Regretfully, there is no way to edit the date & time in bulk.
You will have to do so for each photo individualyy.

Is there any way to create subfolders inside of my main ones? I know my old photos app was able to. Example: I have a folder named art, and inside, I want sections for things such as landscapes or characters. I assume you know what subfolders are though haha.

Google Photos has no "Folders" but "Albums", and you cannot create "Subalbums". 
Or do you mean Folders on the device (On my Samsung the Gallery calls the Albums)? 
Then you can probably create subfolders using a File Manager.

You can follow these steps to move the pictures to the SD card using the Google Photos app, 
  • Tap on the Library view.
  • Tap the desired folder under Photos on the device.
  • Select photos by long pressing, then tap others after a tick confirms the first selection. You can also long-press and slide down while still in pressed condition to select a range of pictures.
  • Tap the three-dot menu top right
  • Tap Move to folder
  • Tap New SD folder, type a folder name, then tap Create
Note that if the photos are in the Google Photos cloud, this will not remove them from the Photos.
Further, even if you do not select this new SD folder for Backup & sync, any content in that will still be removed if deleted using the Google Photos app.
 
However, to move any app to SD card, you will have to look for suitable app in the Play store.

In "Recently added" the photos are grouped per upload date, thus only the second upload is on top. 
"Recently added" is the simplest way to delete them, but you  must be sure that they are doubles. I would (on a computer if possible) first add the batch you want to delete to an album, then download them to have a backup, and finally delete.

So do you want to archive them or delete them? In Google Photos these are very different things. Archiving will keep the file and put it in a separate section. Deleting will permanently remove the file after 30 days.

Everything in Google Photos is listed chronologically, just find the right date, long press on a file and drag down from the date, you can then select multiple pictures and delete/archive everything you need too.

Hi Judy,

Welcome to Google Photos Help Forum!

First, please note that "Archive" has a special meaning in Google Photos and it basically means to ~hide~ not remove from device.  Archived images are visible from "Archive" on the 3 line menu

Second, doing what you want to do can be done, but honestly it would be sort of awkward. You can do it by in the "Photos" go to the 3 dot menu and "Select" then select images you want to remove from the phone (this MAY be limited to 500 or some other number at a time, I am not sure), then from the 3 dot menu again, select "Delete device originals

Third, it would be much easier and SAFER to use "Free up space" from the Google Photos 3 line menu to remove ALL  backed up images from your device.  They will still be visible in the app over Wi-Fi or data (and small images are cached after they have been scrolled past).

Fourth,  if you (or anybody else reading this) also use Google Photos Library to back up your photos, none of this information may apply (honestly I am not familiar with the current state of play).

You have to be logged into that account and try using the search features on Google photos to search for the photos you're looking for.

Google Photos has no "Folders" but "Albums". See under "Library" on mobile devices or on https://photos.google.com/albums. You can edit the album title by tapping or clicking on it.
