When you attempt to manually empty the trash bin in Google Photos, a warning message box appears that explains you are about to permanently delete those pictures and videos. If you choose to proceed anyway, there is nothing that any of the volunteers in this forum can do to help you recover your pictures.

If the receiver has a Windows-10 computer, he/she can find a hevc-codec in the Windows-store for free to update his computer for that format. That is the most easy way.

To entirely delete the photos stored on the cloud, please follow these steps on your Android phone.

First, turn off backup & sync.
Next, uninstall or disable the Google Photos app on your phone.
Next, open the link https://photos.google.com through any browser on your phone. Log into your Google account if the browser asks you to do so.
After that, go on deleting the pics one by one. You can speed up this step if you do so through a desktop PC. There, you can select multiple pics through the combination of the Shift + Mouse key.
Once you have deleted all the pics, empty the trash bin also.

However, if the collection is sizable, you may not see the intermediate stop of storing the pics in the Trash.

Once done, please block the webpage https://photos.google.com within all browsers available on your phone & desktop PC so that you do not visit that site again accidentally.

What you can do is deleting that specific video on photos.google.com within the Chrome-app after switching-off the backupfunction in the app. Thereafter you switch-on backup again and change the setting to storage saver.

I can not predict if the same video will get uploaded again, but now in compressed size (up to 10x smaller).

PS: in fact 4K or even 8K videos can't be combined with storage in the cloud - the uploads are extremely slow, their processing at Google is timeconsuming and in original quality they take too much space, so even paying for 100 GB will be not enough soon.

For me there is an additional factor: on computer I have more comfortable and much better possiblities for organising and editing then on any phone. On phone I can restrict then to storage saver quality which is good enough for general safety and usage.

Currently, I'm trying to set up a one family space with photos. I bought an extended storage plan with 100Gb space. I added my family members into Family Group and each of us can see all family members in the Family Link app, that installed on our phones (Link is https://families.google.com/families).

As a result, I can not do it in the right way:

- I tried to upload them via Google Drive, and then share folders with family members, but only I can find photos in Google Photo. I tried several ways.
- I can create albums with uploaded photos and share them with family members, but they will not be able to find this photos via Search bar and won't be able to use such cool benefits as find photos by faces, locations, keywords and so on.

Please tell me is it possible to do it?

There are no Googlers here - just expert volunteers.

Shared albums can be viewed via the links received via mail, but the receivers also must use Google Photos to be able to add (selected) pictures to their own library. And then they will become searchable and will be added automaticaly to Google collection about places etc.

That's how Google Photos works.

Sharing via Google Drive is not attractive because of its primitive viewer: just good for technical purposes.

The best way to share is to start building a 2019-album with carefully selected and edited pictures, including some description containing important words which makes such pictures searchable.

Then the shared people can use the same link the whole year.

Such an album should be sorted on newest first via Album edit under its 3 dots.

Wanting to share your tons is the worsiest idea on earth.

Just to reinforce the point Rinus makes, if you do share by album (which is the only current option) your family members would have to add the photos to their library in order to use the search functionality.

My own preference is to share a day to day misc album with vacation albums self contained, for example

201812 Almunecar

201900 Photos for sharing

I find the yyyymm format more suitable for searching

Besides: I also have rather small albums dedicated to a single event shared shortly with someone special, but that is something different then building a year-album for the core of our family and friends.

That is a bit misleading. But to open a shared album in the Google-app they simply have to be logged-in - else the app only can show their own photos on iPhone. So no harm at all and when they do like some of yours, they simply can add them to their own library. So you don't need to keep your album in the air for eternity.

You can not delete your photos without deleting them from any albums. The photos do not get added to the album, only shortcuts to the library original which you have deleted.

If you need to delete the Android copy then tap on the photo and select the 3 dot option Delete from device,

When you delete a photo in Google Photos it will also be deleted from all synced devices. In practice that are only mobile devices (phones and tablets) since syncing with computers has been disabled. There are however ways to do this:
