This is the 1080p version. It looks fine, but when you click on it, you can see the lines around the character are blurred. Underneath is the 720 version, which is what it looks like before it's fully rendered, I guess. This is what the original video looks like, and you can see that the lines are not blurred around the edges. I don't know why Google Photos does this, as it looks very weird. I have "original quality" clicked and the file is the same. Is it the bitrate? The bitrate for the video was about 6.59 or so.

The steps to take a screenshot vary between phone models & android versions.
However, if you have activated OK Google or Hey Google detection on your phone, the easiest way would be to say, "Hey Google take a screenshot". Then the Google assistant will do the work for you. However, once the screenshot is ready, upload that through Google Photos.
Nevertheless, the following are the standard methods to take a screenshot.
- Long press the power button & tap on the menu option "Screenshot".
- Press the volume down & power button simultaneously.

27 views and no reply, probably because nobody knows whet will happen in your case: in principle there is duplicate prevention, but the slightest difference (except in the file name), for example adding a caption, tag, edit the photo etc makes it a different photo. Some software does that systematically.
The best advice is probably: give it a try with a limited number of photos having copies in both sources. I recommend to upload them to an album, otherwise they may be difficult to find later.
