I created a shared album on google photos. I would prefer to link a single iphone photo album to this shared google photos album. As in, all photos in this iphone photo album would automatically upload to my shared google photos album. It seems like this is not possible on iphone.

If that is the case, I at least need to be able to select the photos in that iphone photo album and upload them to my shared google photos album. For example, in the iphone photos app, when you select a photo and tap the "upload" icon, there are options of where you can upload, including imessage, mail, facebook, google drive, and instagram. But i don't see google photos as an upload option. Is there a setting i need to toggle to see google photos as an upload option here? Why would google drive be an upload option, but not google photos? That doesn't make any sense. Google photos is a photo app. It should be an upload option from iphone photos.

If there is in fact no way to upload from iphone photos app to the google photos app, then the only way to do this upload is to open the google photos app, select the photos there and upload them to my shared google photos album. But google photos doesn't show my iphone photo albums and i have thousands of photos. It's not feasible for me to sift through my entire camera roll on google photos when i already have them organized in my iphone photos app.

Am i missing something here or does google photos just have a very poor workflow with iphone? FYI I am not interested in backing up my entire iphone camera roll on google photos.

Sorry, you can't copy a photobook to a different account. These posts say the same thing (anybody is welcome to correct me if this has changed):

You can, and probably should move all of your images to a personal account, or you are likely to have similar or different problems in the future. You can do this with Shared Albums or POSSIBLY (this might be disabled on your school account) Partner Sharing. Using either approach, make sure you "Add to Library" on the personal (receiving) account.

Honestly, I think it is safest when creating a Photobook to create an album (even if it is temporary and will be subsequently deleted) to hold all of the images then "Create photobook" from the 3 dot menu. That way, if you get interrupted or there is some problem you don't need to start from scratch again - you can also rearrange the order of the images in the album.

The date as shown in the info of a photo can only be changed in the web app https://photos.google.com/.
You can open a photo and click on the pencil next to the date, or select one or more photos, click on the 3-dots and select "Edit date and time". You can shift the date/time of all selected photos by the same amount, or give them all the same date/time.
Note that this will NOT change the date/time IN the metadata of the photo. It only edits the date/time in Google's database. The edited date will be kept when a photo is shared with and saved to another Google account, but lost when you download.

If you have uploaded photos on google photos and deleted it please take a look at the below info.

Following is text from the official Google Photos Help page about deleting and restoring photos and videos:

If you deleted an item and want it back, check your trash to see if it’s there.
On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google Photos app .
At the bottom, tap Library Trash .
Touch and hold the photo or video you want to restore.
At the bottom, tap Restore. The photo or video will be back:
In your phone’s gallery app
In your Google Photos library
In any albums it was in
If the item is not in your trash, it may be permanently deleted.

Important:
If you delete a photo or video that’s backed up in Google Photos, it will stay in your trash for 60 days.

If you see a photo or video in Google Photos that you think you deleted, it might be on a removable memory card. To delete it, use your device’s gallery app.

Don't see the photo or video?

Files that existed only on your phone, ones that were never uploaded to the cloud, cannot be recovered or restored by a cloud storage service. Simply put, Google can't help you recover files it never had in the first place.

I also upload manually from PC to Google Photos, and always select the photos in a folder. It also used to work when selecting the folder, but folders often do contain (hidden) files that are no images. I would give it a try.
I always upload photos directly to a new or existing album. This can be done via the "Add" button, but I usually drag & drop from the Windows Explorer. Advantage is that all photos will be in the album, even when they were already uploaded in the past and thus skipped. These photos will not be added to the album when you add to the album after uploading to the Photos tab.

Sorry for the late reply ... I was hoping that someone else with more Android experience would do it.

When you delete photos in the Google Photos app it indeed both from the device and https://photos.google.com/, but the photos deleted from https://photos.google.com/ should be in https://photos.google.com/trash.

If however the photos were not uploaded to https://photos.google.com/ (the fact that they do appear in the Google Photos app does not mean that they are uploaded) they will also not be in trash. In that case you may have deleted the device copy. I read here that the Android device has no trash bin. A recovery app may still be tried.

Just because of being out of space the app can't do this heavy task.

But you can install the light Google Files app and delete some fat 4K movie files yourself (the app has no trash - so they really get removed immediately). ANd when you have back about 10 GB of local space, the free-up space function can do the rest.

PS: instead you also can use a File-app on your phone for deleting some fat files, but these often have a trash - so that must be emptied also.

PS: check before on photos.google.com in the Chrome-app if your cloud looks complete before deleting.

With over 400 photos, it is a very tedious task as each row only showed 3 photos, so have to scroll past many rows to move 1 photo around. Any more efficient way to do it? Makes no sense to ask that here, because this is a user-to-user forum - so you send a feedback via the main menu - but even then you can wait until eternity.

I hope that you have the pictures of both cameras in separate folders on your computer? If not, it is quite hopeless.

But if you have the originals separate, the select all pictures in the current album and throw them in trash and then delete the empty albumcover.

Thereafter upload the content of folder 1 straight into https://photos.google.com and create Album 1

The same with the content of folder 2 into Album 2. Now you need to find-out the approximate time (and date?) correction by comparing the infotabs.

Then select all from Album 2 and then select Edit date & time under the 3 dots and then apply a shift to all for plus or minus x hours and y minutes and the same timezone if different. OK.

Then select all from Album 2 again, select + and then Album 1.

Close album 2 and open album 1 and maybe all is correct now. If not select Edit album and then clcik the up and down arrow to choose the right order from old to new.

Can't help, but the standard rule since years is: set all cameras the same at departure to prevent these troubles. Also see this link
