This forum, where you have posted,  is not the Google Photos support community ;  however the following standard response is provided for general advice, and assistance.
 
If correctly synced to your Google account, your photos/videos can be viewed at https://photos.google.com/ on a pc, or in your device using the Google Photos app from Google Play.  Make sure you are signed into the correct account.  Read Find missing photos & videos for initial help. If that doesn't help:-
  •  Have you signed into the correct account where the photos are stored?
  • Photos may not have been correctly synced to Google, in which case Google does not have them.
  • Search Trash/Bin in a desktop PC, or your device, in the photos page or app, if needed. 
  • Use the Google Photos app on your device, downloadable from Google Play.
If you did not delete these yourself, you need to immediately make your account more secure.
 
Please note from 01 June 2021 new Google Photos storage conditions.  Also read here and here.
 
(Deleted YouTube videos are usually unrecoverable  However this page may help, small print - YMMV.  For specific YouTube assistance, please ask in the YouTube help community.)

In preparation for the Jan 31 cutoff I've been tidying up & uploading photos from my Pixel 3 XL. I had about 12gb free before starting & the Google Photos app on my 3 XL correctly shows "Backing up in original quality is unlimited from Pixel 3 until 1 Feb 2022". After putting all the photos back onto my phone & syncing, my account storage is now 100% full with my Google Photos usage having increased by 12gb.

Can someone please advise what is going on here or how to directly contact Google? I've seen multiple posts on this forum with this exact same issue & none appear to have ever been resolved.

My laptop was running slow so I decided to free up space by deleting photos since I have everything backed up to Google Drive and Photos.  I got a warning at the bottom about Drive that I probably too quickly ignored, but I thought it said something like "will permanently remove from Drive".  The problem is, I don't exactly know which photos I deleted, but I don't have any in my recycle bin on my laptop, nor do I have any in my trash on Drive or Photos. 

Question is, if I deleted them from my laptop, would it automatically remove them from Drive and Photos? And if so, would they still show up in my trash on Drive and Photos so I can easily restore them?  I don't want anything deleted from Google, only my laptop

Remember that images in the "Trash" are automatically deleted after 60 days. After this date it is not possible to recover them. If you delete the trash it will not be possible to recover the information.

Hello Stephanie,

Welcome to the Google Photos Help Community.

I completely understand where you're coming from. Unfortunately, there isn't any way to delete the pictures from the app keeping them on the web site. If you delete the pictures from app it will also get deleted from the web version of the Google Photos and vice verse as it works as intended behavior.
