But perhaps adding text or marks on a picture: then you need to start the editor (second icon at the bottom) and then scroll the row of options under the picture towards More and then you will find these options.

Set the settings on my Note 10 so that the backup continues when I set the phone down....
Check in the general settings for the Photos-app if background operation is allowed, but normally that is no problem. So I do think that some intelligent battery-saving is switched-on and that also will prevent uploadings in background.

Could you please elaborate the issue or your query for me to assist you better? If you've deleted them from Google Photos and want to restore them, please know that photos/videos deleted from the Google Photos library, goes to the Trash for the next 60 days. So, in case, you deleted it by mistake you can always restore it from Trash folder within those 60 days (post deletion). But, if you don't find it in Trash, probably it must have been deleted more that 60 days ago. Unfortunately, restoring your lost/deleted photos and videos from Trash is the last resort.

Thanks for sharing the link but I have tried these apps then returned unsatisfactory results. The pictures were corrupted, some were those which were not deleted. So I use this option to request you to get back my pictures. Nevertheless you should be aware that you see your local files in the app, so you should not delete in the app, but straight at Google via photos.google.com in the Chrome-app after switching-off backupping temporarily. But you better can hide these few by archiving them - that prevents problems.
