A face thumbnail appears below a picture if you tap open that through the people's tab.
To see that, please tap the search icon at the bottom. If you see the peoples row in that option that means the face grouping is not disturbed. Tap any face thumbnail, open the collection & then tap open any pic to see the face thumbnail.
However, if you can't see the people's row through the search option, you will have to reinstate the Group similar faces option through the settings.

Ebay has no connection to Google Photos, so you need to select the pictures wanted and download them to the local storage in your Chromebook before they can be uploaded into the Ebay-site.
If these pictures are on the photos.google.com site in the Chrome-browser, just select one in left up corner and then choose Download under the 3 dots. If it are just a few pictures, do it one-by-one to avoid complications with zipping - unzipping.
If these pictures are shown in the Google Photos app on your Chromebook, just open a picture and tap the 3 dots to see the word Download.
