Possibly, you are trying to open the locked folder in Google Photos.

To do so, you have to use the same pin you use to unlock your phone.

Hello Wecing,

 

You may have to wait 24 hours, then go to Google Dashboard and expand the Photos tab then left click on the 3 dots and select Download data. If you wait a minute until 'All photos albums included' pops up then click on it and deselect all.

 

See screenshots online.

Then scroll down and select all the year albums Photos from 2020 etc, or any Albums you have created

 

You will now get a single copy of each photo, one json file per photo, and one filename-edited.jpg for each edited photo.

 

Unfortunately there is no easy way to use the json files without specialist software so they can be safely deleted.

Deleted Photos are stored in Trash for up to 60 days, if you delete Photos again from trash, that's two times deletion.
 
Unfortunately, once Photos are deleted from trash there is no way to retrieve them back :(

To reduce the mobile data consumption, deselect the "Use mobile data" option through the settings in Google Photos.

Can't see the photo or video? If a deleted photo or video is not in the trash, you cannot restore it. You cannot restore the photo in the following cases:

 

If you moved the photo to the trash more than 60 days ago. If you moved the photo to the trash and emptied your trash. If you permanently deleted the photo from the trash. If you have permanently deleted the photo from your device's Gallery app without backing it up.

There can be multiple reasons for the backup not to happen.

 

# The quantum of photos to be backed is high.

# Insufficient free space on the phone for the app to work.

# WIFI connectivity is intermittent. Too many devices on the same router are restricting the bandwidth.

# Download & upload speeds are too asymmetric.

# Google Photos app is not allowed to use:-

• Data in the background
• Mobile data
• Mobile data while roaming

# Activation of data saver through the settings.

# Putting a limit on the daily use of mobile data through the settings in the app.

# Putting a limit on the use of total data in a month through the settings in the phone.

# Activating battery saver or super saver mode.

# Existence a zero byte file in the collection. 

# Bloatware on the phone interfering with the smooth working of apps.

# Too many apps running in the background.

 

Can you go through these checks & address these issues?
