I suggest you change the settings in the Google Photos app for mobile data usage to "unlimited data".

Further, visit the settings on your phone & modify the following:

Turn the data saver off
Modify the "data warning" and "data limits" to somewhere near 75 & 100 GB respectively.
Through the settings of "Apps & notifications" allow the Google Photos app to use data in the background & unrestricted data usage.

Once done, the backup would start.

You can fine-tune these settings later on to restrict data usage.

Did you restore the files to the new phone using some backup & restore tools provided by the manufacturer of the phone?

If so, then Google Photos may be interpreting these as new files.

However, did you check whether the files are getting duplicated in Google Photos?

You can do that by visiting the page https://photos.google.com & go through the entire collection.

By default, the Google Photos app doesn't duplicate any file.

However, the app will go through every file on your new phone & then skip that if found to be a duplicate. This process may consume some data but no real uploads would happen.

Seek your reply on this.

Tap any latest pic & tap the three dots. That will reveal the name of the device through which the photo was captured.

The second means the photo has been backed up through the current device.

That will clarify whether any upload is happening or not.

I presume you are downloading a backed up picture through Google Photos.

When we download a picture on an Android device, a notification appears about the successful download. Then, that offers to open the picture through some suitable app including Google Photos.

When we open that way, we can note down the file information which mentions the current folder in which the photo is residing.

Usually, the pic goes to /storage/emulated/0/DCIM/Restored.

Further, in the Google photos app, the menu below the picture changes to "Delete from device" and not "Download".

However, I tested one assumption & through that I could simulate the situation you are facing now.

I found the presence of .nomedia (a hidden file with no name but only an extension "nomedia") affects the response. That allows not only multiple downloads but also hides the downloaded file to Google Photos.

I suggest using any file explorer app to locate this hidden file in the /Restored folder. Delete that & the problem would resolve.

If you do not have any file explorer, you can download the "Files" app by Google & do the same. However, after installation, visit the view settings and change that to show hidden files.

Welcome to the Google Photos Help Forum.

Someone can only add photos to an album if the album is shared with you or if you've shared an album with that person. There's no other way this could be possible & it shouldn't be a case where some one else has the access to your Google Photos and Google Account, until you haven't shared your login credentials with anyone or someone has access to unlock your stolen phone and has accessed the Google Photos app to delete them.

I have tried many times, and my photos has been Backed-up long back and the new current photos are also is Backing-up., but from last few months I'm trying to Back-up videos and it is not Back-uping, not even one video of 10seconds. So i request you community to please solve this issue.

Can you view the video through Google Photos? Does that show a cloud symbol with a slash across that? On tap, does that display a message "Unsupported media"?

if not, please try reinstalling the app through these steps.

On your Android phone, open the Settings.
Tap Apps and notifications.
Tap Show all apps.
Tap Google Photos.
Tap Storage and cache.
Tap Clear storage.
Next, uninstall the Google Photos app.
Power off the phone & then restart.
Install the latest version of the Google Photos app through the Play Store.

Log into your profile & see whether that helps to overcome the current problem.

This usually works fluidly for me. I never have a problem uploading directly to google from my memory card (which is inserted into my computer) (I go to google photos and hit upload and go to the memory card and select all the new pictures) and then seeing it immediately on my phone. This is the first time it's happened. I checked the dates to make sure they were misdated and mixed with older files, and the dates are correct. I can't seem to find anyone else that has had this issue. Help!!

I understand how important Google Photos is for you and I'll be happy to help. Please ensure they're successfully backed up to Google Photos. If yes, please try the steps mentioned below in a sequence to help resolve the issue:

Sign in to Google Photos (photos.google.com) to check for your new backups.
If they aren't there, try re-uploading them again.
If they are available on the web (photos.google.com) but you don't see them on the Google Photos app on your iOS then try signing out and signing back in to Google Photos (photos.google.com) with the same Google Account.

I'm having an issue with connecting to Google photos.

I have several google accounts (work and personal). When I want to go to Google photos using my personal account it switches to the work one and I get a message that I cannot access it (which is correct). But when I try to sigh in with my personal account it automatically redirects me to the work one and I get the denying message.

With other apps as gmail, calendar it works fine.

Any idea what can be wrong?

You should be able to switch between accounts in the Google Photos app by using the Account icon top right and then the drop down next to your gmail address to select a different account.
